  • Gainsborough Old Hall is this incredible medieval location in Lincolnshire, England, built around the 1460's by a guy named Sir Thomas Burgh. Picture a timber-framed masterpiece, the kind that makes you think you've stepped right into a medieval fairy tale. The Great Hall is the showstopper with its stunning timber roof, and there's even a chapel and a solar - basically, the whole package showcasing Burgh's wealth and status.
Fast forward to the 16th century, and the hall got a royal touch. Edward Burgh's grandson hitched up with Princess Catherine Parr, who later became the sixth wife of King Henry VIII. Henry and Catherine even swung by during one of their royal road trips. But things took a rough turn during the English Civil War in the 17th century when the hall played host to both Royalists and Parliamentarians.
Skip ahead to the 20th century, and heroes come in the form of restoration crews. They patched up the hall, saving it from falling into obscurity. Now, managed by English Heritage, Gainsborough Old Hall welcomes anyone who's up for a time-travel experience. So, if you fancy a walk through history, with a bit of medieval charm and some royal drama, this place is a must-visit.

That hall is so amazing. Sir Thomas did an amazing job building Gainsborough hall. The lion about the door a good symbol. Love the medieval feel of the timber. Multiple levels of window is impressive. Lots of lodging . Interesting how occupancy changed over time. Enjoyed seeing the historic kitchen. Huge and the warmth would have been nice. Lord chamber luxurious. Thanks for the tour of Gainsborough hall in Lincolnshire. Cheers and happy adventures to you guys🤠👍

    Hi Alessa,
OMGoodness, this Gainsborough Old Hall is Gem..I believe the maintenance is done mindfully, BC charming character still remains.
Wooden trims display warmth in this house. I started to vision myself living in it...hahha Timber-framed, wow...my jaw dropped. Thank you for mentioning about kitchen. The efficiency and functionability are well planned even back in the day.
This is one of master piece, rich heritage in the UK you all are proud of .
I always enjoy your history lines. What's the story! It enhances the entire film for sure.
Well done, Alessa. Miss Brett's aerial operation hahah see you, both next time. Look forward to your projects in 2024. yahooooo
