For a guy who didn’t want to work on another Bioshock, this looks a lot like an even more off the wall Bioshock. I’m in.
To be fair, Ken didn't really say he didn't want to work on Bioshock, he hated the large scale triple AAA development. It brought up a lot of personal health issues and he had a lot of anxiety during Infinite's production. He wanted to scale all of that back.
This looks great though even if it looks like Bioshock. I'm so curious to hear about his narrative mechanics he's been talking years about.
I’m just glad he finally push something out the door
SPACE!!!
More than just "a lot"
He founded his own studio to study new possibilities within the video game. He finally reached the conclusion he was looking for; do another bioshock
"And you know what? They're right" Nice little throwback to the opening lines of Bioshock.
YUUUUUP
You're right
Gods…I really like this version of “Leave Her Johnny.” I hope they release the full song soon.
Thank you! It's borderline criminal they haven't!
@@mistereayesjw i agree
thank you for namedropping the song ive been looking for for 3 weeks
Yesssss I totally agree
Laughs in ODST Trailer.......
It took us 8 years to get the trailer song for ODSTs trailer and it was as apart of a soundtrack for King arthur the movie
The "leave her Johnny" song mixed with all the heavy clanking sounds so amazing to me
Been a year and still waiting
They need to release this cover of ''Leave Her Johnny'' to the public ASAP!!! It's so epic!!
Yes!!!
DUDE THATS WHAT IM SAYING
I don't know if Ken's the person who picks the trailer music, but his games always have the best trailer music.
Been thinking about this for the past day and it's driving me mad. It's not only an edited "cover" of the sea shanty, but some of the words are different as well. I really want to hear a full version of this version! It just sounds so cool!
immediately!!!
You know what I love about this trailers - the character design is stellar. They don't look like generic NPC,s but the art team added real life to the characters which look great
I want to know all their stories! Like, is it a prison ship, an insane asylum in spaaace! or what?
0:24 The shot introducing that bald lady is one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
All well and good...and I'm certain that Levine and Co have a compelling story to go with all that. But if the gameplay is same ol', same ol', we're going to be seeing a repeat of the Bioshock Infinite experience.
@@pickledparsleyparty i just know the bald lady character is gonna be cool
@@pickledparsleypartyhell yeah brother
I thought I was awaiting a Bioshock 4 reveal trailer but this Judas trailer was what I actually really needed.
So good to feel that mysterious Bioshock vibe again!
Yeah, I'd rather a new IP with the bioshock feel than one that just has the name.
No, I'm absolutely more interested in bioshock 4. I hope the team that did 2 is doing 4
@@ryanwill32 im with you a new IP but feeling like bioshock is awesome because they basically have freedom to make a whole new universe
bioshock infinite is not bioshock 3
Plus it looks like you have something similar to plasmids in this game
How rare it is these days for trailers to be this intriguing and inspiring I can't wait for this to come out
Not that rare but once you see gameplay and it ends up looking bad, people forgot the original amazing trailer
I mean the wasteland 3 trailer is not half bad
I'm going to wait a bit longer before getting excited.
I can remember watching original bioshock trailer. I knew i would like the game. Same feeling here
Ok, dear woman. You are entirely represented and seem fit to enter the characters shoes. Buy a pair of high heels shoes for accommodation. Just in case.
I think I really like the Levine animation style. Somehow feels more emotive than the motion capture we're used to seeing, these days.
It's the Exaggerated Expressions that the Bioshock Artstyle Displays very well
This is motion capture. The animations just got tweeked a bit too. Motion capture is always direct.
Same. I love when they have realistic movement only if the game is aiming for realism
What is Levine animation style?
@@AnnSnowfrost I guess I'd call it "realistic cartoony." Or maybe "embellished expressive" or something.
I can't contain my excitement for this. Looks so much like Burial At Sea Rapture, but 10x times more crazy
looks like same stuff copied 4th or 5th time, yay in space. pets robots, hihi.
@@zbigniewiksinski.......
@@sb3ve He's kinda right. Even some of the room designs we saw look reminiscent & not in a good way.
@@bbbbbbb51 Nope, very much in a good way
@@bbbbbbb51 let's wait for the final product tho.
Need that cover of Leave Her Johnny
Me too!
same!!!
bump
ditto
I need so much this version of Leave Her Johnny complete
This cover of Leave Her Johnny is such an epic bop. I need this cover now.
I literally just finished playing bioshock remastered for the first time and was BLOWN AWAY. The game is literally a masterpiece. And now I stumble upon this trailer minutes after finishing it. This level of excitement is indescribable
Would you kindly describe
Yeah actually same for me !!
I'd personally recommend the original slightly over the remaster. there are loads of smaller details in it that just make the world feel even more whole. not giant details that break the story but small details like slightly better AI or a better "wet" look on textures.
I highly recommend infinite now my friend don’t play 2 its not bad but its not made by levine so it doesn’t have the same feel as 1 and 3
@@spacegun8540 I personally disagree, infinite had a really good setting but in my opinion the rest of the game was really average. Bioshock 2 however and it's dlc while not written by Levine still continues the story of rapture perfectly and is my personal favorite in the series in every aspect (with the exception of storytelling and innovation, those aspects obviously go to bioshock 1) honestly it's really underrated. I'd also recommend the book "Bioshock: Rapture" which manages to capture the tone and storytelling of the original bioshock brilliantly, would definitely recommend.
This version of 'Leave of Her Johnny' and 'Coming in the Air Tonight' from Dead Space 3 trailer are two covers we'll probably never get.
So excited for this! Love Bioshock and this looks just as incredible
I have been waiting for anything involving the creators of Bioshock and I am officially pleased this looks like Bioshock and space give it to me now Bioshock is the greatest freaking game series of all time and I don't care who says that it isn't it is incredible
,
I must say I agree 100%
It’s definitely one of the greats. It’s almost like a right of passage to truly understanding what makes games special and timeless, really raised the bar for me. It’s sad a lot of people have never touched it
"Daddy chill."
@@Armageddon613 It had it's time, let's just hope the new bioshock and this game make it rise in popularity again
"They told me … Son, you’re special. You’re born to do great things. You know that? They were right."
ha ha good catch
Ken is an absolute mad man. Can't wait to see how this turns out.
I have been waiting for this game for 15 years. It is finally happening. Ken Levine is back.
The thing that made bioshock so amazing is the insane story paired with heartwrenching character arcs. I hope Judas can deliver the same
I doubt it. Bioshock 2 was the best game in the series. They might as well call infinite "Elizabeth, the game" this game will likely take the same route as infinite. Not dark, the environment far less engaging, and a story about a girl who's going to be the ultimate key to everything. In other words nothing that made Bioshock a good game. Also the ending for infinite was so atrocious I'd like to forget it all together but can't.
@@HoodrichShinobi that’s a huge assumption for a 1:30 long teaser. Might be good, may not be, but we have literally nothing save for this at the moment
@@brian.jrmontoya3227 you're right. And I hope I'm wrong. I hope it ends up being as amazing as Bioshock 2. I'm just very doubtful. The big daddys were one of the most iconic characters ever created.
@@HoodrichShinobi the story itself is actually pretty dark in infinite.
@@juanbaez790 yes. I like the cult religion ruler and the story was dark. But the environment felt too colorful and happy. Vs grim and literally dark
It's been two weeks and I still can't stop watching this trailer and listening to this song! Please, I need the full version of this cover yesterday! I'm so intrigued by this game!
ok but can we just appreciate how good that song was. i cant wait to hear it in game.
Just delivering a solid story and mechanics is all I've ever asked of any game.
From the creator that brought you System Shock under water comes Bioshock in space.
Can't wait for this, it looks like a mixture between Bioshock and Prey. Ken Levine is back!
Given Bioshock was a riff on System Shock and Prey was an ode to those games, it's not exactly a surprise. They're all in the same wheelhouse.
Oh man I'm psyched for this one.
As a kid BioShock was my favourite game series by a mile, enough that I went back and played system shock 2 specifically because it was by the same guy, loved it too.
So I can't wait.
I heard somewhere they were releasing an update or remake or System Shock 2 as well, am I crazy?
Yeah, kind of!
They're making a total remake of system shock 1, which should come out next year I think? There's some trailers for it, and it looks pretty neat.
There's mention of a system shock 2 "enhanced edition" coming along with it, but I'm not sure if it's a remake along the same lines, or more of a remaster with some updated graphics. Either way, something to keep an eye on!
Levens literally reused the exact story from system shock 2 when he made bioshock. When he diverged from that with infinite we got.. A mess. I expect this to also be a mess. Levene has proven a one trick pony so far.
@@Infern0121 Huh? How is infinite a mess? Are you high or something? Maybe you just didn't understanded the story or didn't paid attetion enough and just rushed the game.
@@Infern0121 I don't know, I enjoyed infinite; but to each their own. Burial at sea in particular was an especially fun way to tie the series together.
I fully expect the gameplay for this to be bioshock again-but that's not inherently bad, it's a formula that works. At the end of the day, the enjoyment of this will come down to the worldbuilding (which has historically been excellent), and the plot, which we know little to nothing about.
Will this be bad? Maybe. We shall see when the game releases, but my hopes are high.
I mean I'm not pre-ordering or anything, that's proven many times to be a generally terrible idea, but this is definitely way up on my list of games to watch.
Love this version of "Leave Her Johnny". The drums and the dissonant power chords from 0:47-0:54 in addition to the key change at 1:00 really evoke a sense of tension and feeling "on edge"
cannot stop listening that "loop". So so Loud
Bioshock in space. I feel like Bioshock Infinite backed Levine into a corner with the franchise and he had no idea where to go from there so now he needs to create a new lore. This seems to be the spiritual successor/sequel to Bioshock, and i'm fine with it, looks great.
I wasn't a fan at all of Infinite and I'm kind of shocked to see how many others shared this feeling.
This is really bringing me back to what I loved about the first two games, and I'm really hoping Ken and the crew make something they, and we, love with this one.
@@zackw7609almost nobody with a genuine enthusiasm for the first BioShock game liked infinite
Levine finally has a chance to have made every game in my top 3
@@leserrors7669 probably Bioshock 1 and Infinite.
@@peppermillers8361 2 is better

0:27 That song is definitely sea shanty Leave Her Johnny from AC4 Black Flag. What a masterpiece
I haven't seen a trailer this good in a very long time. I've already watched it countless times.
So frickin hyped for this! Been waiting so long for something Bioshockish. And now Ken and his team delivers!
The dark and grim rooms really shouted Bioshock, really love to see more gameplay in the future and I don't mind waiting for this game to come out, want it to be as good as anything. So if they need alot of time, then so be it, I am more than happy to wait!!
I'm sold!!! Ken you keep doing what your doing as this is a pre order the moment it's available!!!
Oh man, can't wait! Really excited to see Levine is finally making a game that will feature his narrative lego idea. I hope it works well, sounded really great when he was discussing it
There's always a lighthouse, there's always a man, and there's always more demand for Bioshock, guess this will do
A man?
epic comment
The song goes SO HARD
LITERALLY
You had me at Ken Levine, I'll be eagerly looking forward to this game.
Finaly! It took Ken Levine nearly 10 years to come out with a new game. But it looks great!
Maybe there will be a lighthouse ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Constants and variables, perhaps?
looks to me he made the same game again
@@trosanlosan8803 Just like how Elden Ring looks like every other Fromsoftware game...
Bot do you not remember how much he swindled everyone with Bioshock Infinite with the trailers and demos and NONE of that was in the final game? Instead we got a CoDified Bioshock game with Halos shield regen.
@@RAAM855 Yeah, there's a reason why they're called demos. You must be new to gaming

Bioshock infinite : in The Sky

All I needed to know to get this is that it's Ken Levine's new game.. can't wait
At least there's one game from this event I'm extremely excited for.
I will definitely being keeping an eye out for the release of this game 👀 obsessed with the Bioshock series so also hoping a new one is in the works🤞💞
from under the sea through the sky into outer space
After the last few years that gaming, film, and television have had… my soul needed this ❤️.
Bioshock in space is that what this is, All for it as long as the story and the game play is all there.
Prey is bioshock in space
System Shock
always knew bioshock 4 would be in space
Maybe It will connect to Bioshock in some way.
When the game comes out and it starts with a lighthouse you already know who knew from the start.

"They told me, 'son you're special you were born to do great things' you know what? They were right."

Bioshock is my absolute favourite game ever! When I first saw the trailer when it said ‘from the creators of Bioshock’ I absolutely freaked out with excitement!!! I am so excited to see how this game turns out😀
Just... what a great trailer. I come here again and again.
OH yes I’m so glad this is back man. The world needs a BIOSHOCK rn. This is the game that will make me buy a ps5

so first we had Bioshock, then we had high in the sky Bioshock
now we have space Bioshock
We also have Russian bio shock, atomic heart
System Shock
Bioshock as always been my all time favorite series I’ve been wanting a game similar to it forever to happen and I think my wishes are coming true
I'm very curious what the dog paw tattoo she has means. In Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite, both protagonists had some sort of marking on them that symbolized a part of them. I have no idea what a dog paw might mean.
Edit: I think since dogs can symbolize companianship, guidance, protection, and trust, it seems it has a lot to do with your companions and who you choose to side with. Maybe instead of using them for your benefiet to get off the ship, maybe they're using YOU because you are the symbolic representation of a dog, a companion, there only to guide and protect others.
With nods to system shock and a clearly bonkers approach to story like bioshock, I'm 100 % excited for this... Keep it comin Levine
"You know what? They we're right." AH it's so good to hear those lines coming back
Here's my wild speculation: I'm guessing it's a rogue lite with a time loop mechanic. You have to make many runs through a spaceship / spacestation and try to help the survivors. Plasmids are found on every round, but you can upgrade them and find stronger versions in successive runs (I even want to believe that's exactly what we're seeing the lady in gold is revealing). There's story progression between the runs as well and some of the cutscenes end in a new cycle with permanently opened new paths (like the one where we're seeing the protagonist die from a meteor). Maaaybe it's also going into the direction of Outer Wilds, where you could "solve" the game from the getgo, if only you new what to do.
Anyways, can't wait :D
Hyped for that one, great trailer.
Looks so good. Can’t wait! Defs classic Bioshock vibes in all the best ways.
A new Bioshock was one of my predictions for the awards and I was close enough
Thank God they made Bioshock 4!!! They can't fool us
Not gonna lie, the music for this trailer sounds kickass.
Im so freaking excited for this. BioShock 1 is my favorite game
So as many have mentioned the song heard here, "Leave her Johnny" is an old sea shanty that most agree tells the story of sailors describing the horrible conditions they suffered during a voyage to urge a boy named Johnny to abandon the ship and return to life on land. There are actually many versions of this song with loads of alternate verses that all fit the same general theme of sailors being fed up with ship life and wanting to head back to land.
The verse that is sung in this trailer likewise contains wholly original lyrics which are most probably hints to the plot of the game. I've tried to transcribe them as best as I can hear:
"I was sailing to that distant shore.
Leave her, Johnny, leave her.
As the Mayflower did to the ocean floor,
And it's time for us to leave her.
Leave her, Johnny, leave her!
Oh, leave her, Johnny, leave her!
For the Mayflower's done and you should run,
And it's time for us to leave her."
Johnny was actually Anne. At least this is what this story tells.
Been a huge fan of Bioshock and the Dlcs for years now. This is the most exciting news for me :D
With Ken Levine. It will be worth it. Hopefully the dlcs getting backing long before the game comes out because people will want more
i'm gonna need the whole trailer song man
Ouuu so excited for this one! I’ve played and finished all 3 bioshock games at least 40 times!! 😁👍

Wow!!!!
Thank You Mister Levine.
This looks super dope. Can't wait.
In my head Canon this is just another alternative universe of the many "doorways" shown In Bioshock Infinite. Since this is also being published by 2k and is being headed by the director of bioshock and Infinite, I'm almost certain there will be many references to bioshock in this game, I can't wait!
Ken Levine!!! Dioses ya era hora!!
i think the thing that held bioshock back from being amazing in this genre is that it was bioshock, so im glad to see where an unbound story goes

I have a theory: the trailer uses a parallel line to the beginning of the first Bioshock, specifically the last line spoken by the protagonist at the end of the trailer. In addition to this, the song used in the trailer is the sea shanty, Leave Her Johnny. A sea shanty, a parallel to the first game. What did Elizabeth tell us? Constants and Variables.
I WANT A FULL OST OF THIS STAT! ASAP SOS P L E A S E! I NEED IT!
