    Daniel recanting his days on the shire when the fog would roll in. Rex totally missed a ball busting moment.

    I love how Daniel added more whiskey to his glass before adding water, and when Rex tried to mooch another pour to add water to his, Daniel told him to quit drinking it all. Subtle but nice...

    Tomatin is one of my favourite distilleries! The 12 is perfect for hotter weather! But, btw, it's To-MA-tin. ;). So, glad you guys are able to keep these reviews going! :)

    I just pulled the trigger on the 2024 version of this..
    I love that they have a vision, a plan, and are experimenting and working towards it.
    The basics remain scientific but they are trying new methods and casks to evolve this whisky.

    Great vid, first one I've watched on the channel so now subbed.
    I travelled up to Scotland a few weeks ago for a wedding and came back with a bottle of this with the newer branding. It was my first bottle of scotch ever and I liked it so much I've just bought another bottle online. Looking forward to checking through the rest of your vids and deciding what single malt to try out next

    So glad you enjoyed the dram! We've had a bit of a makeover but the whisky you are tasting in the video is the exact same liquid as our "Signature" expression. Cheers guys!

    I was thinking, all of these distilleries, such as Balvenie, Westland, Tomatin, etc all do "Peat Week" type releases. What if Laphroaig or Ardbeg did a "Non-Peat Week" release? That would be very interesting to explore! Also, are we ever going to see the Rex Daniel's charcoal filtered bourbon from the distillery? lol

    I know there are actual stories of dog like creatures in the legends of Scotland & other areas of the British Islands, but the tale about the whiskey's name is basically the first encounter with the legendary pokemon in the new games. There's a dense fog & you walk up to it to reach out only to have it disappear as if it was never there. Wonder if someone at Game Freak is a fan?

    I know this is off topic but is Blantons bourbon worth the price. 160 bucks. Never had it before just wondering if its a good taste for the mouth or a nasty one sip and spit deal
    Still wondering what you can mix with that 190 proof. Everclear to make it drinkable lol. OJ and Mohawk is still harsh but one and done Drunk. Good also for starting camp fires while out hunting .

    • @jarrettjordan
      @jarrettjordan 4 роки тому

      I usually put "homebrew" in mine, but I've also had success barreling cheap whiskeys to get a more developed flavor on them. Benchmark probably worked the best. It's just young Buffalo Trace; so, after a few weeks I had a normal Buffalo Trace for $9/bottle. Four Roses was pretty good, too.
      Depending on the size of your barrel, the aging will go much faster than it does in the distillery. In a 1L barrel, 3 weeks will take new make to a nice golden brown. It's all about the charred surface area to total volume ratio.
