This is a more detailed process on how to sew the concealed button placket and collar for my chambray blouse. I rarely have opportunities to sew plackets & collars so it can be an intimidating process for me. However, when I break it down into simple steps, it's not so bad. Agree? I attached concealed button placket pattern for you. Well, I hope you will be able to learn something from this video.

{0:14} Concealed Button Placket Pattern

{0:28} Transferring the lines onto the fashion fabric
{1:17} Pressing the folding lines
{1:29} Pin & sew down the center
{1:42} Transfer button & slit placements
{2:02} Cut Slits & seal with fray check
{2:16} Sew on Buttons
{2:27} Sew Placket together
{2:41} Collar
{2: 51} Iron on interfacing
{2:57} Sew Collar together
{3:10} Clip corners
{3:19}Flip inside out & Press
{3:32} Edgestitch
{3:41} baste stitch 5/8" on collar band that is not interfaced, fold up, press & trim 1/4"
{3:54} Lay side of uninterfaced collar on top of the interfaced collar band, lay the other collar band on top & pin
{4:14} Sew together, cut slits along curve
{4:38} Sew collar to shirt
{4:53} hand stitch collar band to shirt
{5:10} Edgestitch collar band
{5:23} Sew on the buttonhole & button & you are complete! :)

Should the concealed button placket piece be the same LENGTH as the front shirt piece that it's being sewn to? I have a commercial pattern for a shirt that I'm working on and not only is the concealed button placket piece longer than the front shirt piece but the notches on each piece don't match up. I'm trying to figure out if this is an error in the pattern pieces.

Wonderful concise video……however, each time you show a technique, you do not have to say “I’m going to…….or, I…..”. I don’t think there is anyone else to do the technique. Just sayin’.
