This review is spot on… we drove to check it out. My pregnant wife (at the time) was NOT easy to convince or impress. So this was a huge gamble for me pushing this. It delivered. Her exact words “I can see how people could dedicate their lives to BBQ after tasting this”. And she doesn’t talk that way. Hah A+
A story of a man throwing a hail mary on a restaurant and his wife actually liking it? So rare and beautiful I cried.
DUDE... yeah!!!!
@@EJ_7715 haha I think I did that day. I can only strike out so many times
Ahh Confucius say behind every man is a very smart woman, she obviously knows quality when she tastes it bro
Lil Baby said I’m the hardest out on UA-cam right now, I’m Just a young 21 year old mexican that smokes weed on my UA-cam channel, tryna make it out the hood. I also ate burger king inside target 😂😂😂
Jeremy you are one genuine bloke mate, I like how humble you are when people come up to you, you’re friendly and cordial, not like do you know who I am, you even went and waited in line when you probably didn’t need to, good man, peace from Australia mate
I’m currently here in Rome, Italy with some of the best Italian food in the world but nothing makes my mouth water more than staring at that giant beef rib. The patience these guys have. I’d be attacking that thing first. That, the brisket look damn good. Really everything does, it’s clear to see why Goldee’s is the current reigning BBQ top dog. Yum.
J: Spicy?
Rando: Not really, no
J: Aww really, I love spicy
Rando: It's got some kick to it
🤣
Brad is naturally funny 😂
The editing, the content, the food. Everything about this video is amazing.
Jeremy taught me how to make brisket, I was so inspired I left California and moved to Central Texas to see what Brisket is supposed to taste like. Now my search for an offset smoker that my wife wont kill me for buying begins. Thank you Jeremy.
check into workhorse pits. They've been acclaimed my many, including Jeremy to be terrific cookers. And I think the price to value is pretty amazing, and shipping is reasonable as well.
The chargriller grand champ is the best option I’ve found and works wonders (in terms of price and functionality). You even get decent heat distribution flipping over the tray inside the cooking chamber (bottom, drill some holes)
Since your in Cent Texas check out Lonestar Grillz. Top quality offset and won’t break the bank. Chris the owner is super nice guy, will work with you to get what you need.
Save your ducketts and get yourself a Chud smoker😁
I second the Grand Champ XL. For the price and what it comes with, you'll have a hard time finding something better. Their customer service is top notch as well.
Great video, great BBQ, great banter between Brad and Jeremy, love these collaborations!
I live right down the street from this place and I eat there a few times a month. Great food!! Always..
Banana pudding is a staple. It’s something that I truly miss about living in Texas. It’s something we had at big Sunday meals or holidays growing up.
I've been to Goldee's three times now. If anything it only gets better. The barbecue is absolutely redefining. I've had Franklin. I've had Snow's. Nothing even comes close to Goldee's. These guys execute everything with perfection. It's like they took the Texas barbecue formula and just perfected it.
What about Black's BBQ in Texas since 1932?
@@mhammer5 lol
@@sfiv1987 NOT LOL BUB. Black's exists. It's on ytube check it out. It can's be dismissed!
That's exactly what they did they used what they learned and built on it. If it weren't for Franklin I don't think Goldee's would exist actually a lot of new spots probably wouldn't which is great. Most old school BBQ spots never really had good sides and now that's a thing.
@@mhammer5 blacks is kinda meh.
Edit: or not MEH. It's top tier BBQ.
But like a 91. Coopers, snows, franklins, 95-98s.
Different class of place.
Went to Goldees back in June and it was phenomenal! Loved every bite! The beef rib was so rich and tender! Brisket was juicy and flavorful and sides were next level. I also truly enjoyed their bread pudding for dessert. If you love BBQ, Goldees has to be on your bucket list!
Great video. My favorite part is you taking the time to meet and greet those who approached you. Good job man.
Chud and yourself really inspired me to try barbecue and today I’m doing my first pork butt on the Weber. Keep it up guys!
Pork butt always a good one to start with! In my experience it’s hard to get too wrong, if you hit the magic temp, just comes down to rubs, sauces, how it’s served etc…unlike brisket etc which is so variable! How did it turn out?
bbq cinematic universe
@@creiglamb6036 The grill nation claims yet another Florida man.
Great video, that's all I have to say. Two of my favorite UA-cam grilling and smoking guru's enjoying some different BQ. Looked top notch!
Now it's obligatory that you go home and show us all the technique(s), rub, and wood(s) that go into making that spread!
My mouth was watering the entire time I watched! 👍Thanks for taking us along!
we all do this good stuff in Texas.
A great review video. Two BBQ dudes and the reviewer-of-all-reviewers for BBQ joints in Texas. To watch these guys sample and comment was pretty fascinating to me. Great content Jeremy!
Love it. This looks like an awesome time to hang out and trade stories over. Food looks incredible.
It seems like Brad has been popping up in everyone's videos lately. Love it!
I love Brad!
Love this review! Also appreciate the love you gave to other BBQers!!
I may know that rotisserie!!! Awesome job guys, Love it!
Great video! I love it out there and even filmed a video of their grand opening. They have been fantastic since day 1.
Yep I'm going to have to try this bbq joint. This sounds like a great reason to check more of Texas out.
You gotta try Hurtado’s BBQ in Arlington, Texas if you haven’t Jeremy. That place is amazing.
We need more of this!!
Need to move all around texas
I have to say you have become my favorite BBQer on UA-cam. Keep up the good work.
Mine too! I live in Germany and watch every video Jeremy loads up, it‘s always great content!
Well everything looked friggin amazing. I know that trip was a great time. Can’t wait to make it there this fall
Goldees food is so perfect. There’s no other word to describe it.
Love these collabs Jeremy. Hope you had a great time. Looks like you did.
That was the best looking brisket I've ever seen.
The Goldees guys seem so humble and down to earth. Couldn’t have happened to a better group of guys.
Heck yeah, Goldee’s is legit. Awesome food, and great group of guys. I hope you enjoy that Wicker’s TX glaze. Thanks for including that part in your video.
Chudds just chowing and vibing.
You guys are awesome!!
Was there that same day. Number 1 in line. All around good dude 👌🏼
Another great Video
You gotta love Texas Barbeque
We always went into Dyer's BBQ while in Amarillo (they're also in Pampa), TX
Have to try out their "Family Style"
They put on quite a spread
They do have the best onion rings.
I am slowly making my way through the top 10 from the 2021 Texas Monthly: The 50 Best BBQ Joints list. I have now been to Goldee's (#1), Cattleack (#6), and Panther City (#10). I live in Dallas, so I started with Goldee's (#1). Here is some of what I wrote to some family about my visit on a Saturday in June, 2023:
"We got in line at about 8:45am for the 11am opening. There were about 100 to 125 people in front of us. The first guy in line got there at 6am. It took until 12:30pm (so 1.5 hours) to make it to the counter to order after the doors opened at 11am. Nothing was sold out when we got to order.... I believe we could have arrived at 12 noon and done just fine. I think the only item that got sold out by the time we left [at about 1:15pm] was the banana pudding."
I must say, having had the banana pudding--and never having liked banana pudding before--I would really, really hate to miss out on it. It was great. Still, to not have to wait in line for almost four hours and only miss out on the banana pudding wouldn't be too bad. I would make that trade off.
I also wrote: "Everything was very good to great, but I will skip the Pork Belly next time." The Pork Belly was just too fatty for me.
The brisket at Cattleack was the best I have ever had, but Goldee's is the best overall barbecue place I have ever been to. If it were a little closer to my house I would go there every week.
1:32 - Split down the middle - The Wesley cousins band feat Billy Valentine - Just in case any one ask what's the name of the song
Ok, I love all your content. I would like to see some areas where your tastebuds can compare and contrast their preferenances.
Love when you team up with Chud
The collab the people have been wanting. I know Jirby handed over the franklin secrets.
Is Bradley wearing Crocs?
Somebody talk to Bradley about the Crocs?
You guys are all great!
Thank you, Young Jeremy, for introducing us to all of your friends.
Yeah. Crocs.
Wow wow wow wow wow, that brisket looks incredible, them ribs look outstanding and that turkey looks hella moist
My first brisket starts in 3 weeks. Maybe it's the same quality like this after 18 hours..... i hope so! Thx MAD for your Inspiration in BBQ. Greets from the East! (Austria)
Oh dang! Goldees is the best. Hurtado in Arlington is another great bbq spot. Try the local "hazy cat" IPA (panther island brewing) it was a great pairing lol.
The beef ribs and brisket looked unworldly delicious.
Great job boys. Looks delicious.
Man, what an awesome experience! That bark tho 😳
The day I was there the turkey and sausage was the best thing on my plate. The brisket only tasted like the rub and the ribs were chewy and dry.I’m sure every bbq place has a not so good cook on a piece or two when mass cooking but have had much better brisket and ribs than I got that day.The banana pudding reminded me of my grandma’s it was great.
Was there I think 2 weeks before you. The food was incredible and was a the best Bbq the wife and I had on our 2 week BBQ tour. now I just need to find the time to get back there ...
One of my bucket list places to visit.
GREAT video!!
Loved the video and next time I’m in Austin I’ll be sure and give Goldees a try. Looks like some Great BBQ
Not in austin
Awesome review video. I'll definitely check this place out soon. 👍
Hey, you could do a review video too! Would love to see your reaction.
@@JakeLovesSteak Yo brother Jake! Love how small the bbq community is. 🤘
@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ yep! I'm subscribed to a bunch of bbq channels.
I’d love to see your take on it!!
I found out Last Minute you were there. Im 6 hours away and almost pulled an all nighter to make the drive. I have been telling my wife everyday why didn't i go? I have been wanting Goldees for awhile now and getting to meet you would have been awesome. Now seeing all the fun yall had im even more bummed i didn't come.
Ugh... I thought about doing a brisket all weekend but didn't have time.... now I'm going to be doing one mid week between work. Thanks! 🤣🤣🤣
I like these bbq restaurant reviews. Keep them coming!
I live only 30 minutes away I can't believe I've never been here. Can't wait to try it out, looks bomb!
Burnt Bean Co. Is legit as well!! You should try them out!
One of my favorite parts of this video is I don’t see any sauce sitting on the table with you guys. More and more when I go to a barbecue joint, I want to try the meat as it was cooked and smoked without any addition of sauce. Everything looks amazing on that tray! I’ve never seen hash that color before but it looks tasty.
Chud’s beard is number #1 ☝️ love this video!
The BBQ gods all at one table dinning feeding there grills classic
Great video but the arrogance/ body language of the middle guy was terrible. That said, who cares. Jeremy was great. Honest, sincere with no ego. Just passion. Love it!
I'm planning on going soon! (Hopefully before the end of the year) it'll be my first time trying real Texas BBQ. This review got me hyped to go even more!
Fast for a few days before...then have 3 beers...then have your first BBQ ever. Make sure to take the next day off work cause you'll be comatose! Enjoy.
@@GregTally wow! You got it down to a science
Awesome video!
What a fun experience, you're having way too much fun out there ;)
Alma Smokehouse in Alma or Ennis Texas is another great one.
Amazed that a Texas joint has pork hash! That's usually only found in South Carolina/Eastern GA.
My wife was just down that way and I got her to go to Terry Blacks when she was in Dallas and tried to get her to go to Goldees when she was in FW. I wasn’t able to go with her this year cause of work…she lived TB, didn’t make it to Goldee
I think my favorite part is Brad "that's a great pickle" while everyone is talking about meat.
I live in the Fort Worth area and just recently heard about Goldee's BBQ. A couple of my coworkers have talking it up and asking me about meeting there for lunch. This place looks legit. I'm going to have to try this out.
Great video!!!!
I just had dinner and this video made me super hungry.
The most surprising thing was Jeremy never hearing of a Texas Twinkie before. Fully expect to see that video soon on the channel. All of that food looked amazing.
That one guy loses points for buying Springsteen tickets…..
You mean the guy that helped create the modern bbq craze in Texas? The Texas Monthly BBQ Editor, responsible for the Texas Monthly Top 50 List? The author of The Prophets of Smoked Meats, Daniel Vaughn? That guy? Lol....that one guy. That's hilarious.
@@jonboring2877 yep.
I wasn’t talking about the bbq part at all. Thanks for playing
So what you're saying is, I need to buy a plane ticket and fly out to Texas so I can get a killer meal at Goldee's!
Not gonna lie.. I'd probably fanboy you too if I recognized you out there. You have been a YUGE help with my backyard bbqs over the last few years. Congrats on your success buddy.
10 seconds into this. that butter is one huge tip. Gonna try it
Just a suggestion for a future video(s). You could review the packages of pre prepared ribs from grocery stores that just need to be cooked is all. I’d be curious to find out if they are any good?!?
Nice!
can you demonstrate in a video how to make the best bark and render the fat on brisket?
mine turns out just okay.
You should do a video on Cattleack BBQ. I would put Cattleack and Goldee's as my top 2 in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. In fact, Cattleack's sausage might be my favorite.
Brad makes ordinary BBQ videos great!
Dude you should go to burnt bean Co in Seguin. Would love to see your review of that place
Hey! Grits are the untapped soul of soooo many recipes.
Jeremy, when you gonna come over to NC and try Prime bbq? It’s my absolute favorite. Near Raleigh
Really is the best bbq I’ve ever had, glad I live so close
Have you made it down to the Burnt Bean (Seguin, TX)? It’s the best I’ve had in Texas. I haven’t yet made it up to Dallas for Goldees. But everything at the Burnt Bean is incredible, EVERYTHING.
BB is easily the best in TX. Texas Monthly got it wrong....probably because Goldee's is in their backyard.
The best bbq in the world is very personal. I subscribe to Chudds and Jeremy’s channel. Don’t have room for a big offfset smoker so I follow Bradley’s Webber series combined with Jeremy’s S&P method with a wrap of Waygu, perfection.
I'm ready to fly there just to try the BBQ..
I live in Michigan but its on my bucket list!
Would have liked to see a tour of the kitchen / smokers etc...
On the list to drive up and have. I've had majority of the top 10 list but Goldees wasn't open last time I was going through DFW. Living in Austin it's like "but I have 4 of the top 10 closer." One day 😀
Time for The Mad Scientist to move to Texas!
Willl need to check out, shocked as I've never heard of this place before and thought Franklins was the best bc everyone talked about it. Good to know.
Oklahoma has some mighty fine central texas style bbq like Edge Craft bbq in OKC and 1907 bbq in Tulsa and for fancy bbq checkout Iron Starr Urban bbq in OKC
Next time you need a place to stay in Utah I got a warm bed and a smoker close to Park City!
Utah? Please let me know where I can stop by and say hi!!
Bradley just coming out for a bite looking like he always does. Makes me wonder about his wardrobe.
I live 25min away in Dallas and Goldee's has the best ribs Ive ever had in my 40yrs on this planet. Hehe Awesome vid, great content!
If I lived 25 minutes away, I would weigh 600 pounds!
@@Iowaclass65 And you'd be broke too lol
Pretty sure you are from Kentucky if I remember correctly. I hope your area was not affected by the flooding. Love the show, can't wait to cook my first brisket.
Need to get down there and try it out. The list of BBQ joints on my Eating list is out of control.
Lifting that guy wasn't easy!!! Great job
