I had to walk 9 miles 4 days a week from Marks Tey to Colchester after receiving an apprenticeship on track shovelling on the railway. I was unemployed and homeless. 5 years later I'm a engineering planner on a good in come. Employers whom see and watch those who struggle but persist and do not complain find it humbling. You learn values in life and mature much quicker, and are often called an old soul because you have had it rough. Much respect to the gentlemen and its a dying breed these days.

Much respect friend. I work at an Amazon Distribution Center and walk five and a half miles to work for four days of the week. I work ten hour shifts each day and ride the bus home. I have to trek through a bad part of town to get into the next town where it's located. I have also experienced homelessness. I had a job when I was homeless which was horrible, but I still went. I was on the streets for six months of my life, never again. I worked at a fast food restaurant for three years before working for Amazon. I am currently twenty-four and have a goal to receive my CDL next year after a full year with Amazon as they will pay for the school up to ninety-five percent. One day, I'll have my own truck, establish my own company and become self-employed. People lack drive, it's sad!

This young mans determination was all his own, god had nothing to do with it. Lets not forget that this so called god took his mother, and left him and his siblings alone to fend for themselves, some god.

This is why companies in Texas and elsewhere are hiring people in their 60's, 70's and even 80's to work their jobs. They may be slower, but they are honest and usually show up on time. They also can make change for a dollar in their heads without a pencil and paper or a calculator.

+Michael koen my grandfather dropped out of highschool to join the korean war, and then came back joined a union and became a very good electrician. he then traveled all over the states doing jobs that others turned down and his union picked up, only to get mesothelioma latter in life, and he STILL was able to get around and do what was needed. he even built most of his own shop (i helped a bit so did my dad) and refused to just lay down and wither away, like the doctors wanted him to in his final days. He died while walking to tell my grandma something in the living room a couple days after refusing to be put back in the hospital. He was an electrician up until his late 50s when he had a heart attack and he started when he was 18. Men like yall are so hard to come by these days and it saddens me.....
Btw they never did give the Korean vets the money they promised and left them to fend for themselves. And my grandpa was actually given an honorary High School diploma a few years before he died.
