- We had the pleasure of taking Chris Shontz, @venture4wd out to the desert with us to get his expert opinion on our AWD van. Chris Shontz is an offroading guru and well recognized name throughout the off-roading community. When we learned he was coming into town, we couldn't miss the chance to get his honest opinion on the new AWD drivetrain and our ARB air locker. We ran multiple trials to run side by side comparisons of different drivetrains! We hope you enjoy the video and be sure to head @venture4wd page to check out all of his great content!

John and Chris having a rowdy party!
Great video! It’s very clear that the air locker is a game changer!
It really is!
Great video! Where was this filmed? I am near San Bernardino, CA and would love to take my Bronco out there. I had a beautiful 2022 Pebble Grey 144 4x4, that I sold so I could take delivery of the Bronco, and I sure do miss it, but I also own an Airstream B190 (which is built on the E350 chassis) and will eventually do a solid front axle swap with Dana 80s. I didn't need two vans so the Sprinter had to go.
Anza-Borrago Springs!
Does the renntech tune help with the pedal to the floor situation off road with the 4x4? Wish there was a t-case doubler for these. Possible to see a test like this again with the AWD carrying as much weight as the 4x4? Empty van changes the dynamics quite a bit.
Inexcusable Mercedes will not offer an e-locker from the factory for an "Adventure" van.
Looks like the AWD struggled every time without the locker on.
