    Great information! I was looking exactly for a video to help me understand the difference between tack and slip solution and when to use. I have a headlight that I got ppf installed and it has some tension area that are lifting because of the compound curves. I am going to try to repair and get the ppf to lay down myself and your video here will help big time. Thanks again!

    I finally understand how to do most of it. I would love to see how to cut or fit the PPF to fit panels.

    What about if you are doing a panel at home/DIY(not pre cut) of the role, would you still look to lock the edges and work your way in or start in the middle like vinyl. Thanks

    I love your videos man! How would you go about applying PPF over decals and pin stripes?

    • @DriveProtected
      @DriveProtected  Рік тому +2

      Thanks for the kind words! This all comes down to communication with the customer. Always educate them and let them know that if you put PPF over the top of the pin stripes (unless painted on the vehicle) there will always be an airline from the PPF having to have been installed over a raised surface. I always try my best to steer the customer towards getting the vinyl removed so we can install the PPF, then have the vinyl installed over top for a cleaner looking install. Bit of a lengthy response but it ultimately comes down making sure the customer is aware and educated on what the outcomes are regardless of installing over top of the vinyl or underneath.

    Hello , Thanks very much, your Chanel. I am learning a lot , and I would like to make a question. I'm installing a ppf in a Mustang mach e, and I saw all your videos very helpful ,but I got white blemish between the film and the paint. I don't know why I'm using distilled water and baby shampoo.
    I will appreciate

    Do you extend all the edges on your patterns; if so how much also what cutting system do you use?

    • @DriveProtected
      @DriveProtected  Рік тому

      Yes! We extend our edges .5" wherever possible.

    Do you need to tack every edge possible or is the tack only for small areas or corners? And then once it dries it will stay adhered to the body when the slip solution's gone without tack? Tack is more of the process, not the have to to make things stay right?

    • @DriveProtected
      @DriveProtected  3 місяці тому +1

      Tacking is only required at corners and edges. The rest is just slip solution. Once the slip dries out, the adhesive bonds to the paint.

      No big deal at all. Perfectly fine. It’s not rocket science. You just need to work with quality material.
