Some great suggestions. Many thanks, chaps. My favourite five so far: . Albion - Lakesongs Of Elbid (metalled up folk-rock from ex-Jethro Tull guitarist Joe Parrish-James' band) . Magnum - Here Comes The Rain (bittersweet but a very strong last album for the band) . Black Diamonds - Destination Paradise (excellent hair metal/AOR hybrid from Switzerland) . The Dead South - Chains & Stakes (Canadian bluegrass delivered with a rock attitude) . Blackberry Smoke - Be Right Here (the renaissance of Southern rock gallops on apace)
Good call with the Magnum album. I like Blackberry Smoke but thought the new album was a bit same-y. Maybe I need to listen to it a few more times & let it sink in.
Yeah, the new Blackberry Smoke record isn't staying too far from the tried and trusted but I think it has a little more country in the mix than the band has employed for a while so it's harking more towards the style of The Whippoorwill. Glad that you're enjoying the Magnum!
