End of an Era: The Story of CS:GO's Last Major

  • You don’t always know when will be the last time.
You don’t always get to choose when an era is over.
We knew for sure that, as the last CS:GO Major, Paris would be the end of something. But it still managed to surprise us.
The Paris Major showed us exactly how far Counter-Strike has come.
And just like the game itself, it wasn’t what we expected… but it was even better than we thought.

Might be late to comment this but here I go :
When the Major happened I was literally returning home from getting deployed, I went all the way to Paris to watch the whole thing unfold. I've been a Vitality fan since the early days of the team, actually met Apex at a bar once and got to drink a beer with the guy in 2019. Anyways.
The emotions, the cast, the crowd... Everything was so awesome, I cried when Vitality won cuz hell why not. The crowd was insanely supportive of other teams as well.
Met fun people at the Major, got to finally meet a good friend I met on CS in 2016 when we were teeenagers and now the guy is an engineer and a dad.
I guess it was just more than an event for me, because I've been playing CS:GO since 2013, it was the last, and it was a goodbye to a game that I've spent so much time in my teenage years and early adult years. That single event gave me so much emotions, not only because of the game I love so much, but all the history alongside it, especially the personnal history.
I'll always miss CS:GO, because I'll always miss the simpler times.
To whoever would read all that, thanks a lot, and enjoy the journey in and out of the game

honestly ppl are complaining about the new tourney single elim rules but its way better for the fans and for the players since it keeps it way more exciting since your team could be eliminated in one game you have more people watching the match even with up and comeing rosters meaning more money for the players and more excitement for fans meaning a better chance for the community to grow and reach a bigger audience
