I hope they make Mario fly into bed like he's bellyflopping into a pool still. That was one of my favorite parts. I'd play it over and over laughing as a kid, and then showed my son that part and laughed with him later on. 😅 We're both stoked for this remake
yeah, i enjoyed playing the original back in the day, so when i learned it was getting an HD Remake for the Switch, i started to question if i should consider trying to save up for a Switch. and after watching peachy's streams on her twitch channel, i think i'll do what i can...though i may end up buying a 2nd hand one off Facebook if it comes down to it.

Absolutely. The golden age of video games seems to be behind us in terms of nostalgia and new entries and just excitement in new ideas developers are introducing. It's not really that anymore. It's usually just bigger, bigger, bigger. Cynicism is this era. Perhaps rightfully so.
Hey. I must confess that I've never seen your channel before but I'm so happy for you as well. Obviously I found my way here because of Super Mario RPG. Without a doubt this is my favourite game of all time. I've already watched at least 15 different reactions to this trailer and it has been amazing. Although some of the reactions weren't too enthusiastic and some people didn't seem to know the game too well. Your reaction however was a complete and total catharsis for me. In fact you're the only one who is more happy about the game than I am and it makes me feel happy thank you. I hope you enjoy playing the game even more than you enjoyed this trailer!

It helped me through the death of my mother when I was a kid and it remains my all time favorite to this day. I honestly just can't believe this is real. It feels like a dream. 39 here too... My first RPG ever at 12. I was so upset by the face that it wasn't part of the Switch Online games. Probably because they were planning for this since day one. I'm glad it could be a positive part of one of the worst times in your childhood.
This was my first JRPG as a kid. When I got it, I didn't know what the heck kind of game a JRPG was so I didn't know what to do with it, I just knew that it looked awesome. Unfortunately at the time I just couldn't grasp it so I put it away. Then like two years later, I dusted it off and was determined to figure out how to play it. After a bit, it finally clicked and I understood, and it made JRPGs one of my favorite genres ever! Soon after I played the Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, and may more! I still play JRPGs til' this day! My reaction was the same as yours! It's nice to see that there are so many of us kindred spirits out there. And to whomever greenlit a remake, thank you for making my dream come true!
All of this exactly 💖 I had no idea what an RPG was or what that even stood for. I just fell in love with the style and story and combat and never wanted it to end. I was actually mad at the end of my very first playthrough as a kid when I couldn't go back to Mushroom Kingdom and tell the Chancellor we did it, we saved the world 🥺 To this day RPGs are one of my favorite genres. ^^

As a content creator like you, somebody who covers games for a living, I got into it because I had a passion for games and the emotions and memories they can help us all create. Life's been up and down for me though, and I think some of my passion dampened over the years, especially when I see people get into fights and arguments over games or treat the hobby selfishly. But a genuine, heartfelt reaction video like this? It reminds me of that pure unbridled gaming passion that made me get into all of this stuff in the first place. Your genuine emotions here remind me of the point of games, beyond just 'needing to do them for my job'. I'm gonna try to rekindle my passion too. I want to be like you again. SMRPG really meant a lot to me too. I'm looking forward to its remake. Didn't know or heard about you until watching a compilation of reactions and what caught my eye first was the Dodo plushie, then went to see your reaction on twitch, then looked for your youtube channel and saw your first videos streaming the game, gotta say, it's really touching to see someone who genuinely loves this game for the same nostalgic reasons and i think for almost the same time as myself, i cried manly tears when this got announced too, you may not read this, but i do share your joy, really looking forward to watch you play it at launch.
Now THIS, is what pure happiness feels like. Her not controlling her emotions just made me wanna jump through the screen and give her a big hug, and seeing the entire game being remade (wish I knew it sooner) makes this the best thing I’ve ever seen on UA-cam today. 1:18 Plus, the scream right here made this even more better.

Man, I am right there with you. This is, like, THE game of my childhood. I've lost track of how many times I've completed it. How often I've listened to the soundtrack. How I'd try to expose everyone who would listen to this wonderful game. I was certain all we'd ever see from this game again would be re-releases on VC/NSO services. Never in my wildest dreams did I think a remake would actually happen, even if I had wished it would. Well, it looks like Geno had granted the wishes of you, me, and every other Super Mario RPG fan out there. I've been on cloud nine ever since the reveal and cannot stop watching the trailer and love to see others out there who were as moved as I was. November can't come soon enough!

I cried many fierce man tears today over the sheer flood of emotions from this game. I still have my cartridge I got when I was ten years old. Not only did I love this game as a kid but it's easily one of my all time favorites. Super Mario RPG is a masterpiece and I SHAME anyone who says otherwise!
First of all. Your video is the first I am hearing about a remake to SMRPG. I played that game the year it came out. I had my doubts about it but it was being made in with SquareSoft and at the time they were banging out some seriously great RPGs so I decided to give it a chance and boy was I happy I did. Second. At 46 years old it LITERALLY melts my heart to see someone who I am going to say is over 20 years younger than me having so much love for this game. Your reaction was heartwarming to say the least

I've been on and off gaming for a long time, mostly off. My last console was the PS3. I occasionally play games like AoE2 or Skyrim on my laptop. But Super Mario RPG is a key part of my childhood. I was around 8 years old when my dad bought us a used SNES and it came with this game. I barely understood English back then. However, I can't forget the music, the plot, the fights... 27 years ago I got this for my 10th birthday, I played it so much, my favorite videogame of all time, my favorite piece of art. I still have that very copy with original save files in my closet. Now I get to witness this glorious piece of artwork get a low effort graphical update into what looks like a cheesey mobile game. Robbed of all its charm, I don't get how people can be excited for this. Its like if someone took the Mona Lisa and said "this is garbage, it need much brighter colors, a more animated character and 2020s cell phone graphics!"
When I was 14, I worked at my mom's firework tent in KS for a week, and took my earnings and bought this game a couple months after it came out. Making my own money to buy a game, on my own, was a big deal to me - and I played the crap out of this after I bought it. Huge part of my childhood, this looks beautiful, and it's the updated music score in the trailer that really makes me emotional for it. Stoked that they're doing this!

I didn't know what an RPG was, but I had played every Mario game that existed before RPG and my parents got it for me for christmas or my birthday or something. I just remember that I loved every moment of playing it, I loved the leveling system and equipping gear, and it led me into playing many many more RPG games over the years. I was also very mad at the ending of the game, being forced to revert to a save with only 6 stars and not having post game stuff was a bummer. I also still have the cartridge and the players guide!! Mario RPG will ALWAYS be one of my favorite games! I was 12 when it was released in 1996 and I've been playing it ever since. Very sad we never got a sequel, but I'm still hopeful, especially after this remake announcement.

Watching all of these reaction videos fills me with a joy. Seeing you break down crying definitely struck a chord with me though. Ya know, when I was a kid, this was like -- I was in first grade, just learning to read. This was the first game I had to read a lot in, and I always did my best to comprehend what was going on. I remember, when I read stuff like "Mallow joined the Party" I was like (There's a party going on? Where's the party?) I learned pick-me-up as an item... I got stuck in the Sunken Ship a long time because I couldn't comprehend how to guess the password. It holds a lot of precious memories for me; when I finally got passed the ship, and months later, when I was at my Grandma's house, I had brought this game with me, and finally beat Smithy there. Love this game. Love seeing so many people hold it dearly too.

I have never played Mario RPG. Honestly, I don't know much about the game. But seeing such a wholesome and emotional reaction to it was incredible. Made me tear up.
Well you HAVE to play it! You will not regret it!! Trust me!! Maaan, Mario and especially Bowser have never been funnier then in this game! EVER!! Its crazy 🤣 Also the diversity of the SMRPG world is also by far the best in any Mario game! And when you have finished it, you will see how some things in the story is genius well putted in. I had a very similar emotion. I wasn't crying buy in grade 2 i had surgery and spent a week recovering. Mario rpg was a game my dad rented for me from blockbusyer and i spent the week playing that. It is still my favorite game to date. I have played over 100 to es on my emulator. Several times on console and 100% the remake. I have also played a lot of rom hacks for the game. Sich as hard mode. Oops all [insert party member], armageddon and randomizer. The fact that you were in tears from joy was adorable though

I felt the exact same way, shed tears and got goosepimples, when I saw the trailer. Super Mario RPG is my favorite game for SNES, with Super Metroid and Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past being very close second and third place contenders.
Bear in mind, that Dodo doll is one she literally MADE HERSELF. That is her love for this title.

All of this exactly 💖 I had no idea what an RPG was or what that even stood for. I just fell in love with the style and story and combat and never wanted it to end. I was actually mad at the end of my very first playthrough as a kid when I couldn't go back to Mushroom Kingdom and tell the Chancellor we did it, we saved the world 🥺
To this day RPGs are one of my favorite genres. ^^
Also my first JRPG.
When I got Pokémon borrowed, I expected timed hits to be a thing.

As a content creator like you, somebody who covers games for a living, I got into it because I had a passion for games and the emotions and memories they can help us all create. Life's been up and down for me though, and I think some of my passion dampened over the years, especially when I see people get into fights and arguments over games or treat the hobby selfishly.
But a genuine, heartfelt reaction video like this? It reminds me of that pure unbridled gaming passion that made me get into all of this stuff in the first place. Your genuine emotions here remind me of the point of games, beyond just 'needing to do them for my job'. I'm gonna try to rekindle my passion too. I want to be like you again.
SMRPG really meant a lot to me too. I'm looking forward to its remake. I am not as heavily into it as you are, but I know this level of love all the same; I personally have it for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers. (If that game ever gets a remake, I am most certainly going into tears myself on the announcement!)

Didn't know or heard about you until watching a compilation of reactions and what caught my eye first was the Dodo plushie, then went to see your reaction on twitch, then looked for your youtube channel and saw your first videos streaming the game, gotta say, it's really touching to see someone who genuinely loves this game for the same nostalgic reasons and i think for almost the same time as myself, i cried manly tears when this got announced too, you may not read this, but i do share your joy, really looking forward to watch you play it at launch.
Now THIS, is what pure happiness feels like. Her not controlling her emotions just made me wanna jump through the screen and give her a big hug, and seeing the entire game being remade (wish I knew it sooner) makes this the best thing I’ve ever seen on UA-cam today.

Man, I am right there with you. This is, like, THE game of my childhood. I've lost track of how many times I've completed it. How often I've listened to the soundtrack. How I'd try to expose everyone who would listen to this wonderful game. I was certain all we'd ever see from this game again would be re-releases on VC/NSO services. Never in my wildest dreams did I think a remake would actually happen, even if I had wished it would. Well, it looks like Geno had granted the wishes of you, me, and every other Super Mario RPG fan out there. I've been on cloud nine ever since the reveal and cannot stop watching the trailer and love to see others out there who were as moved as I was. November can't come soon enough!
As someone who used to be on forums and sign petitions for SMRPG to get a remake on GBA or DS back in 2005-2009, I'm right there with you. SMRPG is finally back!

First of all. Your video is the first I am hearing about a remake to SMRPG. I played that game the year it came out. I had my doubts about it but it was being made in with SquareSoft and at the time they were banging out some seriously great RPGs so I decided to give it a chance and boy was I happy I did.
Second. At 46 years old it LITERALLY melts my heart to see someone who I am going to say is over 20 years younger than me having so much love for this game. Your reaction was heartwarming to say the least

This is what being a gamer is about, it's about having fun and feeling good, to see someone so happy with what is to come makes the journey exciting, some games aren't for everyone but if you see those that love those games then how could you ignore them?

I've been on and off gaming for a long time, mostly off. My last console was the PS3. I occasionally play games like AoE2 or Skyrim on my laptop. But Super Mario RPG is a key part of my childhood. I was around 8 years old when my dad bought us a used SNES and it came with this game. I barely understood English back then. However, I can't forget the music, the plot, the fights... I don't know if I'll ever buy a Switch, though it doesn't matter: I also cried when seeing this and your reaction. Pure nostalgia, unforgettable good times. Thanks for sharing.

I feel awful to not grow up with this game, this is a literal gem! 27 years ago I got this for my 10th birthday, I played it so much, my favorite videogame of all time, my favorite piece of art. I still have that very copy with original save files in my closet. Now I get to witness this glorious piece of artwork get a low effort graphical update into what looks like a cheesey mobile game. Robbed of all its charm, I don't get how people can be excited for this. Its like if someone took the Mona Lisa and said "this is garbage, it need much brighter colors, a more animated character and 2020s cell phone graphics!"
When I was 14, I worked at my mom's firework tent in KS for a week, and took my earnings and bought this game a couple months after it came out. Making my own money to buy a game, on my own, was a big deal to me - and I played the crap out of this after I bought it. Huge part of my childhood, this looks beautiful, and it's the updated music score in the trailer that really makes me emotional for it. Stoked that they're doing this!

I didn't know what an RPG was, but I had played every Mario game that existed before RPG and my parents got it for me for christmas or my birthday or something. I just remember that I loved every moment of playing it, I loved the leveling system and equipping gear, and it led me into playing many many more RPG games over the years.
I was also very mad at the ending of the game, being forced to revert to a save with only 6 stars and not having post game stuff was a bummer. I also still have the cartridge and the players guide!!

Mario RPG will ALWAYS be one of my favorite games! I was 12 when it was released in 1996 and I've been playing it ever since. Very sad we never got a sequel, but I'm still hopeful, especially after this remake announcement.

Ya know, when I was a kid, this was like -- I was in first grade, just learning to read. This was the first game I had to read a lot in, and I always did my best to comprehend what was going on. I remember, when I read stuff like "Mallow joined the Party" I was like (There's a party going on? Where's the party?) I learned pick-me-up as an item...
I got stuck in the Sunken Ship a long time because I couldn't comprehend how to guess the password. It holds a lot of precious memories for me; when I finally got passed the ship, and months later, when I was at my Grandma's house, I had brought this game with me, and finally beat Smithy there.
Love this game. Love seeing so many people hold it dearly too.

I had a very similar emotion. I wasn't crying buy in grade 2 i had surgery and spent a week recovering. Mario rpg was a game my dad rented for me from blockbusyer and i spent the week playing that. It is still my favorite game to date. I have played over 100 to es on my emulator. Several times on console and 100% the remake. I have also played a lot of rom hacks for the game. Sich as hard mode. Oops all [insert party member], armageddon and randomizer.

I know many personalities here on youtube understand they're entertainers, such as gamescage, and they put it on a bit when it comes to reactions... And that's ok. In no way am I doubting his reactions aren't sincere, because I certainly believe he's a sincere fan, but they're a little over the top. I also don't think I'm raining on anyone's parade by pointing that out, I think everyone knows, they just want to flip out and have fun.
And it is fun, watching him lose it and seeing the chat scroll a hundred miles per hour with all their outlandish comments.

I felt the exact same way, shed tears and got goosepimples, when I saw the trailer. Super Mario RPG is my favorite game for SNES, with Super Metroid and Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past being very close second and third place contenders.
