dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all of the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend for the last few weeks =)
Wow, this is by far the most accurate and helpful version of this song that I've found. The chords seem to be exactly what Jobim plays and your patient way of showing the fingering is so great. Same goes for the rhythm - you really break it down clearly. Thank you! I'm just confused why the lesson has been replaced with another version that is not as good...
Thanks so much for sharing- correct chord voicing and rythym and tempo. Excellent version, the one I'll be learning for sure. Great way to show the chords as well.
@chreebomb you'll find this one here : mlr-guitar(dot)com/archives(dot)php - for the new version : mlr-guitar(dot)com/the_girl_from_ipanema(dot)php :-)
Part 1 - Excellent lesson sir. Liked and subscribed. Signed up for 1 year course. I was trained in finger style haven't played for about 20 years. Will get the Ovation classical guitar out of case and retune it.
Where can I see part 2 and 3 because I learned this version and not your newer version can you put part 2 and 3 back up of this version? Please? It's beautiful thank you.
Hey, thanks. Where are parts 2 and 3 of this version. (old version) Thanks for posting or sharing the links. Can't get around learning the new version and forgot what I learned from this version a few years back. Cheers
+Robert Bailey you will find the next parts here : www.malero-guitare.fr/courses/archived/ and for the new version : www.malero-guitare.fr/courses/studies/the-girl-from-ipanema/ :-)
How do you strum so well? I always mess up my bottom 3 fingers strumming, and my fingers hurt so much after playing the first chord. This song is just so chill and I want to learn it. :(
@suspect1992beat :Hi ! I've read what you've written, and I got some time free, so I can write the names of the chords, if you always need them....I propose that to you just like that, don't search anything if not to tell you the names of the chords. I'm a Guitar teacher, and I tll to "my" students to tell me the name of each chord they play, particularly when it is not perfect chords like in this song. If you want the names of all the chords that he plays, I'll write them to you. BYE !
here is the Jobim original track version in F, you can look at the Joao Gilberto version here : www.mlr-guitar.com/malero-guitare-espace-membres/courses/studies/the-girl-from-ipanema/ :-)
+Dmitri Valdez oh yes that's now what i'm doing for my new lessons : ua-cam.com/video/TA_q3xrO4i4/v-deo.html :-) and you can find the chords on my site too : www.mlr-guitar.com/malero-guitare-espace-membres/courses/studies/the-girl-from-ipanema/
Your being a bit unappreciative. He's actually allowing viewers to become better musicians by ringing out each note individually and training your ear rather than blurting out the chords. Unlike most lessons he is also showing right hand movement too. These lessons are great!
This is jazz. Jazz guitarists don't think of chords as singular triads with names. Jazz focuses on chords as moving blocks of sound that can be changed and shifted and moved all across the guitar neck and coupled with other single notes to create arrangements. Chord names aren't important in jazz, the sound of the chord is important and you need to be able to know what the sound of each chord is. You need to know what 13th and 7th and 6th chords are and all the regular stuff, but the sound the chord makes is more important than the individual chord names.
this is the good key if you are looking at the Tom Jobim's version. Here is my courses for the Joao Gilberto's version in C# : www.malero-guitare.fr/courses/studies/the-girl-from-ipanema/
the best tutorial video I've ever seen. No talking, straight to the business and simple to understand.

dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all of the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend for the last few weeks =)
@Xzavier Roman yea, have been using InstaFlixxer for months myself :)
best teaching Ive seen of actual finger placement. This gets overlooked by many teachers. And it is so important with complex jazz chords.
thanks you :-)

Thanks so much for sharing- correct chord voicing and rythym and tempo. Excellent version, the one I'll be learning for sure. Great way to show the chords as well.

F Maj7, G7#11, Gm7, F#7#11 (Gb7#11), FMaj7.
Correct?

Mahalo for that.
why he doesn't list the chords i don't know
FMaj7, G7b5, Gm7, F#7b5 (Gb7b5), FMaj7
I believe the #11 note is more commonly denoted as a b5, as did seawitch.

why the hell don't you list the name of the chords? there is more to guitar than just learning finger placement and it'd be really simple

I agree....these clowns complicate songs.

That's way low of a key
Sorry but that's naught the accurate key
this is the good key if you are looking at the Tom Jobim's version. Here is my courses for the Joao Gilberto's version in C# : www.malero-guitare.fr/courses/studies/the-girl-from-ipanema/
