      Your provider of German drill bits also refuses to publish technical manuals because then people would realize these are not that complicated to fix and would likely stop visiting dealers for service.

      Had my S1000RR since early 2015, and while I do not ride it at its top since I am not tracking the bike. The only major issue with it since then is the quick shifter cutting out and that is mostly my fault for changing the shifter to an an aftermarket piece and messing up a sensor in the process. On the BMW cars I can see these repair bills being an issue especially among the M series, but the S1000 line has been pretty good. Especially when you consider that the same year I was about to get a brand new R1 which had a recall for a gearbox failure which could cause full lockup at any random speed....

    I love my 2015 model, having only been on some mopeds a 2003 Ninja 250 and an 07 R1 this bike is better than anything else I have tried by a long shot. Its comfy, not top heavy, leans in nicely. Traction control and corner ABS have already saved my ass. It has no issue puttering around town. The noise from the intake is amazesauce. And you can tour on it because you have heated grips and cruise control along with an adaptive suspension. I don't know what more you need. It just does everything well.

    You've got some dates wrong, dude. The R1 came out in '98 when Rossi was still riding 250s. He didn't ride a Yamaha in MotoGP until 2004. The BMW S1000RR out-R1d the R1 for sure. Any superbike that comes with cruise control and heated grips and goes and stops the way it does deserves its place at the top. I love your vids, man. Not trying to be a dick.

    If you gave me a list of bikes to choose from ranging between ( honda, yamaha, suzuki, kawisaki and the BMW ) i would choose the bmw.. only if it was the s1000rr. Other wise i would choose honda. and thats saying alot for me because im a die hard honda fan when it comes to bikes. Im mainly into dirt bikes when it comes to motorized bikes but if i ever were to get a street bike it would be either a CBR or this.

    • @DiegoRuiz1991
      @DiegoRuiz1991 10 років тому +4

      Motorcycles do not really need 2 great headlights. In endurance racing, most motorbikes only use one headlight. I guess BMW followed that and gave 2 different kinds of headlights to create that asymmetric face

    • @tothethreshold.9965
      @tothethreshold.9965 9 років тому +5

      ***** Its actually all to do with airflow. The split design is just a a BMW thing to make them look different. They had to add the second headlight to get them road legal BUT they went with the small round light as it saves 300 grams haha.
      The body styling is different on the left and right sides as well, purely to vent heat evenly.
      This bike is the result of function over form motorcycle design.

      @RoloPoops 10 років тому +23

      Sports tires are great and all but not everyone can afford to spend $300+ every 5-6,000 miles. PR3's can last a solid 12k at least. And for what it's worth, those tires are actually really grippy. Not something you'd use on the track but more than adequate for street use. You'd have to be going recklessly fast in order to start slipping on them.

      tnnss111 Aprilia's RSV4 has won more Superbike and Superstock championships than the BMW. Also, in most reviews both in Europe and the USA it usually comes ahead of the BMW
      I like BMW (pre-E90 M3s, endurance racing, Dakar Rally bikes...) but the Aprilia is better. Also, the _gold standard_ of superbikes were both the Mv Agusta and the Ducati and you have to be an utter fanboy to say the R1 was the best one

    Haha, loved that Kingdom Hearts "Simple and Clean" remix in the end. Took me a moment to catch on. Fun noticing the parodies. :3 Still not much for bikes but always good to know these kinda things. Not one I really ever see here, mostly low end stuff and HARLEYS.

    The kill switch is for when you've crashed. You should NEVER turn a bike off with it unless there's the threat of it catching fire

      +engasal If that were true, they wouldn't put kill switches on bikes.... Unless you can explain in great detail how that works, myself and everyone else who understands mechanics on this website is laughing at you. Keep that in mind.

      +StandardFish450 I am currently studying motorcycle mechanics at college and I don't see how in any way the kill switch will wear any part other than the physical switch itself. From what I've learnt all the kill switch does it cut the spark, therefore cutting the engine out as there is no return force pushing the Pistons down from top dead center - the same thing happens when you turn the key off, and at least on all the bikes I've owned and seen the fuel pump doesn't prime when you hit the kills switch, so I can't think of any way this could damage the bike.
