This is from Saturday Night Live. Colin is married to Scarlet Johansson. They wrote each others jokes and haven’t seen them before. Always good for a laugh.
To add to this there was some controversy when Scarlett was cast in Ghost in the Shell, a live action movie based on a Japanese manga. People said they were white washing the cast.
@@brandonaston301Nearly every anime portrays their main cast of characters as white. Naruto had blue eyes and blonde hair, who's gonna tell me he was Asian? Kusanagi had black hair and blue eyes, a combination most commonly found in the British Isles. Ichigo is GINGER! SJWs should chill when it comes to anime/manga adaptations lest they find out the reason the good guys are always lighter skinned and the bad guys are darker skinned, especially if the "bad guy organization" is Korean or Chinese. I'll give you a hint, it's because Japanese society views themselves as the "whites" of the Eastern world. Lighter skin (a skin tone literally called Royal Japanese or Rich Ivory) is considered genetically desirable and they often view other Asians as darker and less civilized. So people crying about anime/manga characters getting "whitewashed" when the creators/producers/animators already whitewashed them are getting angry at perceived racism and ignoring the actual racism it was adapted from. 😂
Colin Jost and Michael Che (pronounced "chay") anchor the Weekend Update segment on Saturday Night Live. Their recurring "joke swap" bits originally started with the premise that they were simply exchanging jokes, but all of the jokes that Che wrote for Jost were blatantly offensive in a clear attempt to get Jost in trouble, and so the subsequent "joke swaps" have simply been the two of them trying to get each other "canceled." It's all in good fun, with everyone understanding that none of it is actually sincere, but they play it up for the laughs.
Weekend Update is the sort of news piece in the program "Saturday Night Live" which has been running since 1975. These 2 are current hosts of Weekend Update.
This comes from a long running segment on Saturday Night Live called Weekend Update, where a comedic take on recent news is read. Another feature of this is that there's often commentary on a certain subject presented by certain characters. One of the best characters that appeared on this segment was cultural correspondent Stefon (played by Bill Hader). His interpretation of "culture" in New York City is interesting to say the least.😁
Roseanne Roseannadanna was the greatest guest commentary......RIP Gilda then Father Guido Sarducci. And the best host (tie) Chevy Chase and Norm Mcdonald.......then these 2 in 3rd...imho
For as long as Colin Jost and Michael Che have been the Weekend Update anchors, they usually save this segment for the last show before Christmas or the last show of the season.
This is "Saturday Night Live" it has been going on for decades and a must watch. Funnier about this skit is that they each write a joke for the other one to read..
They write each other’s joke only one time a year. It’s called “Weekend Update,” and is a part of a weekly comedy show called Saturday Night Live. They are the head comedy writers for the show.
Colin Jost and Michael Che are the news anchors on very long running live sketch show called SNL. The show has a famous host every week and a guest musical act. It's been on for almost 50 years. This sketch runs around 10 minutes every weekend it's on. There's been a lot of anchors on that show but Jost and Che are the best. Jost is married to Scarlett Johansson. That's why Che made the Johansson joke.
Hoping and praying for all the best as you await the arrival of "Baby Bee 🐝 !" 😍 I'm sure they'll be the cutest little squish ever and so excited for you to parent this little one! ❤
Yes more colin & che. I watch them every Saturday night & they have a funny news segment in the middle of the show. Saturday night Live has been on for over 45yrs or so. You should watch some of it & they always have a famous person as a host for that week & then they have the live show on Saturday. So many great comedians came from Saturday Night Live like Chevey Chase, Bill Murry, Eddie Murphy, Will Farrell, Jimmy Fallon, Mike Myers, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Pete Davidson by & Amy Poler, Tina Fey, Christen Wigg, Julia Loui Dryfuss, Jane Curtain, Mya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon & so many more & then they have a musical act which are usually having a record being released. Colin & Pete actually bought a retired NYC water fairy & going to do something with it. Scarlett & colin had a new baby boy named Kosmo last year. The show is really funny, & lots of British hosts(tv & movie stars) & famous bands , cold play , rita ora, Adele was a host & was HILARIOUS & a music act at other times. Imagine almost 50yrs of comedy and music every Saturday night & it's LIVE not taped. I've loved watching Graham Norton's talk show it's kinda like that but lots of funny skits. 💜😍😻💐🙏
Saturday Night Live started in 1975, and Weekend Update has been a part of the show from the beginning. Its done in the style of a news program, with the anchor or anchors making fun of current events. The segment usually runs for about 10 minutes, in the middle of the 90 minute long show.
This is from SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, it's called WEEKEND UPDATE, they just give you real news stories with funny jokes , it's the best part of Saturday night live. That montage was not all joke swaps BTW, just a couple were. I highly recommend you do more of these 2 , they are hilarious 👍🍀
Weekend Update has been one of the best segments of the TV series Saturday Night Live. It started in the 70s with hosts like Jane Curtain and Dan Akroyd and honestly, this is finally as good as it used to be in the 70s.
It's Colin Jost and Michael Che (rhymes with say or pray). They co-host a news show skit on Saturday Night Live called weekend update. The skit has been a part of Saturday Night Live since the show's beginnings in the 1970s. Over the years, it's been hosted by many comedians who became very well known, like Tina Fey. I just so happened to have seen Colin and Michael recently in D.C. They've been touring together doing stand-up comedy since the writer's strike has been going on and Saturday Night Live is on hiatus because of it. This particular version of Weekend Update is a favorite because Colin writes jokes for Michael to read and vice versa. They read them for the first time without having seen them. As you can tell, Michael Che makes Colin read racist jokes a lot and Colin makes Che read jokes about his sex life and about putting down women.
It’s pronounced “Shay”… and he goes on legion of skanks occasionally, which I love, because they just try to get him cancelled from SNL. 😂 Best pod ever.
Colin Jost (rhymes with "most") and Michael Che (pronounced "Chay") are the current "faux news" anchors on the long-running "Saturday Night Live" comedy sketch show's "Weekend Update" segment. In real life, Colin Jost is married to actress Scarlett Johansson, hence the joke about Scarlett playing Sammy Davis Jr. in the Frank Sinatra biopic. 🙂
It’s Collin and Che (like Chay) love these guys in SNL. This is on obviously every Saturday night and it’s live so there are sometimes mistakes and bad things that happen but they got smart and started putting on the six second delay and there on for may be 5 to 10 minutes of the show because there’s a whole bunch of skits that they do but you should Google a couple of them! FYI, Scarlett Johansson is Colin Josts wife. Saturday night live has it been around since the year I was born in 1971 and a couple times it was going to get canceled but it’s still going and has had some amazing actors that started on there and you should Google that it’s interesting. How many massive stars started on SNL! And Collin is always joking that he’s going to get beat up in the parking lot when he leaves after having to read those jokes. 😅😂
This started out as a joke swap, but about half way through became regular jokes from the bit. They had seen, the jokes and perhaps even written them themselves. You can tell the difference. The joke swap is usually meant to embarrass the other one and Che takes credit for one joke he tells, saying he stands by it.
Saturday Night Live is a 50+ year live broadcast television show that airs late night Saturday. They have a different guest star & musical guest every week & they do skits with the guest star & Weekend Update is a popular segment with the 2 comedians. Saturday Night Live (SNL) has it's own UA-cam channel & you can usually find Weekend Update broken into a few clips along with the rest of the show. Most US shows that run weekly start in September & take a break between Thanksgiving (the 4th Thursday in November) & January. I don't know exactly what SNL's schedule will be this season since the Writers' & Actors' unions are on strike - but there's a lot of SNL videos on UA-cam. Lots of the skits are based around current events here - lots of funny political skits (but you probably don't want to post reaction to those since you try to stay away from politics - they are pretty funny though). Saturday Night Live alumni have traditionally been some of the US's best comedic actors as well.
The Google Earth joke is referencing the idea that "Colin's grandfather", or basically any older white person, is upset that their neighborhood is more ethnically diverse now.
The statement is about change in general. The joke is that the specific change which often incites the complaint is "those people" moving into the area (for many terrible values of "those people"). And sadly, it's a relatable joke because most of us have heard both the words and the underlying meaning. Not always, but often enough to be relatable.
Che is pronounced CHAY!! Colin is married to Scarlet Johannsen. Weekend Update is a 10-minute segment, where they cover all the news events that happened over the last week.
It’s Colin Jost and Michael Che. They do a small segment every Saturday (during the live season) presenting the news. Sometimes they do this trick, and write each others jokes. Edit- sorry- on Saturday Night Live (TV)
It's a segment on Saturday Night live. They have been doing this segment for 30+ years. These two decided to do the joke swap on their run to change it up.
So this is a segment on SNL (Saturday Night Live) called Weekend Update, where they read news headlines and make it funny (it looks similar to this video), and they also have "guests" on. However, they don't do this joke swap every episode (where they write each other's jokes to make it humiliating and terrible to say). They might only do this joke swap twice a year (or something).
There’s a writers room that approves all the jokes, and probably writes 90% of them. Bonnie McFarlane just started writing for SNL. And she’s brutally funny (not even for a girl!! For a real human!!)🤣🤣
Che is pronounced Chay not Chee. You saw about 3-4 years of Weekend Update skits doing this about once a year. To find it on UA-cam I search “SNL Year”. SNL might not be carried in the UK because so much of its humor is local to the USA. It’s run since 1976 or 1978 ! Che wrote the Scarlet Johannessen joke because news of Colin’s engagement to the Marvel Avengers star was out. She has hosted SNL 6 times and in her 6th appearance roasted her husband in the opening monologue
They are a duo on Saturday Night Live. They do this segment every week. These are probably a composite of several weeks jokes. They have these posted on UA-cam all the time. I believe that they are friends on and off the show. Not sure about that, though.
I think you guys would like reacting to some SNL skits, I’m sure people will recommend the best ones. (Saturday Night Live, one of those things you forget might just be a stateside phenomenon 😂)
The Gucci one is stereotyping that if you give black people money they'll rush out to spend it all on designer stuff. The time lapse Google Earth one- grandpa is mad at how his neighborhood has diversified over the last 40 years.
Weekend Update is the 'news' part of Saturday Night Live it's been happening for decades. The 'joke swap' is not really a good introduction to either of their comedy because it is filled with in-jokes for fans of the show. I would look for a different Weekend Update compellation from them or just one from Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live in general. I think Seth Meyers, Tina Fey and Norm McDonald were the best update anchors and Amy Poehler was a great co-anchor with both Tina and Seth. Colin is married to Scarlet Johannsson so that's why her name comes up in the jokes Che makes Colin read.
the 5 million dollar reperation joke is a reference that black people spend their money on bling. it's basically a "black people can't handle money" joke.

Saturday Night Live used to be such an amazing staple in American culture in the 80s-90s and then it fell apart and haven’t been what it used to be since, these two however, embody the original spirit of the show and are probably (in my opinion) the only good thing about the show nowadays
This is from the “weekend update” skit on ‘Saturday Night Live’ (SNL) where they make jokes about current events. Once or twice a season they do the “joke swap” version. Che delights in writing racist jokes for Colin to read (that or jokes about Colin’s wife- actress Scarlett Johansson). Weekend update is basically the only part of SNL worth watching anymore. Sometimes the cold open is worth checking out as well, but otherwise the rest of SNL is never worth watching anymore. At one point they spun ‘weekend update’ off into its own show during SNL’s off season for a year, but unfortunately they only did that once.
Since you didn't get it, I'll just let you know that Grandpa. Seeing the neighborhood change over the last 40 years was funny. Be Cos 40 years ago, there was a lot more rarity to people of color moving into neighbors of white people. So the basic joke had to do with Grandpa's scenery and changed. From what was terrible to what is really great, but it's said with sarcasm.
If you get a chance go back and watch when Seth Myers was the host for weekend update. He had a cast mate named Stefon who is pretty famous and hilarious
Unfortunately, this compilation cut out all the reactions from the co-hosts. The main reason this segment is funny is because each person writes jokes to intentionally make the other person look bad. So the fun is seeing the reaction after each joke is delivered. Whoever made the compilation clearly didn't understand that.

At one point they spun ‘weekend update’ off into its own show during SNL’s off season for a year, but unfortunately they only did that once.
Never worth watching even though the bring in people like Becky G and Travis Kelce on SNL? Pfft
The ORIGINAL cast of SNL was beyond compare!! 🥰
All you would have to do is listen to the first ten seconds of their
Show and they would say the names. Sheesh.
Had to watch it again. Ho larry is!
He had a cast mate named Stefon who is pretty famous and hilarious
grew up on SNL. as a New Yorker it hurts to know that it has fallen, so that young people don't know what it is.
Too bad they didn't do the Superman jokes. They are hilarious.
full names : COLIN JOST AND MICHAEL CHE
Hi
Unfortunately, this compilation cut out all the reactions from the co-hosts. The main reason this segment is funny is because each person writes jokes to intentionally make the other person look bad. So the fun is seeing the reaction after each joke is delivered. Whoever made the compilation clearly didn't understand that.
The "dont remind me" said my grandpa joke meant POC moved in and whites moved out.. its another racial joke basically.
it's apart of Saturday Night Live, it's not the whole show
It’s so wholesome that you didn’t “get” the racist ones😂. Makes me think the U.S. might really be more racist than the UK😬
nick cannon has like fifteen kids
Colin and Chay (pronounced)
The sad thing is that those 10 minutes comprise the majority of time "SNL" has been funny for the past decade.
Loved this ! Cringeworthy but funny as hell
SNL!
All though they tell jokes every week The joke swap is only 3 times a year.
All of these jokes, and they fired Norm McDonald over OJ jokes.
Didn't show some of the best ACTUAL joke swaps they did!
