Not only that but the last interaction he had from any person from Ketil's farm was Thorgil trying to murder him. Pretty reasonable for Canute not want to see what an adult raging Thorfinn would do. Probably thought he'd mature to be like beserker Gardar
One of the highlights of this season is the character development of many characters; it's not just about Thorfinn, Olmar, Canute, Einar, Gardar, etc. Even if the entire season had no battles, I would've enjoyed it just as much. On a side note, I hope you consider watching "Monster" or "Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood" in my opinion, they're up there with the best shows ever made not just anime.
As to why canute didn't want to meet thorfinn. Thorfinn during their last meet tried to kill canute because canute took life of askeladd. Canute still thinks that after 4 years thorfinn may be seeking the same revenge and has come to yet again attack him.
This anime is worth watching, but only for personal enjoyment. I don't think it's worth making a reaction. There are many other works that raise important issues and don't just tell an "interesting story"
@@umarsubhan7035 "Zankyou no Terror", "A Silent Voice", "Mushoku Tensei", "The Promised Neverland" (the manga is much better, but the adaptation is also good), "To You the Immortal", "Heavenly Delusion", "91 Days", "Hell's Paradise" (interesting, but almost ordinary), "Dororo"... Well, there are many interesting works, but only a few remain in the heart.

the last interaction between thorfin and canute was thorfinn cutting canute's face and canute making him a slave
