Only a few minutes into the video, and gotta say Leo - really good setup. From the map, to the music, to the gloves, to the whiskey. Well done, cheers!
The Astra looks like a watch that Don Draper from Mad Men would have worn to the office in 1965. Stunner. I'll bet it also looks fantastic on a leather strap. I am a big fan of the design language used by Lorier. Cheers!
Actually, since he wears a suit in the office, Don Draper would have worn a dress watch with a leather strap. Either a Cartier Tank or a vintage Omega Seamaster (with leather strap). The Astra appears to be a homage to the Rolex Oyster Perpetual. At the price level of the Astra, I'd get a Seiko SARB035. The lume on the Astra is amazing though. Technically, these type of watches (round case with stainless steel bracelet) are classified as sports watches not dress watches. But Don Draper would have worn that on the weekends with his button down shirt and khakis. If he wears a sports shirt (short sleeves), then he would wear a dive watch like a Rolex Sub or the Lorier Neptune. @teler ;)
Class watch. I bought a 224270 Explorer in part because of your Explorer video, and now I am considering the Lorier because of yours. Thank you and damn you...
Another great review, Leo…thank you. I was really pleasantly surprised to see the outer ring of the dial light up…really cool. It I’ll be interesting to see if Lorier release other dial colors like a champagne or salmon color in future versions of the Astra.
damn, that Astra has a bit of king seiko vibe, Lorier is suddenly on my radar, nice micro with really classy designs, not just spamming colourways like all the mainstream micros
@@LeoVinteler they both look amazing but I already have a seiko sarb035 that fits the Astra purpose. I am missing a diver or gmt so I want to get a Neptune or Hyperion Guys at lorier are so nice and they said the bezel measurements for these is around 38mm, do you think the neptune wears smaller for a 39mm watch (compared perhaps to the Tudor)? I have small wrists, so a smaller watch sounds great.
Thanks, Leo! I love your map of Transylvania. That's where my people are from! Hey, I just ordered a Neptune. No date. Then I saw your date version...oh no! I like the Neptune in red with the red date. What do you think of date vs. no date on the Neptune? Cheers.
Well you just might have to buy both 😄😄😄🙋🏻♂️🥃 I ended up finding a Neptune OG Version 1 and enjoying that one like crazy. It’s the one for my taste🙋🏻♂️
Gorgeous watch, that Astra! Thanks for the video! Quick question: does the Astra wear slightly larger than your Explorer even though both are 36mm diameter?
Amazing review! How big is your wrist? I really like it, however I have doubts regarding size. I usually wear 38-41mm watches with L2L from 46mm to 50mm. I have 18.5cm wrist. Thanks!
Debating between getting the new Serica 5303, selling my Neptune and buying the Astra. How does the 5303 wear compared to the Neptune? Smaller or bigger, and if you would have to choose, which would you keep? Sorry for the weird question just don’t know anyone with both the Lorier and the Serica lol Thank you and love your videos!
@@a_commisso77 both nice. Serica is sapphire and wears a bit bigger but has very nice lugs, really cool dial(very different) amazing bracelet but allot more expensive.
Big problem with the Astra lug-width... When you're making "design choices" of always using hesilite crystal.... Using bezels that are also not scratch resistant... Using all retro design cues.... To get the authentic modern retro reissue, with semi original designs.... There is nothing classical looking about a 20 mm lug width on a 36 mm watch!!! Completely loses all resemblance of the time period!
It's so difficult to not be a pure fanboy of this brand. They are superb.
That Astra is another beautiful watch from Lorier! Lorenzo & Lauren have been knocking it out of the park with their offerings.
Absolutely 🙋🏻♂️🍻

@@LeoVinteler Completely off topic, would you happen to know where I could get oem Tudor bracelet screws? I've looked around, no luck.

@@LeoVinteler 🤣. The Astra and the Falcon with a heavy preference towards the Astra.
@@degenerateWA both nice but if you have an Explorer, the Falcon might not do much for you. The Astra is just pure class 👍🏻
Thanks for the video. Also kinda calming. Nice
Cheers 🍻
I knew you'd cave and buy the new Neptune! I've mad mine for a couple of months now, and it hasn't left my wrist. I absolutely love it.
I had the lll but sold it. I have to say the lV is allot better for my changing horological taste. 🙋🏻♂️😂
Gorgeous and I just ordered one! I love the 36mm
Tired of big chunky watches! Just got the Zephyr in red and it is really slick and elegant!

Great review. I have my eye on this watch now. Curious to know if you remember the artist playing in the background? I’m a huge jazz fan. Cheers!
Don't know if I want this Astra or that LE Astra with the blue dial. Gotta stop myself from picking up both ✨
Is the colour white or more cream? I feel the watch must look great on leather too
Pure white🙋🏻♂️

It wear’s perfect. Very close to the Explorer
Cant decide between the Falcon 3 and Astra
If you want more of a tool look Explorer like, The Falcon is it.
If something more sophisticated, than The Astra is it.
You really can’t lose with either! The Falcon may be more legible in low light, just because of the contrast between hands & dial.
Get both if you can.
Great video! How’s the legibility on the Astra? Wondering if the the silver hands and indices get lost on the white background
Visibility is great. No problem
what is the name of strap of neptune 4? Thank you!
It’s a real Tropic rubber strap. Made in Italy by Tropic straps.
Nice map you got there from my motherland 😊
