Both the rig that you made and the one you sketched were awesome I’m not big into cinematography but they look awesome none the less.

Excellent tutorial. Could you just make a “right angle” truss, brace it with a diagonal brace thus eliminating one side of the truss?

Nice rig, nice shots. But for the new light … why not just put normal stands inside the cam rig, I don’t get the point about the half circle bars ¿

Just found your channel and am a new sub. Did you end up making a video on the details on this rig? I'm specifically interested in the rotational joint. Cheers.

      They are called pillow blocks!

@@jordanholifield2426 Thanks Jordan - I'm a little familiar with pillow blocks. Is this something that was custom built or is it from a vendor like Modern Studio?

Hello! Can you ask your Key Grip what they used for the pivots on this rig? Trying to find.

Wouldn't you end up seeing your lighting rig if it were inside the camera rig? You'd eliminate the shadows, but then at a certain cross point wouldn't you also see the lighting rig? Awesome grip rig and lighting execution for this commercial.

Not if the rig was super wide so that the lighting supports were just outside the FOV of the camera. But... you bring up a good point because when the camera is horizontal, the lighting support on the opposite side of the rig will probably be in the FOV... unless your lens is pretty tight and the rig is crazy wide. Haha.
