TBH that resonates with me. This is a country where we value our freedoms. It would be good for them to be able to do what they're doing in an accessible way that doesn't endanger the lives or health of anyone who's not part of the scene.
That would be the logical solution except that like everything else good in the world, Money wrecks everything. In this case the cost of insurance would be Beyond astronomical because the potential for injury is extremely high. Even if that were somehow overcome the lawsuits would have it shut down in under a year.
Some tracks have tried. They don’t come because they don’t want to pay any entry fee.
I love this liability.

You might think these guys are ok. But their events attract the wrong crowd that incites violence and dangerous driving. More than 2 people have died during these events. “Street racers” drive full speed through residential streets in the A.M. they left tire marks on private parking lots all over. How’s this acceptable to other residents in Minneapolis?
I mean, the marks in the parking lot doesn't really do anything, that'll wash away eventually.

"They should make a legal pit" they do, there is 3 racetracks around Minnesota that have drift events almost every weekend all summer. Take it to the track, keep this off the streets, you're killing the car community to those of us that actually do drift.

You have to hit Los Angeles and cover the street takeover scene out there!
They always start the meet up there at the Farmers Market spot. Cops know... They are on them quick. Then they go to 2nd street North, then to Northeast Mpls., then they go to Energy Park in St. Paul area
2 young people were shot and killed as bystanders at two separate meet ups. My friend is the one who videoed that live stream of them in Uptown shooting a Long gun out the window as they drifted...
These guys are straight out ruining what decent people, actual car guys, took years to build. Those sort of showoffs in my country, we literally call them "penis measurement competition", that's the rep these people get here.
Just like how fast and furious got turned into a freaking Marvel like joke, it's happening the same with the car community, unfortunately.

For all the wrong reasons. Takeovers do nothing but make the car scene look bad
We don't need to be put on the map we already had a good street racing scene in the twin cities before takeovers were a thing. Used to meet up every weekend at the abandoned Sears lot off rice street and from there we would go roll racing on the freeway or drag race on Shepard down by the river or off Kasota Ave.
