We were onboard, shortly after we left the captain jokingly came over the tannoy and apologised for the late passengers. He said they had been buying a rolex, but hadn't learnt how to use it yet 😅
If it’s the passengers’ fault, then I agree. But sometimes an excursion will get held up for this or that reason and you can’t get back to the ship on time.
@@TVHouseHistorianif you are on a cruise sponsored excursion, you will always make it back without the ship leaving. If you book your own excursion through a 3rd party….still no excuse
In that case...just leave on time. The fine is the cost of finding your own lodging and way back to ship or home. Unlikely people make that mistake twice.
We just got off Carnival Horizon and we were 20 minutes late. Luckily we were on a Carnival snorkling excursion and they had to wait on all 50 of us. We were late because the catamaran crew were one short when they did the count before leaving the private beach. Some idiot parents had their little girl sleeping under a towel and didn't bother to tell the crew when it was obvious they were counting heads.
We were in the Bahamas and the tenders were slow getting people to shore and we missed a whole day excursion and got no refund. The elevators and all stairways were packed and the people scanning were having issues with the equipment. However, they made sure everyone was told when to be back to keep to their schedule.
We were on Harmony (our first cruise) end of May/beginning of June. My granddaughter loved it and now thinks of Harmony as "her ship." She still wants to go on Icon, though.
The Oasis class ships are some of the best. Even having been on the first Oasis OTS as well as all of her younger sisters, these ships are virtually impossible to tour from bow to stern. In second place with regard to RCCL classes of ships are those from the Quantum iteration. Many more dreams to come.
Our tour guide in Nassau told us that on average 25 people miss their boat every day. That's total between the 4 to 5 ships that dock at one time. At CocoCay, there were 2 boats, we left first. 2 people from our ship missed the boat and had to leave on the second ship. No luggage and had to pay more for the extra days at sea.
Wow. I thought CocoCay would be the one place you could not miss a ship. I did not even consider that there might be more than one boat parked at a time. Silly me. 😄
Man they were lucky! The gangway was going in. 1 minute later they would not make it. Harmony is coming here to Galveston. Can't wait to see her. I have the first 2 sailings booked on her and 2 more booked in 2024 and 2025.
That would be Ideal but They won't have that kind of money. Port fees are very expensive. Some ports need tug boats to tow ships out of port and those tug boats are booked for a particular Time.
I honestly think that late passengers who are not on an excursion through the cruise line should be charged whatever fees the cruise line gets charged for not departing on time. It’s ridiculous that everyone else is inconvenienced because a few cannot read their watch or understand what “all aboard” time means. We were on a cruise to Bermuda and there was a couple that ended up being left behind because they were late. The took their time walking the pier and didn’t seem to be in a hurry at all, even though the ship had already pulled all the ropes in and was moving away from the pier. The woman just kept using her phone to video the whole thing. We were already more than 30 minutes late departing.
Yes I totally agree with you they should be charged. No excuse you’re told over n over boarding time but there are the entitled ones and they should be charged entitled fees !!
If they were on an excursion, sold by Royal Caribbean, then RC guarantees the excursion will get their guests back to the ship… And if it’s late they will hold the ship…
Why am I guessing that back in the 1960s and even 1970s pier runners were rare and almost no-one ever missed a reboarding time with a docked ship? Adults were actually adult back then. Knowing that a ship wouldn't wait. Entitlement, tardiness - is a thing that should be reserved for all the children that of course would never be put in this position.
Beyond me why the Captains wait. Only valid reason to wait is for a late cruise line booked excursion. There needs to be consequences for these self-entitled losers

😂😂😂
That’s savage
@ryanm4013 made everyone else laugh though!
I believe people should be fined for holding up a ship full of passengers. No excuses
If it’s the passengers’ fault, then I agree. But sometimes an excursion will get held up for this or that reason and you can’t get back to the ship on time.

Yep.
Much as there is an inconvenience and additional cost for ship excursions, they are worth the price when things happen.
and that's why it pays to take the ship's excursion!!

The excursion crew should expect idiots to do things like that, unfortunately.
I was on this ship during last week. Incredible times with the family.
Harmony one of the best ships i was on. I went on in 2019 and went on vision last week
I was on Harmony the week after you. Oasis ships always provide an incredible experience. The itinerary was just as fabulous.
We were on Harmony (our first cruise) end of May/beginning of June. My granddaughter loved it and now thinks of Harmony as "her ship." She still wants to go on Icon, though.
That ship is humongous! I mean, really humongous! WOW!

For me, biggest does not equal best, when it comes to cruise ships! Too many crowds, too many germs.
the ship should have left then behind
Right? You snooze you loose lol

Hey guys! Thanks for sharing. New sub here.
Leaving them would have been a lesson well-learned.
Sailing time is posted.
Back on board time is posted.
If you are not on board at sailiing time, you find your own way back home.
SHIP SAILS ON TIME!
St. Thomas, VI is a fun place. So I can see why they're late. Lucky for me, I flew there. 😂
I always arrive at least 2 hours before departure just to avoid this.
wow, they'd already started removing the ramp. They really were very lucky to make it on board.
They were very lucky. The ship blew the horn many times before they showed up
I was on the ship to last week and since my popop got sick we got invited to the bridge
I saw one of these where the crowd gathered on the ship started a chant of “MORONS! MORONS!”
Not very inclusive, were they?
But then again, I agree with the chanters.
@@bugwar5545 that actually has nothing to do with inclusivity.
How are we injecting wokeness into this??
I take an analogue watch set to ship time so there is no chance of fitbits, iPhones etc adjusting automatically if port time differs from ship time.
Man they were lucky! The gangway was going in. 1 minute later they would not make it.

Always the entitled few that punish everyone else and don’t even care!
I would leave them! Follow the rules losers!
The solution is simple: Charge the amount that the delay costs to their shipboard accounts.
That would be Ideal but They won't have that kind of money. Port fees are very expensive. Some ports need tug boats to tow ships out of port and those tug boats are booked for a particular Time.
Que legal esse vídeo 😅não sabia!!! conheci essa família eu também estava nesse Cruzeiro 😎

Yep. Yankees can be a challenge.
No point in their hurrying. They already knew the ship was gone.

I went on the maiden cruise of the Harmony in the Med when it was bright white. Now it's kinda yellowish.
You expect it to stay pristine white on the sea and though all different kinds of weather🤷♀️🤣
Megans bay on St. Thomas is beautiful, but jobs on the island are scarce
So?
Lucky bastard 😂
No, No, No. Don't use cell phone as watch (time zone diff). Use old fashioned mechanical watch (follow ship clock).
What cellphone do you have? You change it to match the ship as soon as you board.
I would close the door right in their faces… Irresponsible entitled people
No holodeck privileges for them...
If they were on an excursion, sold by Royal Caribbean, then RC guarantees the excursion will get their guests back to the ship… And if it’s late they will hold the ship…

Took my wife and mother, to saint thomas. There we are next to the man in the bright orange hat.
o povo zoa mesmo!

Their privilege card worked again! Smh
Imagine getting stuck in St Thomas in nothing but a thong bikini
Clowns
