''Be bold, be brave, be beautiful! '' Thank you so much for your encouraging words and inspirational tutorial! I'm just a beginner, I'll try my best to learn from YOU🥰
Jenna Rainey recommended you and she was spot on. You are so enjoyable. Love your talent and humor.
I just had one of your tutorials randomly pop up a couple of weeks ago here on you tube. I started to try watercolor a couple of years ago and gave up. Luckily, I never got rid of my supplies! I have ordered and received a no.3 rigger and a 12 round and can’t wait to pick it up again! Paul, you have a way, no wait..a “gift”, of presenting and teaching watercolor so that it is not so intimidating! I can’t thank you enough for sharing your gift and talents with all of us! God bless you, sir!😃👍
You are so welcome Charles! - hope you have many years of happy painting - it's really is a very relaxing and enjoyable pastime! 😃👍 - but also can be very addictive!!!!
You're right. Paul has a gift of presenting and explaining in such a simple and effective manner. I'm so psyched to try and replicate/imitate Paul's paintings!
Thank you!!! A SPECTACULAR demonstration of the basic techniques one needs to become a competent watercolourist. Just practice this sequence of steps repeatedly to become skilled at watercolor (regardless of the subject matter one favors).
As so many others agree, you are an excellent and conscientious teacher, keeping the demonstration uncomplicated but not forgetting to mention the details that elevate the skill set and make the finished piece better. Thanks again!
Glad it was helpful!
Again can't thank you enough.. have started my "regular" watercolor learning journey from last one and half years . One thing I can say I am motivated to pick up my brushes and paint everyday since I have found your tutorials.. and God I am learning so much and so fast
2ヶ月前から水彩画を描いています。35年ぶりです。
あなたの技法はとても参考になります。写真を撮ってきては、この空をどうやって
描こうかと悩んでいました。ありがとうございます❣️早く描きたくてワクワクしています。
Thank you very much!
A friend referred me to your UA-cam tutorials and I'm very glad I found them. Excellent, so many good techniques and clearly demonstrated.
Awesome, thank you!
This is the project for Sunday 24th January. Today’s was the Mexican building, put in a dog and man having a siesta. Turned out to be really good, very pleased. Tomorrow I want to do the poppy field. Love the free flow of the paint washes. I am really enjoying watching and learning and the results are great, thank you for giving me the confidence to try.
Delighted to help Teryl!
Ohhhh, beautiful 😍
I love what you do
Hello from across the pond. We live in Florida in the Villages. My husband and I watch a Paul Clark video every night. You generally put him to sleep but I enjoy you so much and have learned so much. Your talent for teaching is wonderful. Please don’t stop what you do.
That is awesome! Love the thought of putting someone to sleep 😴
I found this tutorial and tried..... it took me 3 attempts... I struggled with the paper and the Blue... but after switching to better materials it turned out ok. But more importend: I've learned so much!!! Paul, you are such a good teacher! Your comments are always on point, helpful and supportive. Thank you very much!
Greetings from Berlin! 🙋🏼♀️

Paul, I've been following your works for a while... you're a magician with colours!
Thank you so much 😀
I have tried number of your tutorials but I have to say I enjoyed this the most. Can we have more 'abstract' subjects please.
Thanks ... and will do!
Wonderful and delicate work.. Bravo Paul
Thank you! Cheers!
Paul, I just adore your videos! Even though I am a watercolor painter and not an oil painter, I have always loved watching Bob Ross' videos because of his calming voice and fun, carefree approach, with the occasional humorous remark. Now I believe I have found the Bob Ross of watercolor. Your light, unintimidating approach makes it feel so fun and comfortable, and your great sense of humor only adds to it. All of which only enhances the already beautiful work you do. Thank you and I will be watching your videos for life!!
Thanks so much Libby - really appreciate that - have you seen this video? ua-cam.com/video/mfJzKUK0H-o/v-deo.html

Thanks so much and welcome aboard Stephanie! 😊
Thank you for putting these tutorials together and sharing them - its not often people have such a gift for teaching the gift of their craft with such a personable approach! I'm forwarding all of your tutorials and the link to your youtube channel, along with a copy of your beginner techniques book, to my dad who lives on the Garden Route in South Africa. He's promised a watercolour of Urquhart Castle and I'm holding him to his word! Just so that you know - you're a very global phenomenon. Thank you!
Ahhh, great comment - thank you so much Crystal!

@@ArtbyPaulClark It's so true...I have always been told to just get started and not be concerned with perfection. All of your video was perfect witnessing you become comfortable with making tutorials over the past two years has been invaluable. Great job!! 🙏🏽👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
After one year of doing something new during covid, I discovered watercolors. And to top it all off I found Paul Clark. You are the greatest, funniest, most talented teacher I have come across, bar none! I look forward to every Wednesday and mess around with w/c on my own the other six days of the week. Truly addicting. But that's ok.
Happy Holidays to you and Margot.
Wow, thank you! - so good of you to say!

Thank you so much Sunaina - all your comments are very kind - keep in touch!!! 😀
OMG I can't tell you how many times I passed this tutorial because I am useless at painting buildings because of all the drawing that is usually involved but today I bit the bullet and I am so thrilled and amazed to see the relative simplicity with which you created this wonderful cityscape with NO drawing woohoo. I am absolutely going to stop video hopping right now and I am going to do my best to paint this. Thank's so much Paul.
Glad you went for it in the end!!
Paul, another treat. I enjoy your videos so much. Please don't stop making them. Phil from the USA

Glad it was helpful!
Hi Paul I love your relaxed and easy style of painting which is what I aspire to achieve as a beginner in watercolour painting at 75 yrs of age !!
Thank you so much 😀 - never too old to start!!
You make it look so easy, yet I know it takes years of practice. Having said that, if anyone is looking for me, I’ll be in my craft room sloshing paint around. Thank you again for another wonderful technique. You’re so generous with your talent.
My pleasure Marlene!
I'm a beginner trying to learn techniques, and I think this is probably one of the easiest yet most intricate paintings I've ever seen... I think I can do this and I'm so excited to start, thank you for explaining each step of the process so clearly!!!
Glad it was helpful Stephanie and delighted to hear you're going to give it a go! For me it's one of those things I strive for, to try and create the impression of detail in a quick and simple way. - Let me know how you get on!
I learn something every time I watch you. I still haven’t put it to practice though. Soon I hope. Thank you!
You can do it Helen!!
I've been drawing for years but only just started trying my hand at Watercolours. I still haven't worked out my own 'style' yet and seem to chop and change between watercolour and pen and wash. Your courses are excellent - straight to it - no messing about. And your results are first class. Thank you.
Delighted to be of help!!!
Thanks Paul. Looking fwd to paint this. Had a great time watching
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi Paul, I discovered you yesterday when trying to paint some boats. Loved your style and having just returned from a trip to Venice I have been trying to paint boats in Venice which has proven a bit of challenge for me. It is a masterpiece at the end 😉 The finishing touch is that chalk / pastel and the smudging. All that from only 3 colours too😊
Thank you! Cheers Rob! - hope you give it a go!
I used to sketch & paint when in my teens. and then left it after life happened. I am starting to take it off again cuz I really need my concentration back (in this age of binging). I really miss my old self who could read or sketch for hours. Your tutorials are helping a lot ! Learning lots of new techniques. And the overall vibe of this channel is so great Paul !
So pleased I can help Pranav!

Oh wow. Thank you for another superb tutorial. Witty, perfect pace, informative, no waffle.
But oh my, the way the pigments spilt out into blues and reds in the sky and buildings is simply stunning. I must get some rough paper so i can achieve this and the dry brushing, all i have is lots of Not.
Thank you again.

I am learning so much about this wonderful medium thanks to you. The technique where pigments are let to separate is so clever, and it will definitely improve my paintings : )
As one of your future watchers I really enjoyed this tutorial - enjoy all of them actually, but this was full of beginner tips. Mesmerising watching the picture come together like magic before my eyes. 😊
Glad it was helpful Kerri!
