I was the judge for all 5 solves. Definitely insanely cool to see everything up close. Congrats Max! You truly deserve all of the records you achieve! I literally froze after the 7.19 and began to fumble the pen haha

I’ve been cubing since I was an 11 year old 6th-grader back in 2008. I’ve solved the cube hundreds of thousands of times throughout the years, and it’s been the most persistent interest throughout my entire life. I like pretty much all of the different events from blindfolded to 7x7, the only events which I’m not really interested in are 2x2 (not stimulating) but more than anything, I never have and still don’t get why anyone enjoys one handed, or even worse, when feet solving used to be an event. These events just add artificial barriers outside of the puzzle itself, and handicapping myself just doesn’t appeal to me. Don’t get me wrong, I do solve one handed sometimes, but I do it only to further build up my skill set in order to improve at regular solving. In my mind, there’s only two benefits to one handed. The first benefit is that it builds up your finger dexterity. The second reason is for practicing look ahead and creative solutions, which one handed makes easier since the solve is slower and thus allows for more time to think. Those are honestly the only reasons I see to practice OH.
@@Pomni740 okay bro. 1) this is an OH video, not 3x3. 2) Max currently has 11 WRs in events he actively competes in and practices, while Yiheng only has the 3x3 average. 3) every other event Yiheng is good at are just one look events, while Max is good at events that require actual endurance
he's probably thought about it but not bothered to do it cause he's beating all the roux solvers with cfop roux for OH seems better since every continental OH record outside of NA was done with roux

You never see world records where the last solve is the best one, so this is really impressive! I couldn't imagine being under that much pressure.
