7 years after, you still get GOOD vibes. God bless you David!
Your tutorial still get valued for me in 2021.
For me, this is the best way to learn, learn the tools as something is being made, I have a short memory, what was I saying? Oh, yes, a short memory, this way I tend to remember more, Thank you.
Thanks for such an easy-to-follow explanation and demo. I like the freedom of not even needing a template.
David, thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! You have saved me from pulling out all my hair! Thanks!!!!!
That was the very best GIMP tutorial I have seen! Thank you so much for an easy detailed lesson!
You, sir, are my new hero!! This tutorial is absolutely fantastic. I currently have some eBooks that I just flung a cover on just so I could list them on Amazon. Now, I will be redoing them like this and give them that all important professional feel. Thank you so much for your time and effort in making this video.
Well what an eye opener for me as an author as well that I could make my own covers - I didn't think it was possible and just typed the question into google and here I have met you telling me how to do it. Thank you so much. I'm going to try it right it now with my latest book.
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial! You were right about the Pages layer and getting it looking right. I warped mine beyond the point of no return. But then I tried duplicating the back cover, moving it down into the Pages position, doing an 'alpha to selection,' and then filling it with white followed by the gradient. It was much easier for me. It all came out looking great! :-)
This is the most helpful tutorial I've come across. Thank you!
What a fantastic tutorial! Thank you. Very thorough, and easy to understand. I've been searching for this information for a good year...thank you!!!
Hi David,
Thanks for this awesome informative video, it is most helpful and shows some excelent uses for the perspective tool, many of which I never would have thought of without this video. I'm now going to check your other videos.
Thanks again,
Elaine

Beautifully explained on a very intricate software!
David, I loved your video.... thank you.
Wow! Incredibly well explained.
Nice work. I made a cover using your method, only digression was my front cover was a photo with quite a few colours, so when I duplicated it for the back cover it showed up a little weird (even though the end result was a thin curved line at the top) I might go back to it and fill the back cover image with black.
Thank you very much for that helpful tutorial, David! :-D I have now made my first book cover in Gimp, and through this I have learnt new tricks in Gimp. Thank you! :-) One comment: I'm not sure, which edition of Gimp I've got but I wasn't able to move transparent layers - weird! So I ended up using the rectangular marking tool instead and thus made the "lighting" on the book cover with that. All the best, Merise
this was extremely helpful!!! thank you very much!!

Great Tutorial! Thanks!
Great tutorial!!
I followed it step by step and got a beautiful result.
1 question :)
the pages layers is pointy and I can not seem to transform it to a shape that looks like book pages. If that background of the PNG is white, no problem. But if it is anything other, the pages do not look real.
Did you understand what I meen?
Excellent, thank you so much.
