Apparently, the passengers of flight 411 thought that they were on a sightseeing flight and kept calm. I applaud them for that!

Since no one was hurt in the air or on the ground in Athens, I have to say how amazing it must have been to witness and hear a 747 flying overhead so close to the ground. Say what you will about Boeing, esp. after the merger, but the 747 was an amazing technological achievement, and thrilling to fly on back in early '70s. Yes, I'm that old.😂
After what the general public has recently learned about Boeing, i think very few would believe a word they say. Theyve always blamed the crews.

I totally agree. One thing I've noticed is most of the time they blame the pilot. Like they never want to admit it was the airplane at fault.
Financial efficiency is about giving less and charge more.

In the Olympic case it was the flight engineer who initialy messed up by deactivating the water injection to the engines.
That was certainly a big mistake, those engines evaporated water droplets into a larger volume of vapor to produce thrust and cooling at the same time. their ultimate demise came when it was discovered that steam over hot turbine blades made them brittle. The system was developed for the Harrier during vertical takeoff.
I assume that the low water warning was from only the engine that exploded. Even if it was affecting the other engines, they needed what was left of the water then and now. I cannot imagine that with the water needed to stay in the air, a common system would have been used.
Unfortunately, pilots receive too little training on exactly how things work. With the level of automation today, this situation is getting worse.

If I was a pilot I would not feel comfortable with just following checklists. I would like to know what each switch does and what each message means.

Don't usually comment on your videos, but had to here. Migadis was superb, using wits, experience, know-how. They must have been passing bricks at the time. How often has that happened to them? You're in one of those apartments at height, seeing a 747 just whisk past you like it was a bird.
No recognition about engine no.3?? Lost of engine power?? Did they all dream it? Simulations all ended in crashes, yet the real thing did not. Boeing said 'you guys f***** up, and the plane rectified all, owing to its marksmanship and design.' Magadis had to have shown them the finger.
Same thing again for the guys going to Cameroon. Last moments showing them an imminent crash and they had to dig in, pull up, avert, get over, land and kiss the ground in Douala. It's nice to see at least there were no fatalities, but good piloting.

@@ThemePro24 Not completely true. It was Boeing who decided to use a controversial engine (water injection turbofan) in their aircraft. There was an alternative: Rolls Royce RB211 which Boeing later adapted to 747.
FYI, water injection turbofans are no more used in commercial aviation because of issues in inefficiency, reliability, durability, etc etc.

@@NeonVisual you can’t just use covid as an excuse that was YEARS ago 😭 as an idea… the channel could have pivoted towards other interesting areas of aviation (such as MentourPilot did for example). Maybe if they did that rather than having tunnel vision on one area and reposting the same videos about a billion times then less of us would complain. After all, it is called “The FLIGHT channel” and not “the AVIATION INCIDENTS channel”

It looks to me the pilots of the 777 did not act immediately. Totally incompetent to not know where they were or notice the mountain coming up to them.

Maybe because there isn't an unlimited number of accidents to cover. This channel has done a great job over many years covering all the major incidents that have happened over the last 50 years or so. Pretty good going I reckon. You could try doing something productive yourself instead of just moaning.

They also deliberately add in the wind sound while the planes are on the ground. Almost every videographer has a microphone to eliminate wind sound yet this channel feels the need to add it in for effect.

If you pause the video at 1:40 theres a girl in a blue jean skirt obviously sneaking something on the plane. She could barely walk. She probably had something to do with it.

Boeing - it says itt all. A piece of cheap low quality scrap up in the air. And Boeings absolute refusal to take any form of responsibility went unrecognized until the 737 MAX started dropping out of the sky due to poor construction.
Suggestion for TheFlightChannel: everything you do is top notch except for passenger animation. They move awkwardly and exhibit the most unnatural jerks and sudden jumps. I suggest removing the passenger animation all together. Keep the ground crew as they are less noticeable. This will make far better videos. Cheers.
