@Marquis De Sade I think Norm MacDonald and Martin Short exemplify very different types of funny. Norm's funny generally comes from him just being himself, or from the elements of himself and his personality that come out in his impressions and sketches. Martin Short's humor seems to come from his total commitment to a bit or character. His humor is much more about being over the top ridiculous while Norm's is about being.... Norm. and when he Alex gave him the stare, without missing a beat. I hear you're a republican
To make these masters of comedy laugh AND break character is a testament to Short's utter genius. Jiminy is always a sure fire pick me up.
And it seems like the better the comedian, the more they get and enjoy the whole bit that is Jiminy Glick.
It's interesting how people's perceptions change as they grow and learn and gain new experiences.
I remember when I was younger, I was very rigid and didn't like strange, out of the ordinary things.
And I couldn't STAND Jiminy Glick.
I thought it was the stupidest, unfunniest, most idiotic thing ever.
I just now watched this clip and was crying from laughing so hard. This character is pure comic genius.
Times sure do change and I'm glad I did too.
SAME
That’s how I felt the first and second time watching Ferris B’s day off.
Have to chime in that I had the exact same experience. Better late than never! So many new things to enjoy.
I made the same change, and this is the exact video that made me do it. Opened up a new world for me.
Making Mel cry laughing has to be a wonderful feeling
"Do you smell burning toast?"
*Jiminy looks around concerned like his food is burning*
Lol he’s implying he’s having a stroke
"That's good old fashioned poverty" absolutely ruins me. I'll never stop laughing over that line.
I'm so happy all these huge stars love and respect Martin Short. I feel that they all love Jim Carey as well. A couple of excellent Canadians that can really crack the best of them up.
“That’s a wonderful little....STORY YOU TOLD.” 😂😂😂😂
I do not know how Jon Stewart kept from cracking up for as long as he did. That donut shtick is hilarious 😂 😃 😄
One of the funniest shows ever.
Martin Short needs to bring this back--this was hilarious
Oh, he'd be "cancelled" today. He's too much for the snowflakes out there.
@@LC-ht7sg sure buddy
So... the bits with Larry David, Ricky G. don’t count? lol (hasn’t lost it!)
Trouble is there are no more comedians to interview.
he has brought it back multiple times.. I think the last one when he had a show with Maya Rudolph.. I think that interview wiht Gervais is from that
Jimini was truly hilarious. Hard to believe he's not around now or didn't last longer... Imo this character was brilliant..
ending the video with martin short on larry king talking about the character is genius, perfect way to end a highlights video like this. congrats
"I'm a big fan of that GUYYYY."
Very few times in my life have I done a purely accidental spit take.
Best line bar none 😂
Screamsville!
Absolute genius. Come back to Jiminy again and again to cheer myself up
Glick-"you are just next door to ape arent ya?"
Baldwin stares
Glick-"you're a Republican?"
classic return shot at Alec
He is the funniest man alive. Bar NONE.
@Marquis De Sade Quite literally had my finger on the key to spell norm but you already did
@Marquis De Sade I was gonna say the same too... haaaa
Norm.
I dunno that's my two cents.
Canada loves you Martin!
This broke me out of a post-pandemic pre-apocalyptic mood.
I had to stop and start so many times, truly laughing out loud and missing the next zinger.
