The passive agressive jab at whoever is supposed to fix Ian's kitchen during the sponsor segment just sells the video as a BrutalMoose video. Never change, Ian.
@@KaleSchlegel I'm not all that knowledgeable about construction or anything regarding the building/placement of kitchen flooring/appliances, but seeing the images he displayed of his flooring, with the context of leaky appliances, my guess is that part of the floorboards may have rotted and lack structural integrity to get to fixing right away. My biggest problem with these freeze-dried foods is the excessive packaging. You would think that they would focus on minimizing weight (and also waste that you have to pack out), but it doesn’t seem to be a high priority.
I don't mean to seem pessimistic or anything, but should you relapse a good piece of advice I heard is "sobriety isn't never relapsing again. It's making sure the time between relapses keeps getting longer and longer." That's been helpful to me, and should the worst happen maybe it'll help you too.

What kind of complaint is "you didn't do activities and get hungry first" Like yes, obviously something tastes better when you're hungry, that's how it works, it's how come people who are starving can stomach eating boiled leather and other garbage. If hunger is an ingredient to your recipe then it failed from the start.
"It'd taste better if you got out and worked up a sweat." You mean food tastes better when you're hungry? Yeah, that's ... literally a thing. It's why you go to the store and buy everything in sight when you're hungry, because everything sounds good. And then 20 minutes after you eat you look at what you bought and go, "Wow, I hate half of this." It doesn't make the food taste better, it lowers your expectations.
it may not raise the objective quality of the food but subjective quality can be important cuz ur body can bribe your palate to get what it needs, think of the victorians getting excited over a gelatinous fatty energy-rich pigs head for christmas after working all day in the cold, prolly tasted awesome to them despite being english cooking
Everytime Ian uploads I'm at a different point in my life. And his videos are like a checkpoint that remind me that no matter how much things change, some things always stay the same. Or something like that
if you ever want to take something like milk hiking you can take those little jugs of yoohoo, they can be stored at room temprature because they only have dry milk powder and water instead of actual milk.
You can buy quart containers of shelf-stable milk. Dollar Tree stores often have them. The milk will be at ambient temperature if you don’t have any way to chill the container, but it’s actual milk. Opinions vary on how good it tastes. I think it’s okay.
12:40 You can actually go camping with milk (sorta). A common item for hikers to bring along is dehydrated milk. Just add water and you've got a pretty good substitute! Used it for cereal when I've gone backpacking before. Tastes kinda like lowfat milk or skim milk, but it's not bad honestly.
