Tipper Downtempo Sound Design and Arrangement (Ableton and Vital Tutorial)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 24 лют 2021
- In this tutorial, I will be demonstrating downtempo sound design and arrangement in the style of Tipper, utilizing Vital and Ableton.
Start off with a beautiful plucky melody, layer with atmospheric textures, and decorate with a hefty amount of creatively pitch bent and filtered saw waves, and you're off to meet the machine elves.
The sound design is elaborate, but the arrangement even more so. I'd recommend you to loop your melody and let the new ideas come to you, incorporating them one by one until you have a full psychedelic soundscape.
I wish you luck in your creative journey.

Please don’t ever apologize for videos being long when you’re taking the time to explain things to us. No rush, you’re doing a great job teaching and tbh I prefer/appreciate you going in depth
thanks for the kind words
i worry about length because i feel like the same depth can often be reached in a more concise way
i think simpler/more to the point explanations are better absorbed & i dont want to waste any of your precious time!!!
Yeah bro the longer the vid and the more in depth you go the better the tutorial and the more we all learn.
So please keep it up bro and keep on making vids like this
Exactly… your video dude, good job.. Respect from Modern Music for Funerals. Kudos.
Completely agree
Finally someone making some tipper tutorials
Tipper the 👑
Today I decided to join your patreon, but couldn't yet, since I had lotta work at my job, but tomorrow I will. I really want to have acces to everything you create man. For me you are the truly inspiration to keep learning about producing, sound design and squanch your work will be a privilege for me. Also I will learn a lot. TY Bunting, you are the 🐐
Thrift works or mystic grizzly next ! This is next level
Thriftworks for sure I already know how he does it but I'd love to see your take on it.
Thriftworks!!!!
Is Thriftworks career ruined? Bc of the rape accusations..
@@wired-up5677 Seriously, I've been listening to Thriftworks for almost 8 Years now and I still can't get close to his style. Would love some tutorial
New thrift was fire
This is awesome. Tipper has been my favourite artist for so many years and now I've finally gained a tiny bit of insight into how he creates his dream-weaved sonic masterpieces. Thank you for this! Big love
just now getting around to this one, and boy oh boy, you are one criminally obscure producer. You make it look effortless, and every time you do one of these tutorials, I come away with something new. I've only been at the electronic music making for about a year, and have a ways to go before I will feel comfortable fucking around with everything, but you are a huge inspiration for me, and I can't thank you enough for your contributions bro. peace
Dude you inspire me so much, you are exactly what this scene has needed tutorial wise for so long. Keep crushing it man!
DUDE THIS IS NASTY!!!!!!!! good shit dude i love it!
Love you Bunting !
Awesome vid as always. keep up the amazing work!
Great. can't wait for more tipper stuff
You really have been one of the best instructors on UA-cam. Keep it up homie 👍
you are really creative and also able to simplify techniques and approaches. Amazing man, keep it going, learning a lot.
so excited to sit down and learn me some knowledge right now
Amazing video man love what you're doing on this channel! Keep up the good work homie!
Love it more downtempo pleassse
I never knew the saw would be so versatile, thank you!
very cool indeed. Arrangement is the one thing i struggle with when it comes to downtempo music, great video looking forward to more
This is like a dream come true, Tipper is my n.1 favorite artist and I've been waiting for another video about him! Let's see what you've got for us
check out Flintwick and Drrtywulvz
@@brovakiin117 sorry for the delay in answering, hadn't seen your response. I know and love both of them! If I can give you something back for the tip, check out Resonant Language and Kalya Scintilla.
I totally agree with you Tipper is something else completely. Still in awe when I hear 'older' albums of him. So much originality, imagination, detail, sonically on a completely different level and, musical on top of it all. The man deserves all the awards, he is just genius, period.
Bunting you're insanely talented dude. A sound design savant & a fantastic teacher, the best music production teacher on UA-cam imo! Looking forward to seeing you on the Main Stage at festivals in the future. 👊
This is invaluable
Great work man!!
One of the best downtempo tutorials on UA-cam. LIked & Subscribed.
Yiss, Thanks again!
Dawg I've been searching for producers of a certain style and caliber to learn from for years and years. You are BY FAR the best online teacher for these types of underground bass sound and texture design. I, along with the gods of frequency, thank you my friend
@Bunting you da best mane
10/10 introduction
Seriously gotta say, such a dope tutorial. Like damn, I learned so much tbh could have been even longer and I'd have not been upset
thank you for all that youu have presented here~
nice video. subbed. keep em coming
The MOMENT it dropsss...... YEZZIR! Fucking CLEAN
dude i came across your vidoes trying to figure out downtempo and free form and i have to say your god sent my dude fuckn love your style
Damn that absolutely sounds like sayonara lol. Also!!! I think you would do good to do some of these sounds more in the wavetable editor/additive side of vital, tipper uses additive a lot, try using the built-in additive filters they sound clean af.
amazing
I seriously can't believe I've forgotten to sub till now! :(
I've gotten several people into both Vital and your instructions!!
keep it up man, you're a monster
Absoluely fucking gorgeous. Love the tutorials. Keep up the stellar work.king lovel
You are awesome
Tippers got me wanting to make some music
Thank you for all the hard work. Hopefull you can start getting some ad revenue off these tuts and get some better equipment.
Keep up the good work!

Quality
Thanks bunting love you dog appreciate everything you do
Noice!
"Don't listen to me... Anyways listen to me while I tell you how to do this."🤣
Bro...!
release this song please that bass melody was god tier
He uses a nord lead synth i believe it’s the lead 2. I have the lead 4, it’s filled with the best sounds for downtempo plus billions more.
Zebbler Encanti Experience pls, specifically the bass from Inner G around 1:34.
p.s. This channel is great! Subscribed and eagerly awaiting more, awesome stuff man!
try a saw wave playing two octaves pitch bending down with abletons vocoder on top
@@BuntingMusic Don't have ableton unfortunately. Playing around with it now in fl studio with izotopes vocal synth 2. Getting interesting results and definitely a lot closer than I was. Having a hard time getting it to sound as slow and crisp as ZEE. Gonna keep messing with it.
Thank you
FLs vocoder can also give you great results, in some ways it’s better than abletons
also experiment with different high resonance filters on your saw
Siccccccc, this is dope. Please show us how to do the tiny face bass. The track from tipper
distorted sine wave + formant filter automation
@@BuntingMusic I'm fairly sure it was done using Camel Audio's Alchemy. There's a trick in the manual about using the formant filters within each oscillators filter bank, which if you follow ends up sounding very curiously familiar.
well THANK YOU, after years I manage to get that DAMN SONG out of my head, and here you come... How did that bass go?
Ooooouuuuuaaaaiiiiiieeeeeaaaaauuuuuuooooo!
🙏
Yay 1080p :)
Is it just me or is the playback of your video all kind of glitchy? Like maybe my browser isn't loading correctly but when i go back to a part that was laggy, it is always laggy there...?
btw really awesome video, only 4 mins in, but i'm already loving it so much. Incredible sounds!!
If I want to use Vital on a midi track do I just use basic operator as a sin wave?? idk I cant seem to figure this out I'm very new to making electronic music
I appreciate the suggestion from #feedbackfriday6 to watch this video. Definitely took a lot from this and will be applying some of these techniques in future production of my music. 🙏🏼
Super future and mize style fot next tutuorial?
Any chance you could do one for Pretty Lights?
Please do Charles the fifth
i have multiple videos on him already look him up!!!
You left something out in the beginning? Can’t get it to be the same :(
🥀🥀🥀🥀
Thank mate!! very usefull. You need a new CPU tho my dude
Does anyone know how to automate pitch in Vital like this in FL?
The phaser doesn't work like how you are showing?
I can't seem to find ambeo, do you know if they removed it?
9:44 wtf bro 😂
Hey thanks . What env2 is assigned to in first vital sound (bell) ?
I am predicting the fm amount
I sleep under rock no longer
Hi Bunting! I hope it is okay to copy your song structure from this video and use it on a track of my own? Thank you! 🙏
go ahead king
@@BuntingMusic You rock! Thank you!
can u do mize bass
can you give me an example - which song of his
4:55 hunger games
But, how did he make the 'voice' speech in Tiny Face, its a mystery to me..
formant filters
watch my other tipper vids i cover some of that kinda stuff
@@BuntingMusic will do will do! Just now that I had the pleasure to stumble over your channel. Subbed
CAN YOU DO MESO?
check out my deep dub tutorials
@@BuntingMusic I would also be interested in Mize bass. He uses the same patch a lot, it's prevalent in his track Grounded
comment
Don’t you just live how ableton 11 is broken?
don’t personally use it but i’ve definitely heard mostly bad things about it
I personally yet to have any issues with it.
your cpu is crying when you press play
discord isn't working
try this link instead discord.gg/QhecMp9C
I like this tutorial but the clicky lead is annoying afffffff
