I disagree. I really do not want to experience the same Endwalker feeling again.

It’s an interesting line when you consider the fact this ends the saga we started with however ff14 as a whole they wanna continue for another 10 years. We ride again to another end but it’s also a new beginning on the horizon.
the best part is that we see our characters name as the warrior of light at the end credits. It just feels like a movie thinking about how everything just blends together.
They did a bangup job making this expansion feel like it’s about your character more than any other one and I love it dor that
@@charliemcmillan4561 even zenos calling the WoL out for adventuring and fighting for pleasures sake and nothing else, he speaks directly to all players that way, we play the game for fun
@@internaut4257 I enjoyed it doubly so because it can work on both levels. While there is clearly a meta aspect to the dialogue targeting the player, the points made are not out of place in regards to the character of the WoL either. Throughout the game we have had plenty of hints and dialogue options that support the idea that the WoL does enjoy fighting.
"Know that I will kill your god if I have to, possibly even if I don't," is one of the more notable I remember, but there is also a a lot of responses in the Eden raid leaning towards it. But most notably is the Dark Knight quest line which pretty much confirms that the WoL does take pleasure in fighting.
Now all of these are optional dialogue and stuff the player might not have done, but I still appreciated that the dialogue could easily be viewed as not just purely meta, that there are actual hints towards this aspect of the WoL as a character entirely separate from the player.
My character's name is Tim McGraw so it was more funny than anything to me
I am Hrothgar, so me turning to the camera with a stern *>:3* was
_hysterical._
I was doubled-over in actual laughter. The emotional gamut the game was trying to cultivate - of boundless determination, of triumph, of sorrow, of catharsis, of being able to finally carry the weight of _everything_ with comfort - just got fucking *blasted.*
I'll remember it fondly for years.
When you realize that Soken battled cancer while writing this the line "Should we lose our way, tire of all this pain, we won't be afraid to forge ahead" hits different. Then the key change goes up almost as if mimicking his bravery to fight on despite the possibility it all could have ended right then
lol aight
We're eternally blessed that Soken is still here with us, and making more amazing tracks for the game.
Very thoughtful, but he didn't write the lyrics.
soken is a god among men
Soken orchestrated the music, while Koji Fox did the lyrics; but still the uplifting notes all in all was amazing - this entire song is despite his battle with cancer. Soken is a treasured man and composer who we will all miss and mourn once he does pass on in, hopefully, the far future.
So funny that Asmongold and his chat originally reacted to this song as "Oh it's so emo, ew", when if you actually listen to it, it's like the most inspirational and empowering song in FFXIV.
To be fair, his chat is kinda cringe.
Asmongold is a talentless UA-camr who profits off his extremely toxic fanbase.

@@RohanSpartin Too be fair *he's* kinda cringe lmao
I still can't believe how little this trailer spoils, in retrospect
It not only makes sure not to spoil so much but it purposely misleads to not give away scenes that correspond in game.
@@joedatius It's funny but it doesn't actually mislead, but the cinematic team often gets incomplete info when making the trailer.
For example, for the heavensward trailer, they were given direction that "The WoL fights dragons" but only had design infor for Hraesvelgr, so made the odd decision to have the WoL fighting an invading army of Hraesvelgrs.
The devs have also mentioned that the story isn't always 100% finished when the trailers are made. For example, Lyna's role hadn't even been set in stone when ShB's trailer was made.
To be fair, a LOT happened in the second half of endwalker
@@kyuven , I can't help but think of an in-universe director.
"Godsdamn it! We forgot to get Ranaa for this scene!"
"What do you suppose we do, sir?"
"Uh... Get Lyna to choreography. She's the only person we have on-hand that uses chakrams."
I remember saying this the day the trailer dropped, literally all the dialogue amounts to "Some shit is about to go down..."

Don't let this banger of a track distract you from the fact that when Y'shtola walks away from the twins' dad at 4:56 she runs into a desk (4:32 for the room's setup) and likely trips and falls over in a comical fashion because Endwalker never misses an opportunity to bully the poor girl.

I love how the lyric of that part changed from Dragons singing about killing human’s hero to seeking vengeance against the Final Days / Calamity.
@@marshalldreamer I think it's more that even the Dragons weren't immune to the causes of the Final Days. Can you imagine if Nidhogg were still around? We didn't see anything but mortal people turning into Blasphemies, but...Just imagine. Even if he himself couldn't, his mere presence would have turned most of Ishgard alone. And all because he was that full of hate, of anger, of blind rage, justified or not. He was already, alone, a powerful enough force to be a calamity...If even Dragons can become Blasphemies, he might have sparked an unstoppable slide.

For some reason the Heavensward section "Mah Morn" hits super hard and gives me chills
I absolutely love how they took the lyrics from Heavensward's theme:
Dys An Sohm In (Our slumber disturbed,)
Rohs An Kyn Ala na (All my brothers wake.)
Mah Morn Na-ah-ah-ahrr (The saviors must perish.)
Sahl Djahs Afah An (Vengeance will be ours.)
Eorzea!
And turned it into this:
Dys An Sohm In (Our slumber disturbed,)
Rohs An Kyn Ala na (All my brothers wake.)
Mah Morn (Death comes.)
Dys An Sohm In (Our slumber disturbed,)
Sahl Djahs Afah An (Vengeance will be ours.)
It's just beautifully symbolic of the events of Heavensward as well as Estinien's growth as a character. The lyrics from Heavensward were from Nidhogg's point of view. He was rousing his kin with his Dragonsong in order to destroy Ishgard.
However, in Endwalker, the lyrics are from Vritra's perspective. He's calling his kin in order to fight the Final Days. And Estinien is now fighting from the back of a dragon.
True.
You know what I propably love the most about this? The feelings people shared in this comment section and how different parts of the story have affected them.
Some specifically name Heavensward, others Shadowbringer and also Stormblood is mentioned in a fair amount.
I for one am someone who only joined this adventure recently. seeing how much this game, nay this journey, means to my fellow players is truly warming my heart.
for real. this is my first time looking at comments and now i know i'm not alone in how deeply this game and it's story has moved me
This is why I hate, that the comment section on official trailer uploads is disabled. I want to hear about other players experiences.
Heavensward was the most meaningful to me, my character being an Ishgardian Dragoon of no small renown. As per her personal story, (aside from the whole WoL in game story thing) her greatest shame and regret was that she wasn't there to kill Nidhogg.
"A smile better suits a hero" I think was the moment I felt my character truly become the warrior of light and a part of the story, not just the stoically silent chosen one that can muscle through problems no one else can because I'm special.
Shadowbringers wrecked me man. Standing there watching Emet Selch die and realizing he was just trying to bring his world back from the brink of destruction. Then turn around and watch how distraught Elidibus was when he was defeated.
The only part that compares is the Elpis flower at the end of Endwalker. It really tied in everything that happened, what Venat was trying to do and why the Ascians wouldn't be able to defeat the Endsinger.
Just a beautiful story all around.
"Stories sown along the way. Tales of loss and fire and faith."
So true for this game and all the awesome times we have had and still will have!
They also sorta alure to the previous expansions. loss=shadowbringers fire=stromblood and faith=heavensward
I always say this the other way around. Loss being Heavensward (Ysayle, Haurchefaunt), Fire being Stormblood (more obvious) and Faith being Shadowbringers (Graha’s unwavering faith in the Player)
@@evilcow111 Not just Graha's unwavering faith in us, but our own unwavering faith in our comrades in the end that saved us. If we, for one second, doubted them at the end in ShB, we would have fallen.
To me, this spot feels and reminds me of late 2.0 doing the coils of bahamut, seeing Alisae for the first time as she began her journey to become who she is today, it’s a perfect excerpt to bind together all of 2.0, the realm that rose from the ashes
Damn...The Punk Rock/Emo vibes from Sam Carter (The Architects) and the positive message from the lyrics to keep pushing forward, even through all of the pain, to keep the faith, believe in hope, and forge ahead....it gets me every time.
Honestly, this was the perfect opportunity for Sam to sing a song for Ff14. The vibe fits perfectly with what he does with architects
God - the segment from 5:04 never fails to choke me up:
Fearless hearts ablaze (When the world comes crumbling down)
No more time to waste (Know I'll be there)
No, it's not too late (Though our fleeting moment has gone)
To forge ahead (You're not--you're not alone YEAH)
Paladin main here, and main tank for my close irl friends.
Best believe when I see that sequence my heart starts slamming.
I like the think the second voice is Hydaelyn.
Ngl that part is very emotional.
Allow me to fuck you up a bit more. Read the lyrics of the background vocals in the context of Hydaelyn speaking to you, Her Warrior of Light.
The whole segment is you the Warrior of Light (Main vocal) and Venat (support vocal). That's why it chokes you up.
Sometimes I lament the decline of movie OSTs, but then I think about all the amazing video game music that exists and is being produced, and it doesn't feel so bad.
Im so in awe at the graphics in this trailer. They've made the scions look so real. Especially Urianger and Thancred. Its heartwarming to me.
RIGHT?! That part when the song drop and it shows thancred look at urianger feels so real. That moment somehow stuck in my mind as much as the last part where WoL is on moon looking badass.
With Masayoshi Soken confirmed to be composing the soundtrack for Final Fantasy XVI, I truly hope he will create another fantastic song like this one. I haven't played FF14 but this might be one of my favourite songs, honestly
It's gonna be a treat in FF16 especially when you learn that this song is a mash up of all the expansions main themes.
The Shadowbringers and Endwalker themes are inarguably some of the best songs in the entire franchise.
It’s a shame that so many FF fans who don’t play 14 don’t even know they exist.

I've been listening to this song over and over again since the teaser trailer, and I don't think it's ever getting old. It's just a part of me now.
I carry it with me wherever I go.
It's amazing how this song, and the trailer itself imo, is freaking timeless. The epicness never fails to deliver, time and again
I started listening to this trailer again for the first time in months since beating the msq and I started crying slightly God this damn game is too good
Everytime I feel depressed I listen to the "should we lose our way, tire of all this pain, we won't be afraid to forge ahead" part and it pumps me up just enough to keep going
For those we lost and those we can yet save
Best thing about this song? It is it's own but also Heavensward, Stormblood and Shadowbringers at the same time, just like it should be for a continuation. I simply love this!
i havent yet played FF14 but how does one song make me feel so passionately about a game ive never played
its uncanny
Can't say it's impossible
Legit one of the reasons I got into fire emblem were some of the songs in smash. Looked in the gallery, found the game it was part of, went out of my way to secure a copy. Played it and fell in love with it. Tried other games and fell in love with the series as a whole.
The power of music is often underestimated when it comes to ones interests.
FFXIV does that to people, yeah. when that happens, you know that game is REALLY good (compare with Warcraft, which feels like either a slog, or a very depressing read-through of a emo diary)
This song made me start playing it. Best decision I've made, I finished A Realm Reborn and now just started Heavensward (the first expansion). A Realm Reborn already was awesome in my opinion and got me hyped, can't wait what the next expansions have to offer story-wise.

I don't see a lot of people mentioning this, but the key change at 5:06 + The second voice who most likely is Venat singing those words of encouragement, reminding us that we are not alone hits absolutely hard everytime
"When the world comes crumbling down know I'll be there"
"Though our fleeting moment has gone you are not alone"
"As you turn your eyes to the stars, oh, I'll be there"
"With my chorus guiding you"

Ever since finishing Endwalker I still get choked up every time I hear that part. Venat is my favorite character and I wish we’d had more time with her, but that fleeting moment we had in Elpis was enough to give her strength through 12,000 years of suffering as Hydaelyn, and to give us hope as we journeyed through the stars.
I had no clue what those words said until now; your comment makes so much sense and now I'm gonna cry even harder when this orchestrion roll plays in my house 🤣😭
I've always considered that second voice to be Ardbert's voice but your idea works too
Fun thing, If you listen to "Close in the Distance", the Notes the come in after the Chorus, when the song is winding down? It's the exact same key and notes as those background lyrics are sung in. Circles within Circles man.
The last battle with Zenos was one of the most epic moments in this game. it brings a tear to my eye whenever I reminisce about the first time I witnessed it.
Whenever the expansion trailers reach a crescendo there is always some very cool imagery to go with it. In Shadowbringers the dark knight destroys the sin eater and opens the sky with a mighty blow, here the light of the cosmos dance on the paladin's armour as he stands ready to defend the planet.

People keep saying how cool his transition from dark knight with hoodi to shining armor of paladin while me here.. seeing WoL from happy young boyish warrior becoming handsome, rough, serious and matured hero.
I only just realized that the protagonist going from Dark Knight in Shadowbringers to Paladin here is a reference to Cecil from FF4 which is apt because you go to moon.
Yup!
I think that's badass
Proof they've been playing the long game.
Sam Carter is such a talented artist. Having had the privilege to meet him after an architects show, I’m so happy to see he got such a massive gig from square enix.
In the early days of Architects once he joined they actually played Shinra's theme, at least the once I saw them in 2012. He's a diehard FFVII and XII nerd.
5:05 This part right here is my favorite from all the themes in FF14 up till now 😁
Same! Especially the backing vocals accompanying the main lyrics.😭
yeah my mind was blown by how the lyrics connected to the story and how nice that final chorus sounds!!
Agreed the way the 2 singers sing different lyrics at the same time and somehow manage to harmonize it's something else.
Fun fact about this song, all previous expansions have representation in this song. ARR has instrumental bits, Heavensward has a few stanzas, Stormblood....well that bit is obvious by the lyrics but also the MELODY of the lyrics is actually the SAME melody used in Kugane and the Stormblood battle theme! Shadowbringers is minor but the "One brings shadow, one brings light" bit, I believe, is the reference to Shadowbringers.
@@RED_XLR Pretty sure it’s the same vocalist, no?
Me being a FFXIV player and a metalcore / metalhead and hearing Sam Carter from Architects in a ffxiv theme. Its the best thing ever for me.
The trailer for Endwalker dropped when I was feeling pretty crappy about my life, and this song was just a beautiful balm on my soul, especially the last part when it's so uplifting.

Just finished MSQ last night. Seeing and listening to the trailer again, I see it in a different light. All the pain and despair that, we as the WoL, endured to the end left such an impact that I havent had in a game. FF14 is one of the few games where I legitimately cried from. It was such a good way to end the story. Now on to the next grand adventure.
The countdown before the "Our song of Hope" verse drops is brilliant. Well done. 👍
From an adventurer that came to this land from a carrige or boat
To the saviour of Eorzea, vanquisher of the Ultima Weapon

The Warrior of Darkness of the First
To the hope of the Star
While we are the Warrior of Light we are still that wide eyed adventurer from the very beginning, and that I can't deny.
Because my old comment got deleted with the old video
WoL - Day One: Hi, I need some work...
End of ARR: Well, that was hell. Glad I don't have to do anything like that again!
End of HW: Look, when I said I needed work I didn't sign up for ending a thousand year blood feud!
End of StB: Okay, I freed two damn countries, can I... Do something normal now?
End of ShB: Okay, how can I top saving another world! I'll go back to simple jobs now!
End of EW: ...I just wanted a job man...
XD
@@kazekamiha Literally EVERYONE ELSE: _no._
@@kazekamiha My WoL feels the same way bruh. XDDDDDDD
@@kazekamiha Congrats you're hired. You'll save the world every other tuesday.
@@Selvokaz WoL: What in the hell are the worlds doing, why do they need to be saved that consistently?!
I fear the rolling of the dice on this one, but as always, it's good to see your version of this up again.
I like the juxtaposition of "Storm of Blood, born from blood, of our fallen brothers" with Fandaniel. Makes it feel like it's about the Ascians instead of the Domans or Ala Mhigans, fits really well thematically with this stage of the story and who he is
Fadaniel
This song hyped the MSQ so much, and let me say, it does not disappoint. The story does This song justice and more. If anyone is just starting endwalker, prepare to laugh, be hyped, and be prepared to cry. Good luck Warriors of Light
I feel like I'm going to listen to this years down the line and just ball my eyes out
I love how you can hear an element of a realm reborn and every expansion's soundtrack, to really sell that endwalker is the finale
Yeah it’s like 4 songs stitched up together. In a good way.
YESSSS the trailer version, finally! I hope this stays up! The trailer version is so much more impactful than the official version they released.
Well this is a piece of media history now. Even if it's taken down it will keep finding its way back up.
I was brought up by gnostic parents or rather on hermetic or alternative spiritual teachings/ideas and at a very young age exposed to principles such as existential nihilism and cosmic mysticism, while also being taught the baselines and ideas of most world religions, at least on the surface - among other things like books on our solar system or mapping moon craters and constellations with my telescope as a kid pretty much as soon as I could read myself, thematically internalized such concepts which made the whole expansion and all the layers its build upon, and especially Meteion, Hermes, Dynamis and the experiences in Ultima Thule and Elpis, very engaging and relatable on a personal level which still deeply moves me to this day as I watch this video and recall the impressions the whole project left on me, whole body chills - fear not friends, and stay strong, to the edges of infinity, the void and beyond where you will find that which gives form to the powers of entropy and the concept of order spiraling in eternal contest through the universe ultimatly challenging you to a test of your conviction, willpower, passion and most imporantly: your relfexes
W E A K - Zenos 1v1 Ex to Savage to Ultimate, for us weary wanderers when? /sigh
you know, I really like the game :)
All I hear is "A test of your reflexes!"
Ripe for the taking!
"DO NOT TELL ME YOUR LIFE'S FIRE IS ALREADY SPENT!!!"
@@Jinspike0625 that I can't deny

Between XIV and the trailers for XVI, I fully believe that CBU3 could be the future of FF. These guys just know how to make stuff that's plain awesome
What killed it for me is that this is a MMO, i just can't enjoy the main story that much when it's filled with forced grinding and forgettable side content. I'm hoping for them that FF16 will be a new start, say goodbye to FF14 and start a new era for the franchise.
@@Kumire_921 There's almost no forced grinding if you just wanna do the main quest tho?
@@itsmeCrackx ARR is full of grind, it gets better from Heavensward but reaching that point took me ages
I remember first watching this trailer, feeling sentimental and nostalgic at the beginning, then awestruck, then feeling my blood boil at who I thought was Asahi, then get goosebumps at the music and the eeriness of the Giger-esque tower, and the perfection of the imagery of the elevator soaring for the heavens while the scream for freedom plays in the background......this whole masterpiece just has layers of meaning, and is utterly emotional and inspiring at the same time. I could listen to this song and watch the trailer endlessly. This song is a tapestry of many elements woven to perfection. I love it so much. Thank you for the video. Kudos to all involved at SE and beyond.
The best part is when Yshtola just bangs her staff down in front of the entire Sharlyan council, clearly establishing dominance. Then just walks out turning her back on them all. It's so symbolic
I call this powerful move "cat thump"! 😅
Until you think about it. She turns around and walks directly into the desk
@@bobpoop6076 Also like a cat would.
I just started this game a month ago and I've watched this trailer quite a few times already. I just barely finished ARR so not even close to Endwalker yet but I love this cinematic with all my heart.
I was the same way. None of it it really even spoilers except for one scene. I started ARR during Stormblood while the hype for upcoming shadowbringers was hot, and I definitely didn’t feel spoiled by any of the trailers. If anything, I looked forward to it even more.
@@Rennat9002 I dunno, I didn't see anything that spoiled anything really, save maybe Esti and Vrtra, but without context no one had any real idea who Vrtra was save he had something to do with Thavnair. Hell, a lot of people thought it was a female dragon for some reason.
watch all ffxiv trailers from the beginning to endwalker. All the trailers are awesome
The whole game is special to me but heavensward and stormblood especially remind me of a certain time perioid in my life, a lot of big things happening, not bad but big…and also i played the game a lot, a bit less now because i’m a bit more busy but still whenever i have enough time i play and still have a blast every time i log in
I love the Heavensward part. I wish there was a full version!
The bagel has come to reap the sinners
A full version of the Heavensward part would be Heavensward......
In the same instruments...
You knew what I meant but decided to be pedantic anyway :p
I sometimes come back and listen to this, it really is one of the finest things they've made in the game
Hearing the song for the first time as she starts singing was easily one of the most memorable moments ive had in the last year.
Her vocals sent a chill down my spine I don’t think I’ll ever forget. Ever.
Now knowing there is a place for this song in the game, and where that place is. Just makes it that much more powerful
God I want that Heavensward motif shot directly into my veins. It fills me with life in a way I can’t describe.
Every transition of the music and lyric sang is so purposeful and well placed. It may just be video game music but it's deserving to be heard and appreciated far more than that. At @3:24 how it switches back to the Shadowbringers singer(Amanda), how all the lyrics throughout pay tribute to each expansion, peppered with the respective leitmotifs to musically live from the journey start to its completion... Soken is perhaps the most masterful yet in his craft. I wish him many successful yet happy and healthy years in spite of his more recent health set back.
3:25 I've been missing this part from the moment I saw the Endwalker trailer and now I'm glad I have this orchestrion. Our song of hope 😭❕❕
the song has an orchestrion roll?
ON WINGS OF HOPE WE RISE UP THROUGH THE NIGHT
HIGHER, OH HIGHER
@@taicanium E'ER OUR VOWS ENDURE
AND REMAIN FOREVER STRONG
STANDING TALL IN THE DARK DO WE CARRY ON
ON WINGS OF HOPE RISE UP THROUGH THE NIGHT HIGHER, OH HIGHER
The part I honestly love the most about this whole theme, is that it describes both our past and future.
"For those we have lost, and for those we might yet save."
Have just made it to Endwalker and man it really does feel like I’m about to step into the culmination of all my adventures so far. Couldn’t be more excited or nervous.
Enjoy the ride, fellow Warrior of Light !
Finished 6.0 weeks ago and it’s still stuck with me to this day. Would take literal pages worth of text to even try and put my feelings into words so I’ll just sum it up into 4:
I am still crying.
4:34 this part? Just perfect
Just waiting for his friend to show up...
I like it when composers make several music pieces/songs coming from a single suite
Hearing this song at the end of the MSQ was very awesome and gave me a very warm and happy feeling. It felt like a reward at the end of a very long journey that was full of so many emotions. And as a result it just makes me treasure that journey even more, and kind of wishing I could experience it again.
"As you turn your eyes to the stars, oh i ll be there, whith my chorus guiding you" ... the Ultima thule Close in the distance theme ...
I just love how the song tells the entire story with the themes of ARR and every expansion blended in so nicely
I've just started my FFXIV journey about 2 months ago and I genuinely cannot stop playing!
4:33 hits me like a truck. The key signature, the beat, the lyrics, all say "this is it, this is the end."
I just beat EW a few days ago and hearing this song keeps making me tear up
I am Hydaelyn's bravest little spark
I beat it not too long ago myself. The feels are so strong.
This song helped me get through some rough shit, and for that I will be ever thankful.
4:03 i love this beat and mommy is cool too
I just have 1 word for this, "breathtaking"
This song is so legendary I’m still coming back feb 2024 for it. ❤️ haven’t played in years but my God this TRACK
Endwalker msq spoilers:
In the quest after g’raha sacrifices himself, as your walking up that long windy path with alisaie If you talk to her at one of the glowy spots she says “All I can hear are my footfalls. My heartbeat. It's so much quieter now...”
I always thought it was a nice reference to this song
