    I have watched about 20 ppf videos looking for the proper mix for solutions. This is the 1st I have seen that actually tells your mix rates. Thank you!.

    Can I ask I've seen a lot of videos recommending a ratio of 2ml baby shampoo/ 1000ml of water. Can you please comment on why you use 5ml? Thanks!

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  4 місяці тому +1

      I find that 5ml is the best ratio for me. You can try 2ml if you'd like and if it's not slipping enough for you, add a little more. Sometimes you just have to play around with the solutions until you find what works best for you.

    Great video thanks. For the tack solution - I noticed you used 70% isopropyl alcohol. What if I used 90% isopropyl alcohol does the 8:2 ratio still work or does the alcohol need to be further dilluted?

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  Рік тому

      Since it’s stronger I would further dilute it. I normally use 70

    Do you really need to discard the solution if not using within a day? I was planning to do rockers today and the hood next week.

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes, it's better to remix if waiting that long. Fresh slip solution maintains a consistent mixture, ensuring a cleaner, more effective application throughout the installation process. Older solutions may become less effective as the components separate or evaporate.

    I have seen videos saying not to use alcohol and water on headlights just hot water. Is that true?

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  5 місяців тому

      @@robert_murphy916 there’s nothing wrong with using tack on headlights. We usually use it to seal the edges at the end at least. You shouldn’t need much though

      @@tesbrosok thanks how much soap do I add to a 32 Oz bottle and alcohol

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  4 місяці тому

      about 5 ml of soap should be good. For tack, it's 20% alcohol and 80% water

    I have an area of PPF where a few millimeters have started lifting on the edge after about a year. Would tack solution fix it?

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  7 місяців тому +1

      Since it's been a year, no. It'll probably keep lifting. If it bothers you, you can get the panel replaced. If you got it done through an installer, see if you have a warranty that protects against this.

    Is there any validity to use hot water as a tac solution?

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  2 роки тому +2

      It can be when you want the film to stretch a bit easier and water can be used as tack. Essentially what you are doing is flushing out the soap and replacing it with water or water mixed with alcohol. That activates the adhesive and makes it “tack”.

    • @mrbrown30238
      @mrbrown30238 2 роки тому

      @@tesbros thanks . I'll be doing my 1st install soon. Ive mostly heard of alcohol and water mix until It next heard of just only hot water. Would you recommend one for this 1st time diy'er? I have a tac diagram for each piece.

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  2 роки тому +1

      @@mrbrown30238 Good luck! I usually use hot water only in certain areas. For example, I use it for mirrors when I'm bulking it. Or when I'm doing a good amount of stretch on a difficult bumper. If you don't have to use it, I'd recommend using the alcohol/water mix for tack.
