  • The Adalov Point to Point wireless bridge allows for internet to span long distances without wires. Each unit has a POE that connects to grid power and uses the ethernet cable as the power source. Installation is very simple. Simply connect the short yellow ethernet cable to your internet router. Then connect this to the LAN port on the POE. Next connect your longer ethernet cable to the POE and then to the 1000mb port on the bridge. This completes the install of the master unit. Next the slave unit will have the ethernet cable plugged into the 1000mb port and then to the POE for main power. Make sure that the bridge both have matching letters to connect to each other.

I love this kind of stuff. As a little kid (before cell phones and FRS radios) some neighbor friends and I tried to set up a telegraph system thru the ally between our houses. I may have to check out this system to connect to my brother's house again. 😁
Before my brother bought a house in my neighborhood he was approx 5 miles as the crow flies across the river bottom. He had broadband. I had no broadband available. We set up 802.11b with a 24db grid antenna on each end and then I also had broadband. That worked for a few years, then he moved to my neighborhood and neither of us had broadband. A friend about 1.5 mile away let us set up the system from my brother's previous house and we put up a smaller antenna at my brother's new house. Then all three of us shared that broadband for a couple of years until finally my neighborhood was wired. We took the equipment down from the friend's house as he was moving, but my brother and I remained connected until an ice storm in winter 2009 took down my antenna.

That is brilliant! 5 miles is a long way to get the internet to travel. A lot of us had that struggle years ago. My brother and I had to get cell service into our parents basement.

I've installed several CPE and WISP systems in my prior work life. I like the simplicity of this one plus those included pole mounts! The pole mounts alone are easily $15 each. I also like the compact style of POE injectors like this unit has vs. other ones I have used. This is smaller and less clumsy on cable management. Nice!

The system seems to be a good fit for those looking to extend internet service to an out building. The power over ethernet is convenient!

Power Over Ethernet is a great way to supply network devices. I've used wi-fi range extenders on lots of occasions, but this looks promising for a much longer throw. You'll have to update us once your permanent install is done.

You need to plug in the "B" ethernet into the Other port on the POE adapter to get more than 100Mbps, I have these, You may not get 1000Mbps, but I get 350 Up and Down on mine from 650Ft away. The port you are plugging into on the Bridge is called a "Management port" Yes you can get internet from it, but its main purpose is to connect directly to the Bridge for configuration.

I like your video since I am going to install one of these soon and I can't find a manual. One question, why the POE on the 1000 GB channel instead of the 100 MB? Thanks.

If you plug it into the 10/100 then your maximum throughput speed would be 100mbps. By plugging it into the 10/100/1000 your maximum throughput it 1000 ... so 10x the speed by using that port

Recently purchased these myself but I've been having an issue in that, We have a connection but it's asking for a password. We're trying to use it completely on wifi as that was the initial intent to get internet down to the garage. I see it works no trouble when you connect via ethernet, But for us it keeps asking for a password, we've made sure the Channels are the same, it's set to Master and Slave systems we get 5 bars. But we just can't connect even using the pages in the back of the instruction manual.

How do you configure wireless AP. I have trouble following up instructions. DO you need to configure IP address? if not what is the default IP address to access the interface?

So does the garage unit hang outside or inside the garage? Does the router unit hang outside your home or inside? Do you connect the garage unit via Ethernet cable to the extender or will it connect wirelessly as it does to the router?

    • @ToolsTechAndGear
      @ToolsTechAndGear  Рік тому +1

Both units can be hung outside so that they are line of sight from eachother. Both units will have power through the ethernet "power over ethernet". Once you have internet in the garage you then use an ethernet to get the signal to a wireless router.

Is it absolutely necessary to have line-of-sight for these units to work? I know it would be preferable but is it useless without line-of-sight? I saw a video of a very similar type unit (unknown manufacturer) and the presenter claimed line-of-sight on that unit wasn't necessary. Can anyone provide some insight?

I am completely clueless when it comes to this kind of stuff. I have a different type of bridge extender, but everything seems the same. I'm wanting to get the Internet from my mum's house to a caravan about 50 metres away. My questions are.
1 - the first box. Once connected to the router, ( my mum's house. Will I have to drill through the wall and stick it on the outside of the house?
2 - Once the second box is synced with the first box, will I need another long ethernet cable to run from the second box to another router in the caravan?.
3 - if 2 is the case, and I have a 2nd router in the caravan. Can it be any old router?, and will I be able to use devices etc wirelessly by connecting to the 2nd router network. I'm so confused. 😂

The units appear to work straight out of the box. However the led 's on the side and the 7segment display are very bright at night. I assume there is a software option to turn them off, but I can't find it. Anyone out there who knows how. I imagine the GUI is common to loads of these devices.

I have had this installed officially for around 2 weeks. I can confirm that the lights are very bright at night. My solution is just a small strip of black electrical tape. cover the lights. That will help keep the bugs from gathering around the unit.
