Pier Runners in Cozumel-Carnival Valor April 27, 2024

Watching “pier runners” (people who don’t return to the ship on-time and are in danger of the ship leaving without them) is something that many experienced cruisers enjoy doing. (Simply pick a spot with a view of the pier and gangway, and let the fun begin!) Cozumel is one of the best places in the world to see pier runners (the combination of being on vacation and not paying attention, lack of awareness of the time, the opportunity for free-flowing tequila and cerveza, and the extremely long pier make it an ideal location), and our stop here did not disappoint. All of the other (nearly 3000) guests managed to make it back to the ship on-time, but these 6 people were almost 30 minutes late. They were lucky that the Captain and crew decided to wait for them, or it would have been a long (& expensive) flight home.
