Tremendous, Mr. Vida. The pride in Steve's face as he walked you through the work done on your bike was clearly evident, and then as you drove away and he just watched you with a smile of genuine satisfaction, is absolutely priceless. Clearly a gentleman who takes tremendous pride in his work, and the results of his efforts are crystal clear. For what it's worth from some bloke in Arizona, Genuine Cheers to Steve for his dedication to "doing it right", and truly caring about his work. Great photos as always, Rich. Thanks!!
Richy,Steve is the man for bikes, he's looked after my bikes for 7 years now and I would never go anywhere else, he is such a gentleman and an ace mechanic. Your VFR does look amazing and as the other folks have said on here she's like new. Great video as always and happy you got her back☺
What a great guy that Steve looks, a true professional tradesman and mechanic, clearly takes great pride in his work, fantastic, bike looks great Richy ... 👌🏼
Simply Stunning over haul. To be without your “Beloved” for 7 weeks I think was well worth it. You could see the pride of craftsmanship in Steve’s eyes and grin when he reintroduced you to your “forever keeper”. Well done Sir. Cheers from America. 👍🏼 👏👏👏 😎
I was out on my VFR and thought it does everything a new bike can do and bloody well so what's the point in even considering another bike. There is a reason it's been voted the best all round bike for years. She a keeper for sure!
I just bought a 2004 vfr800 mine is black rims are painted, same exhaust, sarge seat, tinted windscreen, electrical upgrade, factory heated grips and plug ins for suit and phone I love the bike
Well done Richy, most people would have put that ,money towards a new bike but I think you did the right thing. Not cheap as you say but a good job done by someone who clearly has pride in his work which is becoming more difficult to find these days so all in all I'd say you had a good deal there. Enjoy her again, all the best.
Could care less of what brand or bike it is but when you call a bike her, say that you miss it, you feel alone without her and so on and so on. That is a bike that will be cherished, taken care of no matter the cost and go in the family scrap book. Well done and glad that mistress is still being looked after.
Initially I read a comment mentioning the price and thought "Hmm £1500... that's a bit steep" and then Steve started listing all the things done on it: oil change, coolant change, brake fluid change, clutch fluid change, new plugs, new head bearings, new tyres, new throttle cables, new bolts everywhere, new paintwork on wheels and other bits, polishing and buffing the scrapes out PLUS all the labour, time and effort put in! To be honest, now I think £1550 is a proper steal! :o And what a lovely bike it is! Nothing's quite like that true bike love, isn't it? And the best part is - she will never leave you for another man! :D Wish you many more happy miles on it and may the fine weather follow you wherever you go. :)
I have had no experience of a VFR, but I can see that you love yours. You’re absolutely right in what you say about loving what you are familiar with. I have had bikes that have been panned by folks far more knowledgeable than me, but I have loved them. Though in your case, everyone seems to love yours.
That v4 has got such a deep rumble compared to my VF. I hope to have my own VF by the end of the week, can’t wait. Thanks for putting these video’s together the’re awesome.
Absolutely beautiful, Richy!!!! I happy you have her back home in the garage!! I hope to someday send my 1986 VFR to summer camp. Enjoy and looking forward to the next WildBad Tour videos!
I think a second trip to the USA is exactly what she needs. She sure is a beautiful bike, Richy. An absolute stunner. The restoration is money well spent.
All credit to you Richy for keeping the old girl going, and for proving that Honda engines are easily capable of big mileages with the right care and attention. Great to see a Vlogger without brand new personal machinery, keeping it real, keeping it grounded. Well done.
I simply cannot believe how much you got done for so little money. One great advantage of living in the north! I loved my VFR but had to let it go because of a bad back. Ended up with a GS due to the upright position. Loved this video Richie, keep it up!!
Another great Video and it looks like it was money well spent as the VFR looks amazing. I love the part where you look back on your USA tour. It is so cool you have those memories on your own machine. Great stuff. I was born and raised in new Mexico, glad you enjoyed the state.
Looks mint condition again - what a result, money well spent! I had a 2005 VFR800 couple of years back ... your video (12.26) put a smile on my face, remembering the sound of that VTEC kicking in 😁. Great videos, keep them coming 👍
As a guy who's been off bikes for 10 years and looking to get another one I stumbled across this video as I was searching for VFR800 vids. 85000 miles? Damn good bike (and great drone work). I'll be looking for one of these bikes I think. Stay safe Richy.
Doug Ritchie you are not the only one to do that. Am thinking of doing the same. I ride a Blackbird and I’m thinking of getting a VFR800 as a second bike. They appear easier to get on with than the Blackbird.
Tee Sop very easy to overlook this bike in a sea of adventure bikes and all out sports bikes ..would never have considered if hadn’t watched Richy take his all over , once you start looking at the bike and other feedback in more detail ...plus what you getting for the money if you find a good one. swapping up from a 600 bandit . Pick up next weekend ...make my camping gear fit then it’s nc500 time 😀
I had a VFR 750 in the 90 's . Lovely bike and I thoroughly enjoyed it . I'm in my 60's now and haven't ridden a bike in over 15 years . After watching your video God how I miss it 😒
The USA tour was very big. The tour videos were awesome to watch and I am sure it was epic for you guys. But you really only scratched the surface of this country. We here in the states would love to see your band of buddies come back for another visit.
Now that is pure class. What a beauty she’s turned out. £1500 is well worth it. A majestic lady she has turned out to be. A new chapter has now started Richy.
Wonderful! She makes the new generation VFR look homely. Canada awaits your return... I know the US is more enticing but hey, start your journey on the east coast, work your way west through Quebec into Ontario and drop down into the States to cary on.
Woo Hoo!! Glad she's back and looks amazing! Just bought one myself and your channel was a big reason for the choice. It's just the perfect bike. Cheers from Arizona! Love your vids.
Mate it's like a part of you. Its took you to some incredible places. Worth every penny truly an incredible machine. This video is fantastic mate. Cant wait to see where it will take you now. Steve.
Love has no cost Rich. For the pleasure they give they are priceless. Great to see her back and looking so good. Just one question though Rich. The bearded bloke that talks funny. Do you know him. LOL
Fantastic to see her back, not just a bike but a real companion. A stunning video Richy, I always listen to your videos with headphones on to hear that V4 roar. 👍
I’m late to the show but I have to admit that I truly admire your loyalty to your VFR. #2, what a great deal to get all that work done for that price? Wow, hang on to the small shop with a good wrench and reasonable prices! #3, nice drone work - I hadn’t seen any to this point and really liked it. Keep cranking Richy👍
Found your channel yesterday while looking for vfr800 reviews as I'm looking to buy one for my first bike, once I pass my DAS course. Been binge watching your videos all day, and you've utterly convinced me that a vfr800 is the perfect bike for me, a 19st, mature bloke in his 30's looking for a good, comfy, touring bike. Cheers for the content Richy, you got yourself a new sub! 👍👍👏👏
That is one lovely machine richy. Good on ya for getting a mid life done, I think too many treat bikes as disposable. If I can find a bike I like half as much as you do with your VFR I’ll be a happy man. All the best.
What a great shot at the very end. Money well spent mate. Hello from Australia. I feel the same way about my CBR1100xx. She is my second one and I will never part with her. Ever since the first 750-4, Honda have made the most iconic and beautiful superbikes.
Nice job there Rich and Steve obviously. £1500 seems good price actually for indepth service, throttle cable and headstock bearing change, new PR5s and all paint work. Chin Chin to the next chapter.
Got to see the legendary VFR today, looking good buddy. great to meet Richy, and have a chinwag about bikes kit and travel. look forward to many more vid's Craig Paul and Paul cheers🏍🏍🏍
I really understand why you take such good care of her. There are something special about those VFR’s! I just need to look into my garage to get that good feeling. 👍🏻😎
If you like the newer model you should try one from 1994 through 1997 my fave especially with the camshaft gear drive the sound and power delivery, also 525 pounds wet. Smoothe as glass and a fruity Yoshimura Zyclone if you can find one. I had to let mine go for a bathroom remodel and some livingroom furniture. I guess i will have to be good and wait til Heaven to have one again. Bless you brother enjoy Honda, simply the best overall machine you could have. Keep the rubber (Michelin dual compound) down and enjoy the therapy you couldn't get with a million pounds and the best doctors. Peace ur makin me jealous.🏍
Really glad you are happy with your new looking old bike :-) she looks fantastic!. Thanks for all your hard work, we really enjoy your vloggs and appreciate the work that goes into your productions. Hope to bump into you guys one day as we live and ride in the Chesterfield area. Cheers!!
Very nice bike! I had a 14yr love affair with a 5th gen vfr, I now ride a Ninja 1000 and couldn't be happier. i just got a 2002. March 15th i will be riding it for the first time. I'm going nuts watching you and TMF riding that bike! Awesome machine!!
Hope you enjoy it, Patrick!
What a super bike mechanic Steve is and looking at your VFR and the work carried out no wonder you're pleased as punch with the results.
I have had bikes that have been panned by folks far more knowledgeable than me, but I have loved them. Though in your case, everyone seems to love yours.
What a great video, full of emotion, I nearly wept with you mate. I know what you mean by that planted feeling, feel the same about my VFR800X.
The smile on Ste’s face says it all really- thats a guy I want working on my bike.
That v4 has got such a deep rumble compared to my VF. I hope to have my own VF by the end of the week, can’t wait. Thanks for putting these video’s together the’re awesome.

Lovely bike. Never ridden a 6th, but I love my 5th gen. '98. Glad you rode across America on her.
Great to find someone who loves bikes and has a passion to restore tired old bikes. Looking nice!
All credit to you Richy for keeping the old girl going, and for proving that Honda engines are easily capable of big mileages with the right care and attention. Great to see a Vlogger without brand new personal machinery, keeping it real, keeping it grounded. Well done.

Couldn't agree more! I feel sad for those that never make this connection. 👍

Doug Ritchie you are not the only one to do that. Am thinking of doing the same. I ride a Blackbird and I’m thinking of getting a VFR800 as a second bike. They appear easier to get on with than the Blackbird.

After watching your US Tour video I thought maybe getting a nice used vfr again but until then I'll be touring the US on the Ninja, great UA-cam channel you have! hope you can make it back to the US someday.
Almost 140 000 km...I can't believe that! That was possible only with Yamaha tdm 850 in the past...
