Michael, you're not only a great ambassador for amateur radio, you and Chris are fantastic ambassadors for Wisconsin! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year & 73!
Hi Michael, The Christkindli Market looked awesome. Wish I had some of that Yaks Sap maple syrup that was on one of the tables. Happy Holidays to you and Christine and you both stay safe. 73 WJ3U
Happy Holidays and I look forward to a QSO in 2025. I love the Wisconsin content, as a native three-time Badger. I miss Hubie Bock. Thanks for the fun and educational content!
Great activations at the parks. Your wife must have the patience of a saint to work a portable loom to make a tapestry. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the both of you.
Merry Christmas to you and your wife and your family. Keep well, safe, and happy. Hope to see more of your excellent videos in the New Year. 73 de AE5ZX
Michael whenever there’s a wind, I use a tri mag mount on the roof of my vehicle with a ham stick or hustler resonator which never blows over. With all the whip antennas you own, I’m sure you can figure a way to use one with a mag mount.
I enjoy your homey videos with local flavor. My wife and I too venture out like you both do, and we sit in the car in winter and activate. I’ll see you, hopefully, in the media trailer, in May at Hamvention.
Michael I’m looking forward to working you as a hunter on CW. After Labor Day this year, I started adding CW contacts to every activations. I try to do between 10-30 CW contacts in every activation. I’m now over 850 activator CW Contacts. It’s very satisfying to include them in my activations.
Merry Christmas, Michael! I suspect that wind was screwing up your grounding. I suspect my antenna (hamstick dipole) wasn't as sensitive but is prone to blowing over due to being a bit more top-heavy than yours.. 73
When you’re recording your radio contacts, how are you doing that? Is it a single recording that’s capturing both the remote station out of the radio and your voice, or are you recording two tracks and editing them together? It seems like the camera records your voice, but something else is capturing the other station? What does the actual wiring look like to capture the radio output while also splitting it to your headset and preserving PTT?
I use a Rode Wireless Go II two channel microphone. One unit it clipped onto me to record my voice and the other is attached to the line out port on the transceiver. I then merge and adjust the two channels in Premiere for the final video. All the details are in this video: ua-cam.com/video/tOqzZPphE7k/v-deo.html
I enjoy watching your videos. My wife is currently studying for her technician license. She knows absolutely nothing about radio and electronics so it's a long learning curve for her. She does a little at a time and told me she is at 15 percent of the questions learned and answered correctly from hamtestonline. I'm wondering if there are any good videos that can explain the overall study material and radio theory in as basic and grassroots of a level as possible? This might help her further her education.
This is one of the most midwestern things Ive seen all day, all week, possibly all month.
Is she weaving the waterfall display? 😊
Seems a fun way to spend time together.
I love how you and your wife activate together while you play with wires and she plays with yarn hihi God Bless
Every time I’m near Wisconsin I buy a trunk load of New Glarus beers! Keep up the good work.
I love how the gas stations at the border have pallets of Spotted Cow in the entrance for that very reason.
Hi Michael. It was our pleasure running into you and your wife in New Glarus.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Watching Chris make her art is so relaxing. I also think that she also has such great situational awareness!
Love the old Train Depots, they were so well built and many survive despite not being used as they once were. American craftsman built.
Michael, you're not only a great ambassador for amateur radio, you and Chris are fantastic ambassadors for Wisconsin!
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year & 73!
You had me at Spotted Cow 🐄 ❤❤❤.

I've got the camping reservations made, so Hamvention is a go for this coming year.
Love to see her working on a lap-loom while you play radio!
Merry Christmas, Michael! Spotted Cow is the best.

I was at the 2024 Hamvention but I didn't know you had put on a talk! I hope you're doing one again this year as well!
I'll be at Hamvention again so maybe we'll meet up. I don't know if I will be invited to do another talk or not, we'll see.
Merry Christmas Michael! Thanks for your Great Videos in 2024!!! 73 DO2MHV, Johannes

I think the PL-259 on my cable may be on the fritz. The coax is still fine, so I'll see if replacing the connectors on it fixes the problem.
Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas! Love the video Brian kc9usb 73
18:07 Was that a special Christmas Edition Old Fashioned?
Brandy old fashioned sweet. One of the better ones I’ve had

Great work michael.what is your Mrs making there please as curious? Merry Xmas to you both 73
She's weaving a scarf on her portable loom. If you watch some of my other Ham Radio Camping videos, you can see some of her finished products.
I see you have a new vehicle. I guess the old green one was passed along to a new owner.
No...Chris just got a new ride. The Green Outback still rolls.
I've still got the green Outback. The new black one is hers.
Hey 👋
I am on my third faraday fabric, what is your secret . Is it truly a magic carpet?
That's my original piece. It's over a year old and the edges are fraying, but it still works.
Hola amigo muy buen día,quiero pedirte ayuda para poder grabar el audio directo a una memoria y editar así mis videos un abrazo 73
Please help mee
