This song has a David Bowie sound to it I was watching an interview of Elly the other day and she said David Bowie, Prince, and M.Jackson were some of her Inspirations... If you listen closely the music in this song sounds like David Bowie's " let's Dance"...once in awhile there comes along a quirky artist like LA Roux who doesn't sound like anyone else and who has true talent...and that's very rare and refreshing in the music business. She also stated that she doesn't want to be pushed into the spotlight too soon by the industry and get used up for profit sake...without time to truly develop..A True artist with real Talent, Kudos LA Roux I hope you go far!!!

The first time i listen to Laroux was when im working at a coffee i stop whatever im doing to listen the incredible sound, when im at home the firt thing i do was turn up my laptop and searching for Laroux and since then i always come to hear his incredible voice and the magic produced by every note from its synths
This makes me feel so happy and free. Like I just imagine a group of friends driving through the city at sunset, wind blowing their hair while laughing and stopping at random destinations, pushing each other around in shopping trolleys while eating snacks on the bonnet of a car and star gazing. Just cruising around, aimlessly finding destinations. Happy times

@@ladedade23Blunticus She got it back. Took years of therapy. By the sounds of it, was mostly psychological. Her meteoric rise to fame, crazy schedule and stage anxiety got to her. She ended up doing lots of therapy. But she's making and performing music again.

This is electronica rock in the same vein as blondie and the cars. Yet it keeps being compared to crapo recent dance music. Well if you like that, you won't like this. And if you like that, you really don't like music. You just use it to accompany your dancing. As long as you can move to it, it might as well be rhythmic farts, right?

Ohh come on now, we can't all be musical puritans. :P I, for one, enjoy both "crapo recent dance music" and La Roux's music, as well as many other genres of music. I like "crapo recent dance music" for when I'm doing something physical like dancing or working out. It generally has a lot of energy. I prefer La Roux's music when I'm doing something more relaxed and cognitive like drawing, writing, or studying. Now, some of her more energetic songs make it on to my mp3 player. However, some of her songs just don't have enough bpm for a good run.
