Hi everyone, I was driving my 2009 W211 E350 4Matic 3 days ago on the highway doing 75Mph and using my brake to slow down for traffic coming ahead (BOOM) my Electronic Stability Program (ESP) is not an operative message, and the warning light came on at the same time, my Cruise Control (CC) not working warning message came on too within minute or two! To make the story short, I ordered Mercedes's OEM brake switch replacement part (a common problem for the E series as I know of, maybe other models too, if they are using the same switch) for $19.95, and easy to replace DIY in 15 minutes for me! This part solved my ESP and CC problems! P.S. Make sure you are pushing on the brake paddle and HOLDING then install the new switch, NOW slowly release the paddle. This will reset the switch for your Brake Paddle Traveling Distens, ESP & CC! Happy Driving!
dude its a simple fix , and that is not a check engine code to pull because its just saying your break pad is going to end, there is sensors in the break pad . you have to change it. so you have to change the break pads too. ask me if you have any more doubts .
If anyone else finds that the plunger (the white part) of the NEW switch is too short, simply pull it all the way out of the switch body before you install it. These switches are adjustable for use in many different models.
@@GK7GARAGE know a lot of times you have to unplug the battery to give the computer a chance to reset code should go after if it comes back then it was in your issue
PLEASE CAN YOU TELL ME WHEN YOU PRESS THE BRAKE DO YOU HEAR THE NOISE OF THE SWITCH GOING ALL INSIDE BECAUSE WHEN I RELESE THE BRAKE I HEAR THE SWITCH MAKING THE NOISE THAT GO INSIDE
So how did you finally get it to stop? Is it ok to drive even if it is saying this? we just changed the pads front and back and the sensor. We have the same error code.
@@GK7GARAGE There is a "reset" tool that is sold on eBay. Tavarish has a vid up about it. under $30. I have a red light on my SL55. Cleaned the wheel speed sensors and rings but still shows up white then red.
Great video I replace mine too and still have the error code. So what did you do next did you fix the problem if so can you explain thank you very much
It can be the sbc counter which can be reset by a $25 tool but you need to scan it and get the code first and make sure that's what's it is before buying the tool
Terrance Brown sorry it's sbc counter, it's something Mercedes came up with that it counts how many brake pedal presses it's a $30 tool that just reset the counter
I got Esp abs bas on, well sometimes my car goes into limp mode and i lose cruise control.. But most of the time i just restart the car and its fine 🤔 everything works fine. What could it be? A bad fuse? Bad connection somewhere? Sometimes i don't have any issues for days.
@@GK7GARAGE update on this. The esp abs bas brake thing has't come up in like a week now. It seems it only comes on when its kinda cold outside. So i think it might be a bad contact somewhere due the cold.
I replaced the front wheel bearings and ESP , cruise control , ABS light came on. and the steering wheel stiffened a bit. Hope to find the solution soon
Buy a Hyundai! Mercedes are junk. I have a E500. Replaced the speed sensors and the : BAS ABS ESP AND BRAKE malfunctions are still on the cluster. 4 more mechanics with 4 more opinions. Stop buying Mercedes

thanks for the help, my brake pads have lots of life left, i checked them, there is another problem that I am working on figuring it out. thanks
hello Aneesh! we just replaced the pads and sensors on the front and back and it STILL says brake go to the workshop.

Mine says Brake wear. go to workshop .
:(
MIGHT HAVE TO CHANGE PADS AND SENSORS . WILL TRY BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ALSO
Could be speed sensors, the whole stability control depends on it.
I just switched out my brake light switch code DIDNT go away .. so I need to change my brake pads ???

Pulling it will make it shorter?
If there is no power to the brake switch light how do you get power ? I replaced the brake shifter on e320 Benz car still want shift .
did you clear the code after replacing?
No it should go on its own

In my case it was the sbc counter, you need to get it checked asap hopefully it's nothing serious
