Ordered a pair the day they were released. Really liking them so far. It seems like going a full size down as Kevin did with the pair he sent to you would have resulted in a better fit, but I throw my Nick’s delta arch half insoles in them and they fill out the extra bit of room just fine. I ended up putting a few light coats of Smith’s Leather Balm on mine followed by a good brushing to give them a subtle sheen like most of the promo photos.
Nice review. I’m looking for a shoe very much along the lines of that Derby. I simply don’t have much of a need for a bunch of boots with a lot of rise, but I do need something relatively tough and supportive given I work on concrete many hours a day. Red Wing wedge sole shop oxfords are my go to, but these would be a nice option too.
I don't have the confidence to wear those Red Wing shoes. Love the boots, but i can't do the shoes! :) I can't comment on long-term supportiveness, but i do like these a great deal.
@@rockymtnstyle I agree those shoes look best suited for denim and chinos. With that in mind, I’m not sure I’d frame them as dress shoes, they are far too casual.
Great to hear you talking about Caswell. Thanks Patrick, the company is nearby as you said.
These look sweet! I've been considering getting some dress/casual shoes and these are definitely a candidate. Thanks Patrick!

Good stuff. I think Kevin did a great job here for an initial offering and am excited to see what else he cooks up.
I don't know about ebbtide nutmeg those look just like the briar oil slick to me. Top three leather red wing makes.
Yeah, I'd agree that it looks similar in tone.
