Sea trials today at Detroit Lake in the North Santiam Canyon. Boat worked very well and runs like a dream. Nearly 3 years of work and I’m quite happy with the product!
Yes, the boat was designed by Brian Dixon about 20 years ago. Probably 100+ have been built? He still manages the website at www.glacierboats.com. He’s as involved in your build as you want him to be. As noted two videos ago, he came down from Idaho to see my build and gave me a hat and some decals! The plans are super reasonable too and give you access to the builders’ website. You can even buy a kit where major hull components are precut on a big CNC machine in Bend Oregon. I did mine from scratch but many others have done the kit. The kit shaves off several months of work and the scarfing joints are phenomenally accurate. Plus you get a MIC code for east insurance and registration (manufacturers identification code from USCG). More available at the website.
Well done! I think we can all be grateful for the wives who put up with our little projects, even if they take 2 1/2 years!
Ahhh so AWESOME!
She looks good and I think she is gonna LOVE the water!
Congratulation Randy. 🙂
HUZZAH! Well done sir! Love the boat 💯

A floating work of art for sure. Congratulations Randy!

Beautiful boat! Congratulations
Outstanding!! Looks like it runs perfectly, great job!
Well, “perfectly” might be an overstatement, but it ran well. There are builder bugs that I’ll work out this week. But thanks! I’m pretty pleased.
What an awesome boat! Good video series and can't wait to see more on the water.
Looking good Randy
Great job Randy!! Congrats on the splash.
Thanks Mark! Pretty exciting! And I hear the bite is on. Time to get fishing!
Congratulations from the building mv dauntless crew. 🎊 we understand what an undertaking it is to build your dream. 😊 one more year for us.
I’m gonna have to spend some time watching your videos. Looks like quite a project!
Fantastic!
Thanks. And rock fishing is something on my agenda in the next couple weeks. I’ve been going through withdrawals this summer.
Cool stuff
Your boat looks great. In your last video you told us someone designed the boat for you. Can we get any info on him.thanks
