I am about to completely repaint my boat and bought Wetlander. I'd like to go a few inches up the side of the boat like you did. I'm flipping it over to replace rivets next week and am wondering if you have any opinions on putting on the Wetlander before spraying the rest of the boat. My concern is that painters tape may not even adhere to the Wetlander when it comes time to paint the rest of the boat. Thanks!
Painters tape does not stick to wetlander. I just resurfaced my bottom with a new coat and I just wanted to do the bottom. Went to put the tape on and it would not stick. I had to move my paint lines from just the bottom up on to the current paint lines. I would paint and save the wetlander for last. Paint the inside and your outside, and then do the wetlander coating.
I was unsuccessful. I was almost certain I would get some. I thought gator season was going to be down with this whole thing going on. I would have thought people didn't have the money to put into getting tags. Guess I was wrong hahaha I probably won't apply again. I'll just go with other people. It'll be nice to take a break and not have to worry about cleaning up an alligator
Hey guy long time subscriber here I've watched all your vids I've been reading up on the wetlander I am interested for my johnboat and my airboat the question I am wanting to ask you is if you saw any speed differences before the wetlander versus after the wetlander I have read in a couple places some guys are picking up four to six miles per hour just by using the coating I know that we don't know each other but I've watched every continent you put out and I feel like you're a real honest guy so I would love to your opinion on this?
I saw the same things when I researched it, so no worries. I was curious about it too. I personally did not see a noticeable difference in speed, negative or positive. I also tried putting it on a prop to see if it would make any difference and if anything the prop lost 1 mph. I think it will improve your speed if your boat has really old paint on it and/or have rivets that are causing drag. The wetlander will help smooth the bottom out so there is less friction and things hanging up in the water while also sealing the rivets. My boat was fairly new, not too dented up or horrible paint, so there wasn't much to fix with the wetlander so thats why I probably didn't see the speed improvement, but for friction loss over vegetation.... its slick and greatly out-performs a standard jon boat without the wetlander coating.
I'd really like to apply it to my boat. Good video
Thank you! I'm glad I did. If you end up getting a bottom coating, let me know
short video but like to see how well that paint takes re coating or repairs
That video will be coming out soon 👌
