- Meet the designer of the Great Alaskan! Brian Dixon stops by to visit Millie and we talk a bit about boats. See the latest exterior work and hear the latest news. We’re getting very close to the maiden voyage.
Absolutely beautiful boat, there are 2 things that could make it better though..a fish flopping on deck, and your smile seeing it. Fantastic!!!
I will make sure that gets filmed. Gonna be fun…
Such a cool boat. Congratulations Randy. Can’t wait to see it on the water.
Thanks Brian!
Congratulations. I've followed this build from the very beginning. Well done!
You have much patience! I thought two years, coming up on three. It’s been fun, but I need to see her run.
I’ve built two stitch and glue boats (two man kayak and pram) but that is amazing. Well done!
She looks awesome!!! Great job, Randy!!
Thanks Mark. Appreciate it. I hope it floats.
Congratulations Randy! Great job! Beautiful boat!
Thank you! I’m quite pleased (and ready to go fishing).
Really, really looks good. Can't wait to see some videos with her on the water. Hope you'll take us on your trips, at least the first few.
Oh there will be videos. I wouldn’t skip that after all these videos!
SUPER!
You're "smelling" the finish line.
Great to see Brian and his Bride live on the deck of his latest child. 🙂
That was a really fun meeting, very nice person and his bride is a kick. With no boat to work on today, I’m able to do… yard work!
That's the sharpest one I've seen. It'll be great to see it on the water.
I figure I still have 100+ hours of finishing work to do to get her where I want it, but she’ll get us fishing this summer. Thanks for watching!
Hey Hey!!!
You did it!
WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Yea, I did! Time for another retirement party!
Very Nice!
Thanks! Next video will be fun as well.
Wow! A true work of art. Looks gorgeous. Any comments on the painting?
Painting is hard! If you have the space, spray it on. One and done more or less. The rolling worked well and looks good. I like the Interlux Perfection and it seems rock-hard, but it’s spendy. Just double or triple your expected prep time. I’ll be redoing some patches next winter.
@@rhenryinoregon Thanks Randy
Nice boat! What's the fastest speed you could manage to squize from this boat and 200hp motor?
Hi! I can hit 38 mph with two people aboard. Plenty fast for me.
@@rhenryinoregon good to know, thanks! Trying to figure out how slow it's gonna be be with only 100-130hp
