I'm trying to use the remote antenna along with a very basic TP-Link wireless access point in a remote location with no power to run a wireless security camera. For my proof-of-concept, I just used a typical "battery generator" that has AC output, and ran both the AC adapters for the TP-link and the Ueevii power injector. HOWEVER, I'd like to see if I could go completely DC and skip the DC-AC inverters for much better battery life. The TP-Link will run on 12V DC, but I think the UeeVii requires 24V DC. If so, does the antenna have to be powered via the POE or could I get 24V DC to the antenna via the coax plug port on the antenna?
As long as you get 24V to it through some type of adapter it should be fine as with an adapter or modified cable you can split the data and power. We do this with a power splitter and feed (in our case 12V) through a power splitter and feed from a battery source. It will work as long as you get a good power feed feed to it. Look at something like this (amzn.to/3SLYtOE)
I installed a pair of UeeVii CPE-820 this morning. I am only going 125' from the house to a shipping container converted to a small shop. Since the shipping container is made of all steel it acts like a faraday cage for wireless devices inside when the doors are closed, no signal. The CPE-820 was easy to get working and worked well. I will be installing a wifi router tomorrow inside the container. My big concern is the cheap plastic housing and the little plastic door at the bottom of the unit that covers the ethernet ports. I doubt that this little door is fully weather tight or that it will last very long being outside. Great video, thanks.

Hey yall. Is there any way after I co figure this to my router, that I don't have to use an ethernet cord to run directly to my router bc I don't want to have to go through all that wiring by myself. And plus, cords annoy my landlord. So, can I set this up wirelessly completely just as long as there are power cords plugged into both?
Yes, it can be done. If I remember right, you log into the admin screen and it is either in the bridge or AP section. Sorry I can't be more specific as I do not have them anymore.

In theory yes but I wouldn’t recommend it. It would be best to bridge directly to to the main router as it be simpler and probably perform better but I would have to know more about your configuration.
I got mine working great. But all the time, my internet will go out on my router. And it will be days before it will come back (by itself). I’ll get up on the roof, and my M/S are still on the same channel, signals are all lit up everything seems to be working on the UeeVii end. Any advice on what’s going wrong?
Depends on your network. A bridge typically needs to connect to the same network if you are bridging a device. Also depends on the bridge. Great question.
So sorry if this question doesn’t make much sense, but I’m trying to set this up for a detached office space about 20 ft from my home. Do I need to connect an Ethernet cable from the router to my work laptop for it to work? Or do I need to change the IP on my work laptop as well? Just trying to figure out if this will work, as the settings on my work computer can’t be changed by me. Thanks!
This should work out of the box with just the channel and switch selections that are in the video. Just plug one device into your router, and the second device into a laptop, computer, or switch (for multiple devices) and you should be good to go. Hope that helps.

@@Gaby-qu3kc Think of this as a cable. Anything you use a cable for you can use a set of these. That said, what you are describing is a wireless-to-wireless connection and it will be very, very slow but it should work.
I’m in need of help with setting up this bridge system. My wifi is Starlink and it was my understanding that I can plug it in and I don’t have to configure anything. It seemed to work for a while but it got so the wifi would not connect to the dish. If I unplugged the bridge my wifi works. So what might be the problem?
These devices are more a bridge not a wifi router. You have to make sure the two devices are talking to each other and that they are pointed correctly. Once you do that, all these do is bridge a devices such as a computer or game box to your router or device, in your case starlink. I am not familiar on how starlink is configured but as I understand it only has one connection and no router so you will have to supply a router somewhere. Think of these bridges as a single ethernet cord. Not sure if this help but without a better understanding of your setup and starlink it is hard to tell you exactly.

Thanks, you helped me set my cpe 820 up. My unit 820 says it can do a gig. I have a gig internet at my house and speed testing is about 400 plus with direct cable from router to computer. When I install this 820 set in line I only get 130 mbps?? That is with them one foot apart and new short cables. Even on my wifi router on 5g I get over 200 mbps. Why is that? Any answers are appreciated.
Couple things, first having them close together may be hurting performance much like what happens with Wifi. I would try them at least 30 feet apart and make sure they pointed as best as you can. Also, did you try different channels?

Anybody know how to do this on a MacBook? Tried to change IP manually on the computer but wouldn’t pick up internet access from the router. Looks pretty straight forward for a windows computer. Great video, just need in MacBook format.
The process is almost the same as you can temporarily change to a manul IP address on a MAC by going to settings, Network, and click on your wifi or network select details, and then change from DHCP to manual to match the settings in the video, When you are done, change it back to DHCP. Hope that helps.

You dont want to set these near existing dual band wifi routers as they will interfere. Create some vertical separation by mounting the CPE450 up higher than the wifi router, usually a few feet will do. As for LOS yes it is best to maintain a clean line Of Sight path however these do have fresnal zones that seem to be fairly wide as in I tested with one unit 60 deg of the other @1000 feet and still have usable throughput. SO they are forgiving in some aspects like point to multipoint where you cant have all of them exact 0 deg.
I am confused by all the Q & A. We bought the units so my husband could use his Roku device on the TV in his shop which is about 500' from the house. From your video I understand how to mount and set up both units. My question is once I get that done do I need anything else for the Roku to pick up the signal, i.e. a router?
That depends on the type of Roku you have as some do not have ethernet ports. on the "slave" unit you have to go into the web UI and first navigate to setting > system and untick "Dip Switch Control" and apply. This disables the switch assignment and easy pairing stuff, what you should have flashing is a "o" meaning it is in custom config mode. If the "o" is steady on then it is linked to the master unit, this is good. Ok so next navigate to setting > wireless and then click on create a virtual interface" a popup appears and select "access point" and then apply. This will create a new interface that is an access point alongside the units already created "Station". configure the new interface with your desired ssid and security and make note of this info cause this will be what the Roku connects to. You should know how to connect the Roku from here.
@@elfnetdesigns702 So, to be clear... in the factory settings for the remote/slave unit, it does not do "hot spot / wifi" type service, and (in factory settings) if you want wifi at the slave/remote end you'd need to add a wifi router. BUT, if you go into the web UI and do the config you describe above, youi CAN make the remote/slave unit a "wifi hotspot" itself, without the need for an additional wifi router so that things like wireless devices (tablets, wifi cameras, etc) could connect to?
What advantages does the Ubiquity version of this device offer for the higher price? Bridging devices are one-trick ponies. As long as the pair creates a reliable wireless bridge at the speed you need, why would you need the more expensive versions?
You are right for most applications. The only real advantage of a higher end unit is speed. If you are going to attach a switch to the receiving end and run several devices you may want more speed otherwise this will work fine. Great question.

I have two different ones at work (amzn.to/3MmVSFJ) and a faster model and they work very well. We are going just under a mile line of sight with no issues running internet, phone, and server applications.

Not familiar with the CPE731C. I noticed they upgraded the speed on many of their models so it may be a speed bump but I could not find any information on it.
IDK why they did this but the devices SOC has 802.11n dual band capabilities meaning if the manufacture opted in for it these could have 4 separate radios (2 on 2.4GHz and 2 on 5-6GHz)
Watch out !! Mine work fine in my bedroom at twenty feet, but when I set them up outside at 180 feet they don't work. Unobstructed line of sight and reasonably oriented. Very disappointing for the money I spent. These UA-camrs pretending they work don't help.
Sorry you had a bad experience. I tested this multiple times outside over a city block and had no issues. You are right about directionality and line of site but that is how they are designed. Thanks for the feedback.

Do I need a router in my barn connected to the slave extender? Or will the slave extender transmit a wifi signal that I can connect my tvs to?
This ties in to your router and do not need another router. Hope that helps.

Without a better understanding of your configuration, it is hard to say. If you disconnect it temporarily, does it solve you disconnect issues?

Theoretically it can be done with a wireless bridge but performance will be a nightmare.

No, just one side. Think of it as a cable buy wireless.

cpe450 is capable of 6GHz but you have to go into the web UI, disable the DIP switch programming and set the region to "Manufacturer testing"

No, use an ethernet cable directly from the Roku to the Bridge on one side, and the bridge to your router on the other.

No, it is point to point. Once you set them up you can install them anywhere and whatever you plug into it will bridge to the other unit.
