Latin Phrases Everyone Should Know
Cogito Ergo Sum is my favourite quote.
Great one!
Latin is Noble, strong and more than beautiful. The language that mesmerize and convince the audience.
Very true!
My favourite is "Momento Mori, Momento Vivere."
It means remember you must die, remember to live.
I see a lot of people saying momento mori, but I think the full quote is better.
Great one!
Memento*
Tempus fugit Especially when learning is such fun Thank you👍
Glad you enjoy it!
"Stat crux dum volvitur orbis"
(The cross stands while the world turns.)
For those who love the Lord...
If nothing remains constant in the midst of change, everything descends into chaos. The cross is like a single coordinate point in the map of life, while other things are moving, shifting and changing, this point remains fixed, providing us with the needed reference point to guide our orientation and chart our direction. The cross stands erect, unshaken even in the midst of the tumultuous storms of life and the crisis which trails every moment of transition and change.
Great one!
I'm not Christian, but I like the idea.
Tempus Fugit
Great one!
'Tempus volat, hora fugit' but yeah
Memento Mori
Great one!
recedite plebes, gero rem imperialum - as i'm walking through the office
😅 Nice!
I always liked Facta, non verba.
Great one!
Ego sum bigus dicus, non ego parvus dicus
😅
@@EasyLatin I told my friend about this and he said to say "Maximum phallum habeo. Minimum phallum habes" but I would never insult the good magister. Besides wouldn't it be parvus phallum habes?
Actually in ancient Rome to have a large phallus meant you hadn't much between the ears - saying someone had a big schlon was an insult...
Do you find it... risible? When I say the name... Biggus... Dickus?
Latin, the language of ancient Rome, is the mother of Romance languages, the most beautiful languages in the world:

ROMÂNĂ 🇷🇴
Fraților, ceea ce facem în viață rezonează în eternitate.
Facimus, not facis.
And “resonet” is a present subjunctive.
Pretty sure it's 'audaces fortuna iuvat'; seems more poetic than 'the strong'.
That's a good one!
I like
Thanks!
Magna est veritas et praevalebit.
Gratias tibi ago!
Mori: morir (Spanish) to die (English)
In Italy we study latin using the "church" pronunciation, so it is a little bit strange we you pronunciate the latin.
In vino veritas
Where can I find out how to pronounce latin words. Is there any place that I can enter the word and it shows english spelling on how to pronounce it?

In Latin et ke-ter-a The "c" in Latin is always a hard "k" sound
