    How could you give
This a thumbs down. She's delightful.

Exceptionally talented athlete from 100 meters to 800 meters, and it would have been an unbelievable double at that olympics if she won the 400 as well. But silver at 400 and gold at 800 at the same games is still a great achievement.

What a rare beauty. And of course, a world class athlete. Congrats again Ms. Packer. 🥇

Anne still raced in the early 80's. A 10 mile run in North Staffordshire ! Very nice lady and a great champion when there was no money in athletics.

The 64’ Olympics was filmed by a Japanese director, the committee hated it, being to “arts” but her race was played complete, it is a pleasure to see her, thank you

They wanted Riefenstahl and Ichikawa gave them a human scale art document sometimes focusing on losers and groundskeepers. Ha! Fires on the Plain

I remember that race like it was yesterday I was so happy at the time when she won it might be some 50 years later but if I ever saw her I would pat her on the back and say well done.

Very impressive finish..so fast in last 150 m that under a more even pace she could have been first under 2 minutes. She lost 400m to Betty Cuthbert from Australia, who stepped up from 100 and 200 metres when worlds best in 1956 Olympics.

I was lucky enough to be at school with Anne, back in our Wallingford days.
Blast that Brightwell fella, she could have had me instead any day......
Oh well, there's always Francoise Hardy ......

The women running in the 2012 Olympic 800m. final (bar the winner) should have studied Ann before convincing themselves that the race was only 400m. Still slim and very pretty and clearly going strong.

Still my favourite olympic moment. Followed by Bob Beamons long jump. She is way prettier too.

Britain was stricter than most when it came to the amateur rules. A lot of great athletes retired too soon.

Children. Several top female athletes retired in their early 20s to start a family. It was the British culture at the time.

pourquoi appelle-t-elle Marievonne Dupureur 'The french girl"? Je n'aime pas ça. Colette Besson n'a jamais appellé Lilian Board l'anglaise.
