Found a stihl on the curb for the trash, took it home , turned ignition switch to the correct on position, and it started right up. Only thing thing I've ever had to do is put fuel in it. Had it 5 years. Great blower.

LOL!! thanks man, I actually found the roller after I turned the camera off and I was straining my cleaner. I was like... what the heck is that! After 20 minutes of online sleuthing and watching the video I finally realized where it went. Didn't bother to film it, It was too late for that.

I still have an Echo and a Stihl. I blow leaves with the Echo and have the vacuum deal on the Stihl so I don't have to swap stuff out when leaves start falling. I never change plugs unless they fail either and noticed the one out of that Echo was sooted up really bad. I need to give my Echo a small twist richer and might this fall. It has a very minor hesitation coming off of idle but always takes right off to go to max. Good fix and Blessings 2 U! And I like Stihl and Echo equipment equally!

No use buying stuff we don't need and unless something is wrong a plug will last a l9ng time. And the back tires on the battery rider are supposed to be 10 or 11 PSI. Checked them this week and they were 30. Not now they're not. Just because it's new...............! Blessings@@HomeGaragechannel
My old Craftsman head unit with blower is working great. 30cc 4 stroke. Good repair. Stop fretting over the ultrasonic cleaner. We try tools,

When I see a 2 stroke that stalls while running at am angle, the first thing I do is hold it floored with the carb at the bottom, then repeat with the muffler down. Fuel can accumulate in the bottom of the case and this clears it out.

@@HomeGaragechannel Thanks, I have had 2 strokes that barely ran and after finally getting them started, and flipping them and holding them floored for a few seconds each way, they smoothed out completely.(they smoke like a diesel while doing it if there is anything in the case to burn off)

@@ZombieDaveAZThe main culprit is someone who doesn't quite understand 2 stroke motors choking it and pulling the handle 43 times. The design of the carbs is pretty foolproof, they don't (usually) leak into the motor. I have turned them over and gotten a surprising amount of fuel out of them. It's one of the hazards of buying used.
2 cycles are supposed to run at any angle, any orientation. If it dies out at an angle, it can be an air leak or carb problem (adjustment or internal problems).

I'm going to miss this little conversations, but I think I'll be okay.
I have come across several machines where a fuel filter was installed that did not have the weight on it, or the tank line was the wrong length and it would get fouled up in a corner. Small adjustments on the length can make a big difference in it's mobility.
The brand of blower I prefer is typically an Echo but years ago I bought a Troy-Bilt 4 stroke blower vac and it's still holding up, even with the oiliness of it. I have an old Echo PB-210E and like the overall robustness and how quiet it is with its aluminum fan. I haven't been using it lately due to it leaking gas but I would like to get it back to running.

I've had the same thoughts about those cleaners. I see other folks on youtube swear by them then after they use them they pull out their tools and start cleaning out the gunk from the carbs. I stop and think "wait what was the purpose of the ultra sonic cleaner". Seems good to me if you want to clean the gunk and oil off the surface of the object you're cleaning.

I love my Echo blower. A common problem with them after 5 years is coil failure. I replaced mine with a aftermarket unit and it's been running great since.

If I needed one of these, I'd buy a cheap one, & keep up the care required.

i purchased a grey echo branded blower used on craigslist 10 years ago. so far still running good with a few replacement parts. Ill keep running it until i can no longer fix it.

Which brand of blower to me depends on my financial situation at the time. Echo and Stihl are probably some of the best but would have to look at the volume and velocity of the air. Way back in the day I purchased a Craftsman and still have it today. I don't use it much anymore. Great repair as usual. Thanks for the video.

I had a b&s carb I wanted to see if engine was good. Carburetor was so corroded in bowl area I used blast cabinet. It did work. It had sat years. I had bought a jewelry cleaner about 1/2 size of your ultrasonic I don't think it has heat. But only $5 at garage sale I will check it out one of these days.

Husqvarna never had problems with them in 2021. After Hurricane ida, I replaced the fuel line for my blower. Echos fuel lines are easy to coil and expensive recoil springs are a pain install husqvarna my go to

Im working on a little echo saw, a 306. What kind of sealer do you use to seal those single hole fuel grommets to the tanks? Its not a tank like this, its a shiny orange plastic tank. Ive tried rtv and some other stuff and nothing will stick to that shiny plastic?
as far as I know not much will stick to the tank, have you considered getting a new grommet?

For me its stihl.
I find them more comfortable and easier to tune/maintain.
But i also love my tanaka back pack blower.

Hey bro what's up? This blower is in very excellent condition. Since it have a high compression reading, I don't think that the owner neglected it at all. I personally have a Stihl BG 56 leaf blower and it is just right for the work i do in my yard.

I'm just wondering i just put a New carburetor on a echo pb -200 blower with the 50.1.can gas starts up and run for a little and dies
did you replace the fuel lines and fuel filter? also try it again but this time have the fuel cap really loose. This will test to see if the fuel tank vent not working properly
Did you already remove the "plugs" covering the carb adjustment screws?

Under the pump bulb , there's a brass ring with a dark plug inside of it . Remove the plug and you will see a set screw . With the throttle wide open Give the screw about a half turn to the left and check with that . keep turning the screw until runs out fine . No more than one full turn and a half . You can get that plug out with an allen wrench that fits snug inside . Just heat it up till hot the put it in the hole and let cool . Give it a quick pull it will come out .

I’m ver interested is what else you might be doing to the machine afterwards., I’ve been told the Echo’s are great, but many, if not most need to be tuned for optimum performance., It is that tuning which I would love a video on, please. It's no secret, I use brake fluid
I definitely prefer a name brand. I love my echos, but l think the stihl handhelds are well built too. Not a fan of the husquavarna 125 l believe. The choke flap feels like it could break, and the blower as a whole feels cheap. But it works for what our church needs it for so thats all that is needed.

My ultrasonic cleaner also just sits on the shelf. The time to prep/heat it up, I just grab a can of carb cleaner and get it done.

I got the same echo blower and it won't idle. It has a clean carb and runs super healthy, just seems like it need the idle higher. But even with the idle screw all the way in it still won't stay running. But I can get it to a good idle speed by just pulling the trigger a tiny bit. Any ideas?

yes, adjusting the low speed screw would also have an impact on the idle speed
Do you lightly blow compressed air in the carb too much compressed air can damge the check valves and blow out the inlet screen

it depends on bad they are, at least 24 hours, but days would work best.

I forgot to mention in one of my last comments about the ultrasonic. dont put any rubber seals in it or any carb needles that have the rubber tip in it cause it could warp the rubber and or swell it. Ill try to give you as much knowledge as i can with the ultrasonic cleaner. Lol when i remember things.

My echo hedge trimmer had a tank of bad gas to make it not run at full throttle so I replaced the gas with fresh gas and it is running like new again

Why does my echo blower 250 won't let me pull the string
it could be flooded with fuel, or the piston is rust or seal to the cylinder wall.
So protip for wife brownie points with the ultrasonic: throw her jewelry in there with jewelry cleaner and they come out looking brand new

Generally a Stihl guy here, but I’d happily run Echo as well. BG86 and BR800 for home use. I’m with you on the spark plugs - I never replace them or even clean them unless there is a problem… which there never is.

Echo has come to the top on most small equipment. Sthill and Husqvarna is not as good as they used to be.

My neighbor just bought an electric blower, it blows like a giant hair dryer, barely moves anything. I'll stick with my Homelite gasoline one.

well for me here in Australia well as long as the leaf blower etc is made for what i need it for well i,m laughing really but yeah Stihl Echo Husqvarna aka Husky or Shindaiwa or Tanaka Honda or Makita Homelite Ryobi will also be ideal for work etc.

@@HomeGaragechannel yep too right mate plus our Victa 2 stroke aka 2 cycle engines back in the good old days were a good blokes hot lap runner for sure.
So the metering diaphragm was the biggest part of problem.
it was only a small part, I think it was an issue with the carb itself and the adjustment helped out the most. I try not to do the adjustment first now, If possible

As far as brands go, it all depends upon the volume of work to be performed. So if your property is 1/2 acre or more, a quality name will suffice. Sthil, Echo, Husqvarna. If you can get along with electric or battery, great. Have a great weekend everyone!
