Thank you for the tour through Tamworth. My mother was born there back in 1927. I have always wanted to visit…I may get there yet. My maternal grandparents (also both born in Tamworth)came to Ontario, Canada when my mother was just six months old. I did get the benefit of hearing a few stories about the relatives that were left behind. There are several still there. Unfortunately, when my grandparents passed away so did the UK connections.
Having grown up in such a historical and well preserved area, it's no wonder you have an appreciation and curiosity. You find the World Heritage sites and local history where ever you find yourself. Especially with this video I forget I'm watching a 'youtuber'. Very lovely to watch. Just gorgeous.
I was born in 1956 atPolesworth but lived have in Amington for 40 yrs a 20 min walk to Tamworth Town center. Tamworth has changed a lot over the years but still has plenty to do, in the 60s the heart was ripped out of the Town destroying many historic buildings and streets that would have elivated the Towns value as a historic Market town these days and would be better known for that. Tamworth still does ok the castle being a big draw also the events like st Georges day jousting etc help too, neighbouring Lichfield is hard to beat for visitors as its better known with having a Cathedral i guess but i still think our Castle tops that :) great job on the video Mick.
What a great video to popup on my UA-cam. I've lived here 41 years and it's nice to see someone showing off what our town has to offer. A wonderfully put together video.
He still has an accent . I was brought up just over the border in Warwickshire and we used to go to Tamworth ,i liked it . Gladi came across the this .
Lived here for 53 years and we use to play with the kids in the park and now we walk the dog around the castle grounds which are lovely especially in the summer. Tamworth is historic and there is a fair amount to see and do.
Have a lovely trip home. we managed to get back in April for a week to see new grandson but missed our home near fethiye the Hussle and bustle of UK made us realise how good we have it in Turkey

Hi Mick Amca, I live in Germany, I am Turkish my husband is German. I've seen almost all of your videos. I'm already looking forward to your new videos. Greetings from Germany
Mick,Trudie. A really nice video! Perfectly framed, your aerial photography is superb... It is nice for the people of Tamworth and visitors to see, despite these depressing times, what a lovely town we live in. A really professional showcase, you both are truly great ambassadors.
What a nice little town .I see you brought the sun with you from Turkey ! Swapping the blue of Turkiye for the green of England. Back to the DIY- good luck with it all .
Hi, another superb video Mick, it looks absolutely beautiful there. Sadly in my 59 years I've only ever been 'up North' twice and not for long. I do wish I'd travelled the UK when I lived there.
I lived in Middleton hall for a few years with my family. My Dad put many long hours into making it into what it is today along side the volunteers. He made some of the barley twist balustrades on the stairs in the Great Hall. Good and Sad times. ❤💔
Guys really nice work. I have every video a few times. As I wind down my career, our plan is to move to Turkey from Houston, TX. Keep posting these videos... gives me inspiration and something to look forward to.
Dear Mick, I can’t thank you enough for your lovely videos. All of them are amazing, penetrated with love to what you show and tell in them. TBH, I recommend them to my children and students for learning English from the native speaker as your accent is admirable for me Great thanks for your job from the Ukrainian person ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great video and drone footage! I made a similar video of Tamworth about 20 years ago but nowhere near as professional as this!! One place what would have been worth a mention would be Statfold Barn, Tamworth’s best kept secret!
And The MoatHouse.I have lived her for some years, though a Southern gal.The two rivers r my consolation for missing the ocean. We had a dig here years ago & many older locals said how one man,a councillor had ruined the town. From a small extremely historical market town,to an overspill due to back handing. The councillor in question, even said in a newspaper article how he would've demolished every old building here, had he had his way.The guy is still hated to this day.He destroyed green belt land & allowed some real monstrosities to be built.Horrid Little boxes. He even took a stand with King John & Cromwell,in wishing to destroy the castle! Incredible.Thankfully there is still a lot of wonderful architecture still here. Its not home, but I am fond of the place & hope that never again will such a person ever have the power to harm this little piece of history.

I live like 10 miles away and I’ve never been to any of the sites. Of course I’ve been to Drayton manor though. My dad used to work in polesworth in a Bangladeshi takeaway.
For me Tamworth will always be associated with the Reliant Robin car.. and that’s not a negative comment. I’ve passed Tamworth so many times and not taken the time to look properly. Stanfordshire is indeed a beautiful county 😊
Lovely hometown, Mick. I found the police history interesting, as daughter of a policeman, and having been born in the official police house in a small seaside village near Cape Town. Now how about Trudie's hometown? 🌷🌷
Another great video, Mick. My only memories of Tamworth is passing through (on the A5) during childhood holidays to North Wales (from London). May I ask ... if not too personal ... do you see your retirement in the UK or Turkiye ... or both?
