I personally wouldn’t want to put a turbo that low uncovered. Was there not room closer to the manifolds to squeeze one in? I have a ‘24 IS500 and I want to do a single turbo also but I don’t think I could handle the stress of it being located there.
@@kurtfehlman8403 no, there's zero room inside the engine bay to fit a turbo hence the location. But it does have a custom skid plate to protect the turbo from debris and water splash. If you check my IG you will see the plate, it's not in this video, I removed it so you could see the turbo setup.
The bonnet is already carbon fiber, I just painted it to match the car, I left the vents in carbon fiber if you look closely. I'm still actively looking for the matching seibon CF trunk.
Very curious though if 2 small turbos would fit where the primary cats are located because after market headers are huge why would turbos like a comp 565 would not work?
That area is too tight, you can barely fish the starter out with the factory headers installed. Also, turbo needs wastegate to limit boost, which means you'd have to fit the wastegates somewhere there also. It would be too congested, plus turbo maintenance would be a nightmare.

It probably could but you'd be putting alot of heat on the trans case and the chare pipping
