I got that wonder feeling the other week. Light rain stopped as i parked the car to walk to work. The smell of gum leaves in the crisp morning air. It made me think i should get outside more in the early mornings :)
I remember reading somewhere that it was a good idea to occasionally completely break with your routine and just go for a walk as a kind of reset. The only walking I usually do in the morning is approximately three steps towards my car :D I've never smelt a gum leaf in my life... what does that smell like?
Bleddy lovely Jimbob! I might venture out in a bit myself and enjoy the frozen delights! I must admit, working with students every day can grind my gears but they are mostly always upbeat and happy which is nice to see :)
Hey girl! If you do, just be careful, its bleedy slippery out there. I almost went ass over tit at one point and uttered a rather embarrassing squeal (manly viking war cry). Hehehe, yeah I know about your various trials with naughty students! The positivity and general happiness is quite infectious, though. Although, I'm not surrounded by them on a daily basis :D
Oooh ok thanks Jimbob, I might stay indoors today then just in case! Haha sounds like you managed a heroic save there! 😅 Yes it's different when you're surrounded by the buggers every single day....their voices alone grind my gears!!! 😅
Ah, that's a shame! My brother down in Plymouth says it's just been raining all morning. Was really surprised it was snowing to be honest, it doesn't usually make it down to us either.
Was quite shocking. I always say a little prayer whenever there's an inkling of snow on the forecast, but this was a surprise. I was so dazed I actually went through the routine of scraping the car clean and driving to work... until I saw the car in front of me sliding sideways down a hill :D They got out of it without any damage, but it scared the hell out of me!
In the south west of england, snow is actually pretty rare too; slightly more temperate and influenced more by the sea. It is quite magical though... unless you have to drive in it. We seem to always be terribly prepared for the appearance of ice, let alone snow! Where abouts in the US do you live, if you don't mine my asking?
@@newsfromthegelding I'm in New Mexico, snuck right in between Texas and Arizona! We react to snow the same way out here. Everyone is awestruck at the strange new beauty, and then we get in our cars and slide all over the place and go back home!
@@LiminalSpaces03 Ah yes, not much snow in your neck of the woods then! I've always wanted to visit Arizona, ever since reading Silverberg's Book of Skulls. Not sure I'd like to stumble across the temple, though! Interestingly, in Scotland during the winter, there are gritter trucks that scatter salt on the roads to prevent build-up of ice on the roads. These trucks are given hilarious names like, Keanu Freeze, Spready Mercury, Sprinker Bell :D
You are very kind! I guess I felt older than usual walking amongst all the young, bright students walking past me. But I guess you are right, relatively speaking I'm still on the young side... just wish I felt it! :D Cheers mate!
Yaaaah, saying "My wife" at last Jimbob:):):))
It does feel strange to say :D Although I did ruin it slightly by saying, 'the wife' :D

Glad you're having a good day, Jimbob.
Cheers Wil, really did me some good that little bimble. Hope you're doing ok, mate!
Good morning! Just cold rain here in Penzance. I wish we had snow.

As a desert dweller, I love seeing the snow!

Good morning! :D
Love the snow
And you’re not old
You’re young 😊

@@newsfromthegelding cheer mate 😉🍷
I got hit by a cyclone the other day on the island I live on in Canada. No snow where I'm at yet though.
Crikey! It's all happening at the moment. I'm guessing you'll get a fair dollop before the year is out though, right?
@@newsfromthegelding Probably a little bit, I live in one of the warmest parts of Canada, so we don't always get a lot here.
