Hello!! Your videos have been very helpful. I Especially have used your excel tutorial videos. I have a question that i do not believe has been addressed. And, No one seems to know the answer - that I know of... I have exported my emails into an excel spreadsheet and one column of cells contains the email body. I found that the email body is where the date for the email appears. Its no where else in the extracted emails. How can I extract the date out of the email body column? The dates are in standard date format but the email does not have a specific format or consistent character length. In other words in the text in the email body column fluctuates and is all over the place... Any ideas?
Hi Dana! One solution I can think of is using either FIND and or SEARCH functions. So for example, you have a text in cell A1 that looks like this, with the date somewhere in the middle: Hello world 01/02/2022 Greetings! Given that your date has a standard length and format, you can try a formula that looks like this: =MID(A1,(FIND("/",A1,1))-2,10) You may use SEARCH in place of FIND and it will give the same result. The idea is to try to find the date within your text so you can extract it, but the limitation of this formula is if the character you are trying to search for (in this case the slash) appears within the text before the date. If the data is delimited, say comma-separated, you can also utilize the Text to Columns function in Excel. Hope this helps!
