Joe Zawinul As a composer, jazz keyboardist, bandleader and hit-maker, he put his stamp on five decades of music - through his own bands, Weather Report (co-founded with saxophonist Wayne Shorter) and the Zawinul Syndicate, and also the tunes he wrote for Cannonball Adderley and Miles Davis. @Lucius Prime Well, your'e getting a bit finicky about the details here! Jaco Pastorius contributed to WR's success and special sound so much that I would personally say he IS one of the founders.
What's more, I'm not sure anyone, apart from the very fans I belong in, remembers M.Vitous or A.Johnson (great bass players, don't mistake me, but who enjoyed success in other contexts) as bass player in WR.
Olivier Perrier I do remember them both on the early WR studio albums. Mysterious Traveller (Alphonso Johnson) might be my favorite album of all-time of any genre of music.
