Trip Recap: Total casts: 312 (253 Ultra-Light, 59 Light) 30 fish caught all on the Ultra-Light. 26 Bluegill, 2 Large Mouth, 1 Green Sunfish, 1 Skipjack First fish 5th cast, 8 lost fish (6 on Ultra-Light, 2 on Light) 7 - 1” Gulp Minnows used, 2 - 2” Gulp Minnows used. 5 lost jigs (4 - Snags, 1 - Dropped) 27 ads viewed. Favorite Surgical Tube Lure is a Chartreuse color with a single treble hook in the back. Found the best speed to troll them at is around 5-6 MPH. I have seen Cudas come clean out of the water several feet hitting them. Always an amazing sight and battle.
Thanks buddy! Much appreciated as always. I hit your Everglades spot by the casino Thursday morning. Got skunked there but I caught a bunch of fish up on lake Ida.
I like how the 3 inch was our idea until you hooked into a small jaw then all the sudden it was your idea…😂 Hahaha you’re crazy, I can’t believe we messed that hook set up though… Dang it
The 100lb will move it significantly faster. My friends who have been running 24v 70lb thrust motors get about 1mph faster speed than my 55lb. The science nerds on the internet claim more thrust doesn’t equal more speed but I have seen it proven wrong time and time again in real life experience. 1-2mph speed difference may not matter on a boat but it’s a big increase for a kayak.
Rock on brother. I fish down here in the Atlanta, GA area on my 10 foot Hobie Passport most of the time. I mostly throw ultralight and always catch multiple species. I noticed you're in a new and much lighter Hobie lynx. I have a bigger and heavier Hobie Outback that's registered as a boat so I can legally put a trolling motor on it...but mostly fish from my lighter and easier to manage Hobie Passport 10.5😎
Thanks another great vid man! Speaking of surgery - I like forceps for getting hooks/jigs out of fish with small mouths. Think they call them hemostatic. I'm sure you know the ones. I use them on Luderick here,
You need a pair of hemostats brother. Get your girl to snag them from the hospital or buy them yourself but they’re going to improve your life drastically.
Im doing house work while listening to you, you were talking about TVA and water levels. They have nothing to do with it in my opinion. I think all the boat in the water during the summer drinking beer and peeing in the water keeps the water level up … 😂
My top 3 I remember 1: the paddle fish, 2: the cat with the Dot you caught twice about a year a part and 3: the carp that had no eyes and also the ugliest fish ever that you dedicated to me 😅😅 Not a fish but another rembered video is when you went fishing with Creek fishing adventures and had a Bill Dance moment. It hard to believe it been that many years since the paddle fish.
This may be a dumb question but I'm going to ask anyway. I'm fixing to get a pedal yak, from a pure exercise perspective is there a difference in the muscles used between the oldtown pedaling vs the hobie? Whole reason for the yak is to have fun exercising
Not a dumb question at all. They do work different muscle groups. I usually feel the most burn in the quads with the Hobie drive. If you pedal the old town drive really fast, you will feel it in the quads too but it seems to work the glutes and abs a little more. Both will give you a work out if you pedal fast enough.
Watched the new kayak video, could you somehow put trolling motor battery under bow compartment shorten the wires, and then would have cooler room in back ?
Possibly. Two issues with that is putting the battery up front adds a lot of weight to the bow. The other is the fact there is a molded in battery tray in the back of the kayak. Depending on the size of the cooler, it may not fit back there.
You mentioned the helicopter man well we have something called the gardian center down here in Perry they do disaster training and make movies. But it is supposed to make everything alright if they post in the news paper that they are flying chinhooks (them big double rotor jobs) and black Hawks low enough to shake the windows in the house. They put out the notice a couple days in advance got no problem with the 2-3 days but got a problem with the 4 to 5 o'clock in the 😢 morning. It gets dark at 6 pm so why do they need to fly after 11 pm .

@@KayakCatfish Bummer on the Everglades spot, I always do real good there, especially on the Eastern most part of the bridge.
I like how the 3 inch was our idea until you hooked into a small jaw then all the sudden it was your idea…😂 Hahaha you’re crazy, I can’t believe we messed that hook set up though… Dang it
I got your 1 inch gulps and little hooks with the 2 pound line and love them, they are so fun to play with. Thanks 🎣
Awesome! Glad you are enjoying it.
Man I hope to be like you one day Justin! Thanks for all the great videos !
Dude, you always crack me up!! Thank you for making my day!!!! 😄😅
You need to get in some Oscar fishing on your trip to Florida. You'll have a great time .
help clean up those invasive species
On your xtr, why go with a 100lb trolling motor? A 55 will move it at the same speed with plenty of torque. That's an extra 10-15lbs of nose weight.

That bluegill wanted to go home and get kisses from Daphne 😂.
I'll have to split the video into two days. Can't wait to see the rest of the action.
Thanks Teri!
I’ll tell you what Justin, I still remember my first day too, buddy so don’t feel bad!

Time for giants and a lot!!! God bless you friend 😊
I enjoy my old town sportsman. I get exercise while fishing.
you need hemostats for your small fish.
😮😮😮😮😮😮

Let’s go 💪
I tried yesterday for some bait with no luck. Had to buy some from my local bait shop.

Thanks Doug! I appreciate you watching!
One option for the cooler on the bonafide would be to switch to an insulated fish bag that slides under your seat and doesn't use deck space.
That’s probably what I’ll end up doing
This may be a dumb question but I'm going to ask anyway. I'm fixing to get a pedal yak, from a pure exercise perspective is there a difference in the muscles used between the oldtown pedaling vs the hobie? Whole reason for the yak is to have fun exercising

@@KayakCatfish ok thanks sounds like the old town will work best for me then

Fishing out the front vs fishing out the back would be seasonal for you most the time right?
I’m not sure yet. I guess it depends on if I can come up with a good way to mount rod holders on the front of the kayak.
Take a can of HOMNEY (white corn) with you to Florida. Put a piece on a hook and drop that next to the piers, fish on.
Can I get a bait delivery to Ohio please? Thanks.
That’s gonna be one heck of a delivery charge
great video. we not keeping fish for bait, so they aren't get us wet lol. stay safe.
Im trying to find the video that you said you added the link to the air purifier. Can you give me some info on the air purifier please.
Here is the link for it. amzn.to/4g0HcLi

Nice.
I wonder how much fun trolling a couple whopper plopper would be
You do know that you can have a seat made for your hobie and then you can turn around and fish out of the back if you wanted to.
The rear tank well in the Hobie isn’t made to support enough weight for me to stand up in that spot
What brand of panfish rod ?
St. Croix, there is a link under the details
I was told along time ago that if you don’t get some snags your not trying hard enough.
I got a buddy who’s getting his pilots license and it’s roughly 10,000 and it’s a lot of flying hours but I don’t know much else other than that
Helicopter pilots make 1 hundred thousand a year top pilots make one hundred seventeen thousand a year
It would be a lot of fun to see you hook into a 12 foot hammer head when you are in Florida. Hee haa buddy!
I will definitely be trying to do it
with how many times a helicopter flies over your videos, I think you are trying to get a birdseye view of your trips
Haha! It sure seems like it some days.
Speaking about your rod being less girthy, NOT what she said. Hahaha Sorry couldn't help myself.
It's what he's used to feeling in his hand, and he likes the natural feeling in the hand better than plastic. 😂
🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣👍👍👍👍👍
🙂🎣
Going to say it again I hate the new handle the plastic feels like a cheap wal~Mart rods that they stick on them wal-Mart combinations .
I agree. St. Croix needs to do better
If you don't like the kayak, can't you take it back?
No
😗
State police.... my cousin does that on drug hunting.
