A couple of things about the F-117. The engine powering the Nighthawk is called the F1D2. It is the same engine used on the FA/18 legacy Hornets, the A-D models. However, the F1D2 has no afterburner because it would not fit into the F-117. (It is the reason that the ordinance and fuel load were limited). So theAB scene is bogus. Secondly, the area of the fuselage that held the special forces is far to small to accommodate more than one or two(and it would be tight) people unless you ommited the engines, lol. Also the aft fuselage houses the classified ducting that diffuses and reduces the heat signature. The F-14's featured were from VF-84 out of NAS Oceana, Virginia. The squadron sent a four plane detachment to NAS Key West, where the film's aireal sequences were filmed out of. You should review " The bridges at Toko-Rih" next. Movie was made in 1954 und shows an aircraft carrier with wooden decks, skyraiders and F9 Panther. You also have a search and rescue scene and emergency landing. It's worth a look.
5:35 basically like that Helios airline flight where everyone including the passengers fell asleep, asphyxiated and the plane crashed? It could work given before that crash the pressure warning wasn't as noticeable as other warnings, but it could tick off the terrorists into trying something funny hearing the constant beeping, like shooting people in the cabin.
7:09 - I can say with 100% certainty that there is a hatch that is on the bottom of 47’s that allows access to the inside of the plane. It may not be in the exact place depicted in the movie but it does exist. If you ever watch the pilots on the 747 DreamLifter they use it regularly. It’s there to allow pilots and crew to get on and off the plane if no air stairs are available. The VC-25 and E-4B variants are the only 47’s I’m aware of that have their own air stairs, the E-4 isn’t a proper air stair like you think of or see on AF1, it’s a much shorter set of stairs that leads to the sealed cargo door setup they use to enter the E-4. I know this information to be accurate because I have family who worked on these aircraft.
They were so pleased that they got the “gear” handle right that they did it twice !!!! “That doctor’s gonna be pissed” - Did he mash a V-tailed Bonanza ? I missed that ! I lost it at, “I guess if you’re on a short runway, you’d better start early” !!!!
17:20 - You know as well as I do that commercial airliners are designed to be able to overcome the decompression from one window blowing out. I would imagine based on the size of a 47 that it would be able to withstand more than one window blowing out.
In my 16 years as a fight attendant with UAL it was constantly drilled into our heads that in the event of a rapid decompression you; sweep the nearest mask to your face, sit down and hold on. Because the aircraft is going to descend to a breathable altitude rapidly. There is an extra mask in each row for two reasons. 1, for a lap child and 2, for a cabin crew to grab. Don't be surprised about what a flight attendant knows. Pre 9/11 I spent a lot of time in the cockpit with the pilots and I about 5 times the hours as Kurt Russel in the movie. Could I land one, not unless God intervened. I could work the radios and knew the control inputs but I'm sure i would crash trying to land unless it was a Cat 3 aircraft with working computers. I once rode the cockpit jumpseat in 737-300 from IND to ORD on a ferry flight and never saw the runway until we were down. When I asked the Captain how he did that he said "the computer landed not me."
My Mom wanted to see this movie so bad when it came out because she loved Steven Seagal and got upset when he was killed off! The first time the Mythbusters did the decompression thing it didn't work but they realized they didn't account for the air moving over the plane at speed AND altitude, the second time they tryed it was plausible.
I know you’ve been going thru hell brother , good to see you back and busting ass! Missing my daughters like crazy and lost my mom to cancer 11/3 , finically jsut getting back to pushing on in life. We miss them and it hurts but we continue with happy memories.

good spot on the Heli Collective @ 7:30 i thought you might have missed that. and you jumped ahead slightly on something else critical @ 5:50 you clipped off a very important message, the Doppler Imaging System that supposedly revealed the airflow around the aircraft and revealed the 'sweet spot' of laminar airflow. if you go back and review it, you will see that its also revealing the turbulence and even the wingtip vortices, it goes down in some places revealing parasitic drag.
and yes, that is a actual hatch on the 747, and it is the external hatch into the avionics bay, but hollywood grossley oversized that avionics bay, its not even 1/4 the size it really is in actuality. Airforce One with Harrison Ford, that avionics bay is FAR MORE realistic in size. THIS: www.billzilla.org/747avionicsbay.jpg is the real avionics bay, and yes, can be accessed from internal the aircraft in the first class nose cabin right by the #1 left side door. or, externally just aft and port of the nose wheel box, which is what they were targeting as the hatch @ 7:04
@25:00 they were shooting a Sparrow, they said it multiple times, and even when the morse code was starting his RIO shouted out, hey GO COLD ON THE SPARROW.
At 13:42 the F-14 that flashes her weapon at the pilots is carrying an AIM-9(1a and 8a stations) and AIM-7(1b and 8b stations) under each glove, with an AIM-54 in each of the forward tunnel 6 and 3 stations(on pallets) with another AIM-7 in the center rear in the #5 station with room for another immediately rearward in the #4 position(though we cant see the possible 4th AIM-9. That would be a 70,000 plus pound cat shot.
Not sure about F-14D hud but I do know that lead was not pulling 5.2G flying straight and level behind that 747. And I think he was a bit close to be firing a sparrow. What is their min range because lead was definitely at point blank range.
Hi Mover, I've been enjoying watching some of your Mover Ruins Movies recently, and it's been mentioned before that they had 3 Tomcat advisors on the movie, as they had permission from the DoD to use VF-84 for filming, it was their last movie hurrah before they were disbanded, and VF-103 (now VFA-103) took over as the new Jolly Rogers
The Tomcat has the best movie presence of all fighters. Ever. The F22 just looks sleek, but I can't imagine the F22 doing the missile flash move showing off its payload. Since you can't see its payload.
9:30 Well, they have a second airplane attached to the 747. I guess that messed up the flight characteristics and caused the overreaction to the turbulence. 11:30 I guess the idea might be that having the tube ripped off like that causes structural damage to the fuselage of the airplane. That would be a poor design, but it could happen.
Alrigh! Alright Mover i give up on you dropping a hot pickle on Flight of the Intruder. Think you would be able to drop one on a episode of Swat Cats!!!

Best show on UA-cam, I love mover ruins movies !!!!!
Watched this movie due to Mover's review. The footage featuring the flight of four F-14's was my favourite part.
Hey, I never realized Whip Hubley (Sgt Baker) was in this movie -- "Hollywood" from Top Gun.
I knew he looked familiar!
He was Kurt Russell's brother in law also a tombstone connection with Val Kilmer too.
Could you do Flight of the Intruder and Firefox?
I think Firefox is a little too sci-fi with little in the way of real life military in the movie, but certainly Flight of the Intruder.
Flight of the intruder for sure. Pretty cool flight scenes in that one. Good book too.
@@turbo-6.7l21 You'd never forget their solo attack on Sam City, that's for sure!
Loved that book as a kid ,,, will never forget Lt Jake Grafton
@@turbo-6.7l21 and some of the more realistic in hollywood.. the scene at the beginning when they launch a SA-2 at them and Grafton puts the missile in beaming (at 3 oclock) and begins droping chaff..and except for the hollywood "missile launch" and "distance to missile" the cockpit and displays are pretty accurate for the A-6
14:03 love that shot. Excellent aerial footage.
You know I‘m a complete layman with all the specifics but it’s mighty impressive how many relevant informations you pick up in a split second. Maybe it’s a fighter jock thing. Make and model of an aircraft moving by. Load. Impressive. All I see is hey a fly thingy. You see A model clean wrong HUD wrong this . Impressive and very very entertaining. Never regretted my subscription.
also at 11:51 when the pilot bailed the rest of the people in the stealth aircraft just died from the pilot bailing🤣😂😎👍 good job!
Dude I have really grown to love your videos man, keep up the good work.
"Maybe...but No" Great t-shirt, especially if you are meeting a girl you really don't like.
This was worth the wait, Mover. Thanks!
So glad you’ve done this one!
good spot on the Heli Collective @ 7:30 i thought you might have missed that.
and you jumped ahead slightly on something else critical @ 5:50 you clipped off a very important message, the Doppler Imaging System that supposedly revealed the airflow around the aircraft and revealed the 'sweet spot' of laminar airflow. if you go back and review it, you will see that its also revealing the turbulence and even the wingtip vortices, it goes down in some places revealing parasitic drag.
and yes, that is a actual hatch on the 747, and it is the external hatch into the avionics bay, but hollywood grossley oversized that avionics bay, its not even 1/4 the size it really is in actuality. Airforce One with Harrison Ford, that avionics bay is FAR MORE realistic in size.
THIS: www.billzilla.org/747avionicsbay.jpg
is the real avionics bay, and yes, can be accessed from internal the aircraft in the first class nose cabin right by the #1 left side door. or, externally just aft and port of the nose wheel box, which is what they were targeting as the hatch @ 7:04
@25:00 they were shooting a Sparrow, they said it multiple times, and even when the morse code was starting his RIO shouted out, hey GO COLD ON THE SPARROW.
Gotta love the Jolly Rogers with those all black tails! TOMCATS!
This is some good shit. Please do EVERY movie that has an airplane in it. If you're a masochist, start with the recent Shadow in the Cloud.
He might have fun with the "Turbulence" finale, though I think his brain could implode 😅
Movers face when they busted out the Remora diagram 😂😂😂 GOLD
3:09
12:38 - I’m dying Mover! 😂😂😂
Both SEAL tean six and Delta tested the rapid decompression, and found bullet holes don't make any significant impact on the aircraft.
2:29 "All pilots say I'm a pilot" -actually true xD
24:36 thank goodness for that runway obstruction for the 19 South approach.
Did anyone notice the sign while he was "crash" landing that said "learn to fly" while taking out those other aircraft?
Yes, good placement....
Can't help from laughing every time an F14 pops up on the screen and he says "TOMCATS!". Not sure why it just gets me.
Thanks Mover, I spewed coffee through my nose with some of the play by play.
O wow this movie has a nice cast.. never seen this movie before
Love evert Wednesday for Mover Ruins Movies!
The Tomcat has the best movie presence of all fighters. Ever. The F22 just looks sleek, but I can't imagine the F22 doing the missile flash move showing off its payload. Since you can't see its payload.
Great breakdown Mover! Pretty good movie over all, Halle Berry just makes it better! Thanks brother!
Spot on. That's exactly what happened in the movie.
Know we’re in for a good one with the look on movers face in the thumbnail
Alrigh! Alright Mover i give up on you dropping a hot pickle on Flight of the Intruder.
Think you would be able to drop one on a episode of Swat Cats!!!
"Careful, I'm a pilot...and I only care about me!"
18:32 - The didn’t ask for fuel remaining or souls on board either.
Also it’s normal to be cleared to land when you don’t even have the runway in sight and haven’t established an approach....
23:24 - Fun fact: This guy’s character later went to work flying the DreamLifter, he made a similar landing at short runway later in his career.....
I had to watch twice because you make the spoofs even more spoofy when you point out ALL and I do mean all of Hollywood's lack of intel when it comes to trying to keep it real as possible.😆😆😆😆😅🤣
"that.....is a helicopter stick" I laughed pretty hard
"I'm a pilot!" Thats how you know he's a pilot haha. It reminds me of that saying; you know how you know someone is from the Bronx? Because they make it a point to tell you they're from the Bronx. I did laugh when I saw this movie in the theater and saw Steven Segal get sucked out of the cramped F-117 in the very beginning. The helicopter collective made me laugh too. This movie parallels with "Air Force One" in my head. But I liked the fighter escort scene in that better because the F-15s tangled with MiGs.
Enjoyable Mover thanks for the chuckles from Ireland 🇮🇪
I LOVE the F117. There’s been 2 out in Skywalker canyon being seen with 2 Vipers over the last year. Interesting they were said to be grounded years ago makes me wonder why their doing training in 2022 still!?
