Greetings from Berlin. Henry, your channel makes me curious about BIAB. It really is a brilliant software that looks boring but has huge potential under the hood.
It has unlimited potential but like anything else to get the most out of it you've really got to dive deep into it. But it's fairly easy to get started. I will say that it is limited in some Genres and I don't use if when I create Club/EDM music or old Soul.
Thank you for your cool ideas, you got me subscribed as you mention on your channel "Senior Musicians Unite" and I am 64 as The Beatles'song. I used to be a quite devoted PG Music user from the days of DOS but then absent for maybe this at least 10 years and thanks again for tickling my musical fun with your channel got recommended by youtube and clicked. Cheers.
Thank you so much Henry!! I've been using BIAB for 2 years now & did not know about the last 3 skills!! As a songwriter, i find BIAB incredible!! One thing that REALLY needs attention - & i've commented on various other BIAB videos - is the display (for UA-cam) is very blurry. When i watch these videos i can't make out anything in the mixer window or top of the screen.
Hi Henry, excellent pointers, actually I kinda put some of those indication in the back burner, now its time for them to dust them off and reuse them. Thanks for the reminder!!! The use of these techniques in use with the new features of BiaB, the "F7", will change way to arrange a song. ~AnVel
I always thought that the best way to show a tip is to use it in a song so people can get the full impact of why you would do that. It's adds to the length of the video but I honestly think it's worth it.
Henry, Does BIAB have STYLE SUGGESTIONS to use for certain song? For example; I have an audio song or maybe a midi song, and I want to drop that song into BIAB to give me the suggested styles that go with this song. Does BIAB have that option? If not, they should have it at next version. There are many styles in BIAB now, how would I know how to search for a song style for my song? Please help explain how you would do it? Thanks.
If I want to do a song in a specific style I'll load the chords (usually type them in or use a MIDI file) and demo those chords against the style I have in mind. BIAB is not going to suggest the style. That's YOUR job. You should know what style you want the song in. If you do you just sort styles and demo the chords against it. What's nice about this approach is that you can demo the song against style you may have not previously considered. For example you may want to see how your song sounds in Reggae, or Country, or Pop. To do it the other way you suggest is not something that I would endorse.
I'm brand new at BB, and I've been searching how to drop a chord or a passing tone on the 4 And, followed by a new chord on the 1. I haven't been able to locate the procedure. I've seen the Push or Anticipation, but not the 4And. Can anyone help?
I would try maybe something like micro chords but based on what I see you described it may not be worth all the programming. That's a decision I face sometimes and I just decide that is it really worth it? In most cases for me it's not but you'll have to decide.
@@henryclarke5407 I do tend to do a fair amount of Anticipation, for example I anticipate the lVmaj7's in Shining Star, but I have songs where I do it more. Have any of your fans figured it out, I wonder. Btw, what's 'micro chords'? 👍😁 Thanks for doing such a great job on all these lesson videos, much appreciation.
That's just a directory I create where I have me BIAB files located. It makes it easier for me to search for songs I'm working on. It's not a directory that the software creates. Just one I prefer to make. It really comes in handy when you upgrade to newer versions.
Great stuff Henry. Keep em Coming!
Thanks for watching!

I'm not sure how to bring it into better focus. I use OBS software and I view on a 26 inch monitor. If there' s a viable tip I'm open.
A really useful lesson, Henry. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful !
Thanks Henry, really valuable stuff here in this tutorial. Specially loved the push effect. I''ll use it right away.
Yes. The Push is one of my favorites.

Great video again Henry 👌
Thanks
Great stuff. Thank you!

Thank you.
You're welcome!
So helpful - earnt yourself a sub sir :)
Thanks for subbing and watching !!
yeah good stuff, maybe its murky keeping track of hits and pushes by 16ths and 8ths, but you do it good
Can't push everything and all instruments do not push well. For example if you have a solo going you probably want to exclude the solo from the push.
😂 hi Henry, thanks for these very useful tips!
Glad you like them!

@@henryclarke5407 I saw you click a little box in Styles to play the example with Our chords, but I haven't found it in BB 2024.
@@HerringboneRecords You just double click on the style and it plays the chords from the chordsheet.

I'm very close to "Senior" status, but not quite. Am I still allowed to like this video? ;)
TOO FUNNY !!! Actually made me laugh out loud :-)
